  • With the environmental changes around libraries and information centers, they need to develop various management techniques and apply them to library works and services. In this research a case study was conducted in a special library of If company. This study was aimed for reducing ineffective components and unnecessary processes in library works and services. This study applied the Six sigma technique to improve the process of purchasing overseas academic and strategic Information and users' a degree of satisfaction on information service. Specifically, this study used the live-step DMAIC(Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) method, mainly used in the manufacturing sector. As a result of this study, we could get epoch-making improvement.

  • Recently there has been huge efforts to improve performance in construction process by applying emerging techniques such as the Lean principle, Just-in-time concept and so on. However, little achievement as we expected has come out in reality due to the lack of strategy to set a definite goal of the execution and differences of personal viewpoints on construction productivity. Accordingly, it is the most important to promote the circumstances for the construction process improvement by quantifying the goals of respective unit activity groups. This research explores feasible solutions for the improvement of construction projects performance by combining the six-sigma principle for the generic administrative innovation based on the idea of construction process performance. For this purpose, mutual comparisons of various current approaches are performed in an attempt to establish the advantages in applying six-sigma idea and to provide its fundamental strategy. Furthermore, through a case study with the simulation of applying six-sigma to a unit activity group in construction process, this paper verifies that the overall performance improves as the degree of sigma level gets advanced.

  • Purpose: This study carried out the Quality by Design (QbD)6σ process to verify the effectiveness and equivalence of the finished D-antigen quantitative test method, and compared the OFAT-based method validation and test result acceptance criteria with the Analytical Quality by Design (AQbD)-based method validation and test method. This is a study on how to reduce the risk of delay in permit change by increasing the reliability of permit data in the existing method by statistically analyzing the results. Methods: With the QbD6σ process, the effectiveness and equivalence of the D-antigen quantitative test method were verified with the data of the existing test method and the new test method. Results: Method validation tests are performed based on AQbD. Critical Method Parameters are identified through risk assessment, and single/combined actions are verified by designing and performing tests for Critical Method Parameters (analysis of variance, full factorial design method). Method validation can be effectively accomplished with the QbD6σ process. Conclusion: The use of QbD6σ can be used to achieve satisfactory results for both pharmaceutical companies and regulators by using appropriate statistical analytical methods for method validation as required by regulatory agencies.

  • As the knowledge-based society has been constructed, the size of work process that has to be done grows bigger and the amount of the information that has to be analyzed increases. So each company is trying to construct more conformable process models in business model. This study helps to understand the interaction between Process data and structure which are collected on the profess by appling six Sigma as a process improving methodology. On Six Sigma, businesses tn practice Best Practice Process with the view of Value Chain To measure data for the process performing action, introducing Schedule management method makes it possible to collect and reflect accurate data of workers' ability. By this method, efficiency in production will be improved because workers we able to perform the process correctly and preliminary management for defects.

  • This research studied robust design of composite hand for LTR (LCD glass Transfer Robot). $1^{st}$ DOE (Design of Experiment) was conducted to find out vital few Xs. 108 experiments were performed and their results were statistically analyzed. Pareto chart analysis shows that the geometric parameters (height and width of composite beam) are more important than material parameters $(E_{1},\;E_{2})$ or stacking sequence angle. Also, the stacking sequence of mid-layer is more important than that of outer-layer. The main effect plots shows that the maximum deflection of LTR hand is minimized with increasing height, width of beam and layer thickness. $2^{nd}$ DOE was conducted to obtain RSM (Response Surface Method) equation. 25 experiments were conducted. The CCD (Central Composite Design) technique with four factors was used. The coefficient of determination $(R^{2})$ for the calculated RSM equation was 0.989. Optimum design was conducted using the RSM equation. Multi-island genetic algorithm was used to optimum design. Optimum values for beam height, beam width, layer thickness and beam length were 24.9mm, 186.6mnL 0.15mm and 2402.4mm respectively. An approximate value of 0.77mm in deflection was expected to be a maximum under the optimum conditions. Six sigma robust design was conducted to find out guideline for control range of design parameter. To acquire six sigma level reliability, the standard deviation of design parameter should be con trolled within $2{\%}$ of average design value

Side-length, Upper-thickness and Middle-thickness were 299.8mm, 180.3mm, 21.7mm, 21.9mm respectively. An approximate value of 5.054mm in deflection was expected to be a maximum under the optimum conditions. Six sigma robust design was conducted to find out guideline for control range of design parameter. • Pb-free wave soldering process of AC Adapter was implemented by six sigma method using Sn-Cu-Ni type solder. The solder joint appearance, microstructural change, a lift-off phenomenon and reliability were evaluated through thermal shock teal. $(Cu,Ni)_6Sn_5$-type intermetallic compound of which thickness is about 5 micron was found at solder joint between Sn-Cu-Ni solder and copper land. After applying the thermal shock test of as-soldered product up to 750 cycles, no crack was found at the solder joint and the newly developed product was superior to conventions; one in terms of productivity and reliability.
