  • As society evolves, people are making more of an effort to learn more about human aspects, one of which is emotional intelligence, a topic on which education experts have traditionally concentrated. This is due to the fact that emotional intelligence has a significant impact on how people think and manage their emotions. On the other side, it promotes the development of expressive ability and aids people in better adapting to life. This study explores the relationship between communication skills, leadership skills, stress management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence of FPT University students to determine the factors that affect students' emotional intelligence. To survey 500 FPT University students, this study used a sample size of 500. Previous studies used a 5-point Likert scale to assess the four skill elements. According to the results, students who completed the survey showed adequate communication skills, leadership qualities, stress management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is influenced by communication skills, leadership abilities, stress management, and flexibility. This suggests that students who master these four skills have higher levels of emotional intelligence. The outcomes of this study reveal that students have been conscious of Emotional Intelligence since a young age. The affirmations in this research paper will benefit students and young people interested in enhancing complimentary soft skills that boost Emotional Intelligence.

  • These excavators have been widely used due to their flexibility in handing various tasks via simple changes of their attachments. Since the performance of manually-operated excavators heavily depend on the operators' skill level, there is a strong need for developing automatic excavators in the industry. In order to achieve such goals, exiting approaches have studied direct modification of existing hydraulic systems in the excavator for feed back control of each link. This paper presents a miniaturized automatic excavator that can be used for the development and demonstration of advanced control algorithm for excavators under a safer environment with reduced cost. Two PCs were installed and connected to the excavator through wireless communications for its control and monitoring. Tracking control of each link using a time varying sliding mode controller was performed through experiments on the developed system to demonstrate its ability.

  • In the past, management had been done over nurses rather than nursing and this brought the existence of general manager and as a result, nurse-manager's position and role are being threatend. For the up-bringing of nursing to firm professional recognition in the 21st century, it is firmly believed that nursing managers are to be in the position to play the role of general manager with professional qualifications; personal qualities and exact understandings on the role and function of each tier group under her/his management. 124 top(3 nursing superintendents), middle-range(23 supervisors) and unit managers(98 head-nurses) from 3 university hospitals in Seoul were interviewed in order to investigate their belief in the role, professional qualifications, personal qualities as well as the strategy for the development of their leadership qualities. The frame of reference for the interview were developed by the researcher in reference to relevant literatures. It was the common belief that qualifications o[ top-managers and mid-managers require an educational background of master's preparation or higher and clinical career for at least 15 years for top-managers and 5 -10 years for mid-managers. The personal qualities required by nurse managers include; leadership, initiative, judgement, self-confidence, flexibility, open-mindedness and strong motivation. Achievment-orientedness would greatly help them become excellent managers. On the other hand, [or more effective management, managers of each teir group are to fully understand their role and perform "their job responsibilities ie. Top managers are supposed to study with emphasis on organization, function and conceptual s~ill while mid-managers concentrate their effort on the development of skills for direction, guidance and human relationship. Unit managers also supposed to have abilities to manage their function with emphasis on development of clinical performance skill, for direction on operative aspects. The strategies for the development of leadership qualities include program-planning at individual instutional level as well as local, national and international level. Nurse-managers are to be motivated and encouraged to participate in the programs in order to effectively communicate within tier groups.oups.

  • According to the survey results on non-standard employment, most of the non-standard workers are women and work at service jobs and some jobs that do not require firm-specific skill. Also wages of non-standard workers appear to be lower than those of standard workers by 10~19%. Non-standard workers are very much likely to be excluded from beneficiaries of economic growth because job contents and ability are not important relatively as criteria in determining their basic wage and their benefits are also much lower in severance pay and bonuses, vacations, 4 social insurances, education and training opportunities. Because of very low rate of union membership, the working conditions of non-standard workers are not expected to be improvable easily by unions. It seems that the reason of the demand increase for non-standard workers is mainly because not only an individual establishment demands quantitative flexibility in employment, but also there are tendencies of being smaller in establishment size and of growing service industries macro-economically. The number of non-standard workers are expected to increase continuously in the future, too.

  • The psychiatric interview is not a random or arbitrary meeting between doctor and patient. It is a systematic attempt to understand the relationship of psychopathology to emotional conflicts in patient, and interviewing is an in rather than a science, a skill that can be acquired but probably not taught. The faculty of the Seoul National University Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, have been providing 12 sessions of seminar on Psychiatric Interview and Psychopathology every year for the first year residents for the past 15 years. The authors presented three cases materials with their understandings of psychopathology and psychodynamics, each of which the authors had performed live interviews for 50 minutes in front of the residents. Those are a young male with conversion disorder whose chief complaints was motor aphasia, a young college girl with paranoid schizophrenia whose chief complaints were persecutory and erotic delusions with auditory hallucination, and a climacteric female in delusional disorder who had a delusion of infidelity. The most frequent questions the residents raised after the presentations were on the significances of the first interview, danger of making the diagnoses with short interviews, and methodology of questionings and not-questionings. In reply the authors discussed the importance of understandings of psychopathology and psychodynamics, the flexibility of the techniques of interviewing, and priority-related matters in which the understanding of psychodynamics proceed to the diagnoses.
