고분자 공정에 적용할 수 있는 일반화된 공정-저장조 망구조 최적설계 (Optimal Design of Generalized Process-storage Network Applicable To Polymer Processes)

  • 사각파 모형은 회분식 공정-저장조 망구조의 최적설계에 성공적으로 적용되었다. 설계된 망구조는 재순환 흐름을 포함하는 회분식의 모든 생산 재고 및 분배 체계를 내포한다. 본 연구에는 사각파 모형의 적용범위를 연속 또는 회분식 공정 뿐 만 아니라 반연속 공정에 까지 확대하려 한다. 이전의 연구에서는 원료조성이나 제품수율은 알려진 상수로 취급되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 제약이 완화되어 원료조성이나 제품 수율이 최적화 되어져야 하는 독립변수로 취급된다. 이러한 수정은 정유공장에서 흔히 접하는 최적제품 배합문제를 취급할 수 있게 한다. 원료조성과 제품수율이 독립변수일 때 발생하는 많은 문제의 복잡성에도 불구하고 사각파 모형은 여전히 해석적인 최적용량 공식을 제공한다. 최적공장설계에 적용되는 본 연구의 유용성은 고밀도 폴리에틸렌 공장설계의 예를 통해 나타내었다. 연구결과를 토대로 모든 공정의 최적성을 비교할 수 있는 척도를 제시하였다. 이 척도는 다수의 공정의 성능을 직접 비교할 수 있게 하므로 공정의 상태를 진단하는 유용한 도구가 될 것이다. 공정의 비용이 유속의 제곱근에 비례한다는 결과는 공장설계에서 늘리 알려진 6/10 경험법칙과 유사하다.

  • 합금철 제조공정의 분진에서 재활용하기 위한 자료를 얻을 목적으로 분진의 압도와 형상 그리고 자성에 따른 조성을 조사하였다. 고탄소폐로망간과 실리콩망간의 제조공정에서 발생되는 분진의 메디안경은$6.0\mu\textrm{m}$이고, Ca함량이 25.4% Mn함량은 13.5%이며, Mn 성분은 주로 합금철의 산화물로 존재하기 때문에 입도분급이나 자력선별로는 망간의 품위나 실수율을 높이기 어려울 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 중 저탄소페로망간 제조공정의 분진 중에서 Bag Filter에 포집되는 분진은 $0.2~2\mu\textrm{m}$의구형이고, Mn 함량이 63.1%이며, 주로 $Mn_3O_4$로 존재하기 때문에 망간을 재활용하기 위한 좋은 원료가 될 수 있다. 또한 Cooler에 포집되는 부진의 메디안경은 $5.8mu\textrm{m}$이고, $13\mu\textrm{m}$를 기준으로 크게 2게 입단으로 나누어지며, 미립자의 입단에 $Mn_3O_4$의 구형입자가, 조립자의 입단에는 $Mn_{x}Fe_{y}O_{z}$의 속이 빈 구형입자와 ) $Ca(OH_2)$의 입자들이 농집되는 경향이 크므로 입도분급이나 자력선별로 Mn의 품위를 높일 수 는 있으나 실수율이 46%에 지나지 않았다.

  • The necessity for environment-friendly material development has emerged in the recent automotive field due to stricter regulations on fuel economy and environmental concerns. Accordingly, the automotive industry is paying attention to carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) material with high strength and stiffness properties while the lightweight. In this study, we determine a shape of lower control arm (LCA) for maximizing the strength and stiffness by optimizing the thickness of each layer when the stacking angle is fixed due to the CFRP manufacturing problems. Composite materials are laminated in the order of $0^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, and $-45^{\circ}$ with a symmetrical structure. For the approximate optimal design, we apply a sequential two-point diagonal quadratic approximate optimization (STDQAO) and use a process integrated design optimization (PIDO) code for this purpose. Based on the physical properties calculated within a predetermined range of laminate thickness, we perform the FEM analysis and verify whether it satisfies the load and stiffness conditions or not. These processes are repeated for successive improved objective function. Optimized CFRP LCA has the equivalent stiffness and strength with light weight structure when compared to conventional aluminum design.

CMP Conditioner의 오염방지를 위한 V-SAM 공정개발과 박막특성 분석 (Development of V-SAM Process and Surface Characterization for Anti-contamination of CMP Conditioner)

