This study was carried out to construct accurate and scientific system of assessment indicators in selection of National Trust conservation areas, which was new concept of domestic environment movement and offer the raw data of new analytic method by introducing the fuzzy theory and weight for overcoming the uncertainty of ranking decision. To transform the Likert's scale granted to assessment indicators into the type of triangular fuzzy number(a, b, c), there was conversion to each minimum(a), median(b), and maximum(c) in applying membership function, and in using the center of gravity and eigenvalue, there was to decide the ranking. The rankings of converted values applied a mean importance and weight were confirmed that they were generally changed. Therefore, the ranking decision was better to accomplish objective and rational ranking decision by applying weight that was calculated in grouping of indicator than to judge the singular concept and to be useful in assessment of diverse National Trust site. In the future, because AHP, which was general method of calculating weight, was lacked, there was to understand the critical point to fix a pertinent weight, and to carry out the study applying engineering concept like fuzzy integral using $\lambda-measure$.
The main purpose of this study is to propose the integrated assessment model for the rational and effective selection of proposed sites in National Trust (NT) and conserve the ruined natural environment by excessive land development. The results of this study are as follows; 1) The specialists thought that rare and endangered species were very important in plant and animal, in case of landscape and environment, naturality and water quality were too important. 2) In the result of the correlation measure on the indicator of assessment, 'erosion of soil'and 'air pollutant'was highly correlative. Secondly, 'suspended solids' and 'erosion of soil'was high correlation. 3) In the result of forming the factors into the integrated indicators, they were classified into conditional, stable, valuable and potential factors and the purpose of this formation is to evaluate proposed sites in NT objectively and rationally with organic assessment. 4) In the integrated assessment model, the degree of explanation was observed approximately 36.4% and the important factor was the conditional factor, but we have to consider all factors for the effective and objective assessment. Therefore we organically have to apply and use them for the assessment of proposed sites in NT. It turns out to offer raw data on the land conservation and carry out the role of the instrument of measurement. As for future directions, the follow are proposed: 1) adaptation of real proposed site, 2) verification of effect and problem, 3) practical survey for diverse types as mountain, coast and inland.
A wide range of projects for ocean renewable energy are currently in development around the world and ocean energy industries continue to receive significant support from their governments. Surrounded by sea on three sides, Korea has potentially abundant renewable ocean energy resources, which include tidal current, tidal range, offshore wind power, osmotic pressure and ocean thermal energy. Numerous ocean renewable energy projects has been developed in Korea. Nevertheless, there are some concerns that those developments often select an environmentally unsuitable location and/or there are very few existing information on those environmental effects. The purpose of this study is to improve supporting policies and regulation systems of ocean renewable energy development in Korea by reviewing and compiling government policies and environmental assessment systems related to ocean renewable energy development around the world. The study suggests several policy implications for its environmental-friendly development in Korea, including requirements of strategic environmental assessment for proactive and environmentally suitable site selection of ocean renewable energy development and continuous post-development environmental monitoring, and so on.

A retaining wall system suitable for a construction project is selected on the basis of subsoil conditions. If the decision-maker selects an improper system, it has a negative effect on the cost and schedule of the construction project. There have been many studies related to the models and processes for selecting optimal retaining wall systems. However, engineers who are not familiar with formal analysis methods could not easily utilize the formal methods proposed by previous studies. In order to overcome this problem, we developed a web-based decision support system called Dr. Underground, which is both physically and technically easily accessible by engineers. Dr. Underground was developed based on a selection method developed from a precedent research project. It was developed using a server-side web language ASP.NET and MS Access as a database. Decision-makers can input data about the building's condition, construction site conditions and adjacent site conditions in this system. Based on the input data, Dr. Underground recommends an optimal retaining wall system for the inputted conditions and provides detail information on the system.

This study aims to develop a guideline of environmental assessment for tidal current energy development in Korea. Based on an extensive discussion of the environmental effects of tidal current energy, this study provides an appropriate guideline for environmental assessment on tidal current energy development in Korea. The guideline includes a method for proper site selection and specific techniques for environmental impact assessment. The guideline for environmental impact assessment consists of four steps - including current condition investigation, impact predictions, identification and incorporation of mitigation measures, and post environmental monitoring - to effectively predict and assess impacts of tidal current energy development on the ocean environment. It is expected that the guideline can facilitate the often demanding environmental assessment review process and to reduce the time taken for it.
This study is aimed to investigate the provenance of raw materials and firing temperature of jar coffins excavated from the Oryang-dong kiln site and Jeonchon tomb site, Naju, Korea. Most of jar coffin samples shows same range of magnetic susceptibility and have gray color, while 404 and 405 of Jeongchon site are reddish yellow. In some samples fired at high temperature, the water absorption at the mouth rim and body part of same jar coffin were 3.50% and 7.56% respectively. It means that heat transfer and equilibrium in the kiln was not properly continued and the heat energy transferred to the mouth rim and the body part was different. In the petrographic analysis, As a tempering materials, biotite, weathered quartz and feldspar were added in the jar coffins of Oryang-dong site, and biotite, polycrystalline quartz and feldspar in it of Jeongchon site. Tempering materials were found more in the body than in the mouth rim of same jar coffin of Oryang-dong site. It seemed that some samples were fired at over 1,000 to $1,100^{\circ}C$, which showed vitrified texture in the scanning electron images and the rest of samples were fired at below $900^{\circ}C$. Due to similarity of chemical compositions, it is estimated that jar coffins of Jeongchon tomb were produced and supplied from Oryang-dong kiln site. However, the slight difference of some trace elements distribution of samples is attributed to the selection of clay depending on the location.

