  • The importance of geospatial information is increasingly highlighted in the defense domain. Accurate and up-to-date geospatial data is essential for situational awareness, target analysis, and mission planning in millitary operations. The use of high-resolution geospatial data in military operations requires large storage and fast image processing capabilities. Efficient image processing is required for tasks such as extracting useful information from satellite images and creating 3D terrain for mission planning, In this paper, we designed a cloud-based operational situation mixed reality visualization system that utilizes large-scale geospatial information distributed processed on a cloud server based on the container orchestration platform Kubernetes. We implemented a prototype and confirmed the suitability of the design.

  • A modified Anderson and Hauck(1983) test for analyzing a two-sequence two-period crossover design in bioequivalence trials is proposed when some observations at the second period are missing. It is based on the maximum likelihood estimators of average bioequivalence model and designed for handling missing at random(MAR) situation. The performance of the proposed test is compared to other tests using Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Focused on the fact that sound is one of the important sensory cues delivering situations such as impact, this paper proposes an auditory interaction design approach for virtual environment. Based on a few sampling of basic material sound for various materials such as steel, rubber, and glass, the proposed method enables design transformations of the basic sound by allowing modification of mode gains that characterize natural sound for the material. In real-time virtual environment, it also provides simulation of modified sound according to the change of impact situation's perceptual properties such as colliding objects' size, hardness, contacting area, and speed. The test results on cognition experiment for discriminating objects' materials and impact situation by sound showed the feasibility of proposed auditory interaction design method.

  • A flexible and correct model of the activity flows is required for workflows in product development environments. In particular, the design activity flows are not known until run-time, and conventional approaches have limit to handle this situation because they cannot predefine all the potentially reachable paths. Thus, the structure of the workflow model must be flexible enough to describe variety in workflow design and accommodate dynamic changes during workflow execution. In this paper, we provide the general primitive axioms and change patterns based on event calculus for dynamic workflow specification and execution mechanisms in product development environments. Also, we describe how to execute the workflow dynamically based on the workflow specification and workflow change patterns using abductive planning technique.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of situation recognition system with smart phone sensors, which recognizes the dangerous situation at anytime, anywhere through intuitive data analysis of the combination of the sensor. The implemented system consists of wearable heart rate sensor and acceleration sensor of smart phone instead of existing sensor that is attached to the body. It is also designed to get more effective results of recognition about the dangerous situation using merged displacement values of acceleration sensor and heart rate sensor which are measured in the process of recognizing dangerous situations. This research, in accordance with the wide penetration of smartphones, achieves the fast status determination through the combination of an acceleration sensor and a heart rate sensor applied to its own status perception algorithm for anyone who needs the stable perception of risk without the need for a separate provision of the sensor.

  • In order to obtain rigorous systems analysis and design, it is essential to understand accurate information flow in the system. For the effective capturing of accurate information flow in a system, it Is vital to control information flow in the system. Also, information and information flow have to be simplified as a deliverable form. This paper presents partitioning and conveyance technique based on the application of situation theory. First, historical background of situation theory will be given. Then necessary conditions and definitions will be provided. Lastly, this paper provides specific technique with example. This introduced technique will be a powerful tool for sharing timely and relevant information in a complex manufacturing system that can be used continuously and efficiently throughout systems operation.

  • As scenario-based design is expanded to various fields of design, it is introduced to HCI(Human Computer Interaction) in order to figure out user information & tasks. However, scenario based design methods that is focused on collecting scenarios regarding users'needs, is mainly utilized conceptual design stage for system itself. There is a gap between users'need scenarios to interface design of HCI system. In this study, web survey is suggested as scenario based interface design method in order to connect scenario collecting to task specification and to menu structure design of home-network controller. The degree of users'need for specified tasks was verified to various kinds of users through web survey and it decideddepth and order of menu structure. Tasks also was categorized to situation mode and users can make their own menu structure by selecting menu contents or even mode itself, because degrees of need for specified task situation were varied by lifestyle of user group. Finally, it is found that web survey method can be applied to collect and database various scenarios of. various users when a questionnaire is well designed for collection.

  • The ubiquitous, which is developed for human's convenience, uses the concept of situation awareness that communicates with computer and performs a certain work without user's recognition. In order to collect the information of situation, many devices are required. Also, in the condition of ubiquitous middleware, priority is given to effective controls of various devices. There are many devices for collecting the information of situation awareness such as sensor, RFID, etc. Among them, in the use of RFID, the researcher performed the experiment, in which multiple readers were used depending on the necessity of awareness information, and found the problem of intervention between readers occurring when multiple readers are used. The paper handles the problem of intervention causing from using multiple readers and suggests middleware design module using session manager to solve the problem.