  • 반도체 device가 점점 고집적화, 다층화 되면서 막질의 평탄화를 위한 CMP (chemical mechanical planarization) 공정은 반도체 제작 공정에서 필수 요건이 되었다. 특히 pad conditioning은 CMP 공정 중, 막질의 제거율과 균일도를 유지시키기 위한 중요한 공정이다. 하지만, conditioner를 장시간 사용할 경우 slurry residue와 같은 잔류 오염물질들이 conditioner의 표면의 오염을 유발할 수 있고 이로 인해 conditioner의 수명이 단축되거나 웨이퍼 표면에 결함을 유발할 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 방지하기 위해 vapor SAM을 이용하여 Ni conditioner 표면에 소수성 박막을 증착하여 오염여부를 평가해 보았다. 먼저, Ni wafer를 이용하여 증착 온도와 압력에 따라 소수성 박막을 증착하여 표면특성을 평가해 보았다. 증착전과 후에 Ni wafer 표면의 접촉각은 contact angle analyzer (Phoenix 400, SEO, Korea)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 박막 표면 형상과 거칠기는 AFM (XE-100, PSIA, Korea)를 이용하여 평가되었고 묘면 성분 분석을 위해 FT-IR (Nicolet 6700, Thermo Scientific, USA)이 사용되었다. SEM (S-4800, Hitach, Japan)은 박막 증착 전과 후의 conditioner를 이용하여 실제 conditioning후 conditioner 표면의 particle 오염정도를 관찰하기 위해 사용되었다. 또한, conditioner 표면에 실제 오염되어있는 particle 개수를 평가하기 위해 particle size analyzer (Accusizer 780A, Particle Sizing Systems Co., USA)을 사용하였다. 본 실험을 통해 최적 증착 조건을 확립하였으며 실제 conditioner 표면에 소수성 박막을 증착 후 $100^{\circ}$ 이상의 높은 contact angle을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 소수성 박막이 증착된 conditioner의 경우 실제 conditioning후 표면 particle 오염이 현저히 감소되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Micronized Cellulose as a Paper Additive and a Carrier for Papermaking Chemicals

  • This article portrays special cellulose fibers, which are designed to be a functional additive and a carrier for papermaking chemicals. The first part of the presentation deals with the micronized $ARBOCEL^{(R)}$ cellulose fibers, which are used as a functional paper/paperboard additive. In particular as a bulk and speed aid. The detailed description of the micronized $ARBOCEL^{(R)}$ fibers, their function and effects on papermaking process and paper products are given. The second part of the study describes the concept of fiber-based papermaking chemicals. A new generation of fiber-based papermaking chemicals were presented for the first time at the PTS Pulp Technology Symposium 2005, and then several articles were published in various magazine in Asia ("Paper Asia"), the US ("Pulp & Paper"). and Europe ("Wochenblatt fuel Papierfabrikation"). The information generated quite an interest in the paper industry. Extensive studies of these papermaking additives have been made recently, new information obtained, and the compounds have gained more recognition in the industry. The company J. Rettenmaier und Soehne developed a group of fiber-based papermaking additives. They include combination of fibers with sizing agents, starch, fluorochemicals, minerals, biocides and some others. This article presents in-depth study of the AKD modified micronized cellulose as an example of the fiber-based papermaking chemicals concept. The material of the present paper is based mostly on the results of the pilot paper machine study at the Paper Research Institute PTS (Heidenau, Germany), and includes case studies from the mills, which used $ARBOCELPLUS^{(R)}-AKD$ compounds. It should be noted that the $ARBOCELPLUS^{(R)}$ compounds were not designed to replace traditional additives in paper industry. They should rather be used in those areas, where application of "normal" chemicals is especially problematic

Development of an Advanced Rotorcraft Preliminary Design Framework

  • Various modules are generally combined with one another in order to perform rotorcraft preliminary design and its optimization. At the stage of the preliminary design, analysis fidelity is less important than the rapid assessment of a design is. Most of the previous researchers attempted to implement sophisticated applications in order to increase the fidelity of analysis, but the present paper focuses on a rapid assessment while keeping the similar level of fidelity. Each small-sized module will be controlled by an externally-operated global optimization module. Results from each module are automatically handled from one discipline to another which reduces the amount of computational effort and time greatly when compared with manual execution. Automatically handled process decreases computational cycle and time by factor of approximately two. Previous researchers and the rotorcraft industries developed their own integrated analysis for rotorcraft design task, such as HESCOMP, VASCOMP, and RWSIZE. When a specific mission profile is given to these programs, those will estimate the aircraft size, performance, rotor performance, component weight, and other aspects. Such results can become good sources for the supplemental analysis in terms of stability, handling qualities, and cost. If the results do not satisfy the stability criteria or other constraints, additional sizing processes may be used to re-evaluate rotorcraft size based on the result from stability analysis. Trade-off study can be conducted by connecting disciplines, and it is an important advantage in a preliminary design study. In this paper among the existing rotorcraft design programs, an adequate program is selected for a baseline of the design framework, and modularization strategy will be applied and further improvements for each module be pursued.