The objective of this study was to develop a GIS application model for analyzing site-specific suitability and investment efficiency of major plantation tree species. The model was designed to choose the best plantation species in terms of both potential stand growth and investment efficiency. Site index and IRR were used as the criteria for the potential of stand growth and investment efficiency, respectively. In the model, the conditions of forest stand management and site index are estimated as the function of site-environmental factors extracted by a series of spatial analyses of digital maps of FGIS. Based on site index values of tree species, the model screens out all the high potential tree species, in terms of stand growth, as the candidates for species selection and, then, calculates IRR for managing plantation forest stands for all the candidate tree species. The tree species of the highest IRR would be chosen as the one possessing the highest potential in terms of stand growth and profit. The model was applied to a case study for analyzing the site-specific suitability of 6 tree species in Taehwa University Forest of Seoul National University and the results are given in this paper.

This paper emphasized the necessity of the marine spatial planning (MSP) through the analysis of the major developmental projects which could make a contradiction based on the adequacy of the site selection and environmental impacts. The conflicting affairs between space utilization and management plan happen in the following ways: marine renewable energy development, sand mining, reclamation, construction of golf course in coastal area, thermal effluent and waste heat, erosion causing port development. The conflict of stakeholder continues caused by the accumulated environmental impact. For the reasons mentioned above, we found two things. First, it is necessary to comprehend the fact of developmental planning and MSP. Second, it is still unsatisfactory to connect the relevance of laws related to the spatial planning. For the reinforcement of marine environmental policy management, it is necessary to consolidate the property of site selection and assessment of developmental scale. Especially, while the strategic environmental assessment is in progress based on site selection and property of scale, consistent diagnosis is needed in the following concerns: the fact of the marine spatial planning, the relevance between national developmental plan and regional developmental plan, fisheries regulation, marine protected animals. For the environmentally sound and sustainable development (ESSD), MSP should have to be prepared based in a way of top-down including coastal and EEZ plan, relevance of ocean-use zoning and sector planning, 3-D spatial information. And also integrated information system have to be prepared through high-tech marine spatial information. In conclusion, consistent and relevant strategy for MSP should have to include the whole information related to the maritime affairs such as harbor, fishing port, fishing ground, coastal management, marine ecosystem generally.

Among the renewable energy resources, wind power is growing rapidly in terms of technological development and market share. Recently, onshore wind farm have been affected by limitations of terrestrial space and environmental problems. Consequently, installation sites have been moved to the sea, and the development of floating offshore wind farms that are installed at deep waters with more abundant wind conditions is actively underway. In the context of maritime traffic, the optimal site of offshore wind farms is required to minimize the interference between ships and wind turbines and to reduce the probability of accidents. In this study, genetic algorithm based AIS(Automatic Indentification System) data composed of genes and chromosomes has been used. The optimal site of floating offshore wind farm was selected by using 80 genes and by evaluating the fitness of genetic algorithm. Further, the final site was selected by aggregating the seasonal optimal site. During analysis, 11 optimal site were found, and it was verified that the final site selected usng the genetic algorithm was viable from the perspective of maritime traffic.

Purpose: This study was performed to obtain a quantitative evaluation of the cortical and cancellous bone graft harvestable from the mental and canine regions, and to evaluate the cortical vestibular thickness. Materials and Methods: This study collected cone-beam computed tomographic (CBCT) images of 100 Italian patients. The limits of the mental region were established: 5 mm in front of the medial margin of each mental foramen, 5 mm under the apex of each tooth present, and above the inferior mandibular cortex. Cortical and cancellous bone volumes were evaluated using SimPlant software (SimPlant 3-D Pro, Materialize, Leuven, Belgium) tools. In addition, the cortical vestibular thickness (minimal and maximal values) was evaluated in 3 cross-sections corresponding to the right canine tooth (3R), the median section (M), and the left canine tooth (3L). Results: The cortical volume was $0.71{\pm}0.23mL$ (0.27-1.96 mL) and the cancellous volume was $2.16{\pm}0.76mL$ (0.86-6.28 mL). The minimal cortical vestibular thickness was $1.54{\pm}0.41mm$ (0.61-3.25 mm), and the maximal cortical vestibular thickness was $3.14{\pm}0.75mm$ (1.01-5.83 mm). Conclusion: The use of the imaging software allowed a patient-specific assessment of mental and canine region bone availability. The proposed evaluation method might help the surgeon in the selection of the donor site by the comparison between bone availability in the donor site and the reconstructive exigency of the recipient site.