현금흐름을 포함하는 회분식 공정-저장조 망구조의 최적설계 (Optimal Design Of Batch-Storage Network with Financial Transactions and Cash Flows)

  • This paper presents an integrated analysis of production and financing decisions. We assume that a cash storage unit is installed to manage the cash flows related with production activities such as raw material procurement, process operating setup, Inventory holding cost and finished product sales. Temporarily financial investments are allowed for more profit. The production plant is modeled by the Batch-Storage Network with Recycle Streams in Yi and Reklaitis (2003). The objective function of the optimization is minimizing the opportunity costs of annualized capital investment and cash/material inventory while maximizing stockholder's benefit. No depletion of all the material and cash storage units is major constraints of the optimization. A novel production and inventory analysis formulation, the PSW(Periodic Square Wave) model, provides useful expressions for the upper/lower bounds and average level of the cash and material inventory holdups. The expressions for the Kuhn-Tucker conditions of the optimization problem can be reduced to two subproblems and analytical lot sizing equations under a mild assumption about the cash flow pattern of stockholder's dividend. The first subproblem is a separable concave minimization network flow problem whose solution yields the average material flow rates through the networks. The second subproblem determines the decisions about financial Investment. Finally, production and financial transaction lot sizes and startup times can be determined by analytical expressions as far as the average flow rates are calculated. The optimal production lot and storage sizes considering financial factors are smaller than those without such consideration. An illustrative example is presented to demonstrate the results obtainable using this approach.

FPSO Riser 지지구조의 설계최적화에 대한 근사화 기법의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Approximation Techniques on Design Optimization of a FPSO Riser Support Structure)

  • 본 논문에서는 해양작업 상태의 하중조건을 고려한 부유식 원유생산 저장 하역장치에 설치된 라이져 보강구조의 강도설계에 관련하여 다양한 근사화 기법 기반 설계최적화 및 그 성능을 비교하고자 한다. 설계최적화 문제는 하중조건별 구조강도의 제한조건 하에서 중량을 최소화하여 설계변수인 구조 부재치수가 결정되도록 정식화된다. 비교 연구를 위해 사용된 근사화 기법은 반응표면법 기반 순차적 근사최적화(RBSAO), 크리깅 기반 순차적 근사최적화(KBSAO), 그리고 개선된 이동최소자승법(MLSM) 기반 근사최적화 기법인 CF-MLSM와 Post-MLSM이다. RBSAO와 KBSAO의 적용을 위하여 상용프로세스 통합 설계최적화(PIDO) 코드를 사용하였다. 본 연구에 적용한 MLSM 기반 근사최적화 기법들은 제한조건의 가용성을 보장할 수 있도록 새롭게 개발되었다. 다양한 근사화 모델 기반 설계최적화 기법에 의한 결과는 설계 해의 개선 및 수렴속도 등의 수치적 성능을 기준으로 실제 비근사 설계최적화 결과와 비교 검토하였다.

환자복 디자인 개발에 관한 사례 연구 -고려대학교 의료원의 일반 환자복과 산부인과용 가운을 중심으로- (A Case Study on the Development of Patient Clothes Designs -Focused on General Patient Pajamas and Obstetrics and Gynecology Gowns of Korea University Medical Center-)

  • A case study was conducted on the development of patient clothes designs at the Korea University Medical Center, in order to provide an example of patient clothes designs which meet the hospital identity and the demands of patients and nurses. In this study, we focused on general patient pajamas and one-piece gowns worn in the obstetrics and gynecology department. A scientific and systematic design approach consisting of the following four steps was conducted in the designing process: needs assessment, design direction establishment, design presentation, and final decision. For the first step, focused group interviews and a survey were conducted to identify the needs of the patients and nurses. According to the results of the first step, 3 fabric patterns with light, modern, rhythmic, modest and ordinary images were designed utilizing the university and hospital symbols and logotypes. Fixed forms with realistic and geometric characteristics and colors, including white, yellow, blue, grey, and pink were selected to deliver the preferred image. Each fabric pattern was made in male and female versions of the color sets. The following styles of patient clothes were made with the 3 fabric samples: general patient pajamas with a U-neckline, 9/10-length sleeves and ankle-length pants, a full-length sleeved gown with openings for breast-feeding, and a gown with a deep back-neckline and button fastening. Different sizing systems for males and females were recommended for the production.

항공기 비상사태에 대한 객실안전조치에 관한 연구 -객실승무원의 안전업무와 승객의 객실안전정보 인식을 중심으로- (A Study on the Improvement Methods on Cabin Safety Actions in Aircraft Accidents -Focused on Cabin Crew Safety Performances & Passenger Perceptions of Cabin Safety Information -)

  • Aircraft accidents these days, following the mega sizing trend of the aircraft, result in enormous losses of human lives apart from those of property, which cannot be replaced by any means. As most recently, in April 20, 2012, a Boeing 737 passenger plane departed Karachi on an augural flight to Islamabad, Pakistan, crashed close to an express highway on final approach, all 121 passengers and 6 crew members were killed. As such a large number of fatalities have been recorded in aircraft accidents while accident investigation results show that more than 95% of aircraft accidents are now survivable. There are three basic stages in surviving the aircraft accident: surviving the crash impact, the evacuation process and the hostile post evacuation environmental elements. These stages require the cabin crew's expeditious and appropriate actions on the basis of systematic and thorough cabin safety training in order to increase occupants' survivability, along with the passengers' preparedness. In this aspect, this paper examines the issues acting as the impediments to the passenger survival in inflight emergency situations, that are the deficiencies with cabin crew safety training, related performances and the shortcomings in passengers' knowledge on inflight safety information, leading to their inappropriate responses to emergency situations. These issues are analyzed and the root causes are identified, suggesting the resolving countermeasures.
