A Study on the Site Calibration of Network RTK Surveying (네트워크 RTK 측량의 사이트 캘리브레이션 방안에 관한 연구)

  • With the expansion of the development and use of surveying equipment recently, by the establishment of infrastructure for network RTK surveying of the NGII, network RTK surveying has been widely used in surveying industry. Currently, in public surveying regulations, site calibration with minimum 5 evenly spaced bench marks is needed for using network RTK surveying results as leveling. But the range between and the number of bench marks for site calibration can be varied according to the geoid undulation. In this study, in order to verify this, Incheon area having regular geoid undulation and Taebaek area having irregular geoid undulation are selected as study area and network RTK surveying have been done. Then the accuracy of site calibration by range between and the number of bench marks have been compared. As a result of this study, in order to meet a tolerance of vertical precision (0.1m) that has been set in public surveying regulations, there is a necessity for improving the regulations so that the range and number of bench marks, to be used for site calibration of network RTK surveying, can be applied complementarily.

  • Network RTK GNSS positioning technique which has been developed to overcome the limitation of Single reference station RTK is used widely in the field of general surveying, cadastre surveying and engineering surveying due to the high accuracy and efficiency. It is specified Network RTK, Single reference station RTK and Static of GNSS as a surveying method in the regulation of Cadastre Re-survey Surveying. In this study, Network RTK and Static GNSS surveying were accomplished at cadastral re-survey field in Hadong, Gyeongnam and the surveying results were compared. Also, to analyze the performance of site calibration in Network RTK surveying, two types of Network RTK surveying with and without site calibration were accomplished and the results was compared. The research result shows that average positioning error between Network RTK(VRS) without site calibration and Static surveying result is 2.44cm and 1.53cm respectively and average positioning error between Network RTK(VRS) with site calibration and Static surveying result is 0.19cm and 0.82cm respectively at two zone. So, it was proved the effect of calibration in network RTK(VRS) surveying.

  • Harbor design and construction plan in Korea becomes the most hot issue both in the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office and in the related port industries. Production of the plane and cross section maps together with the profile map for harbor project is done firstly and is important in all procedure because it is the most basic datum in counting the constructional expense for determination of the area and capacity. As the expense assigned on surveying part among the total expenses of harbor planning and construction in Korea is very small, it is difficult to make exact maps. Moveover, because the method used to make such maps is mostly traditional surveying such as plane table surveying , offset surveying, stadia surveying and level surveying, etc, it is difficult to get precise three dimensional maps. Therefore, for making more precise map in the harbor project, we have to use the newest surveying equipment. This study discusses the method of old surveying and recent surveying used for the three dimensional map of the site for lighthouse which gives navigational aids for the in-and out-bound ships. The authors are proposing a method for more precise three dimensional positioning in this study.

Utilization of Permanent Site Data for Accuracy Improvement in GPS Surveying - At the Subset Area of Jinan-Gun - (GPS 측량의 정확도 향상을 위한 상시관측 데이터의 활용 - 진안군 일부 지역에 있어서 -)

  • This study attempts to analyze both the mis-closures between triangulation points of 3 and 4 glade and permanent sites data, and accuracy of according as change the number of utilized GPS permanent sites and base lines for improvement of the accuracy in GPS surveying using permanent sites data. The result of this study show that the mis-closure between the two points and Jeonju/Chungju/Sangju/Daegu stations of NGI(National Geography Institute) are 0.0051 m, 0.0361 m, 0.0039 m and 0.0198 m respectively. It indicated that the mis-closures were less than the allowed values in the primary/secondary control point specification for GPS surveying, a mis-closure less than 30 mm for the distance less than 30 km and a mis-closure less than 1 PPM${\times}$D(km) for the distance greater than 30 km. Jinan 11 of actual surveying point for the base line 21.4911 km in Jeonju permanent site and 87.8156 km in Sangju permanent site, northing and easting for planimetric errors of Jinan 11 are 0.0120 m and 0.0113 m, northing and easting for planimetric errors of Jinan 12 are 0.0122 m and 0.0115 m.

  • Map update is essential for maintaining reliability of maps. Update could be performed using variety of data sources such as aerial photos, engineering plans, LiDAR data and in-site surveying data.   • The network RTK surveying has been widely used in the field of cadastral surveys in recent years, and its use is gradually expanding. As a result of the implementation of GPS static surveys by civilian companies in accordance with the progress of the cadastral surveys and gradual civilian transfer plans and cadastral surveys, there has been an increase in the number of civilian companies performing surveys. In this paper, we describe the process of applying the results of analysis of conformity using the network RTK site calibration function on the local coordinate system to the GPS static surveying of the cadastral reference points in Anyang city. In addition, the measurement results of the network RTK site calibration function and the results of the GPS static surveying network reconciliation in the local coordinate system were compared, and the performance was determined within 0.04m maximum of RMSE(Root Mean Square Error), and further study on the application method is needed.

  • Recently, industrialization of a country is accelerated and request of society infrastructure is raised so national land development is activity view. Accordingly, the search for a wide-ranging buried heritage do acted in large construction region. Because the buried heritage get buried in land that it is necessary to the precision search and research for a record and a preservation. Until now, Surveying techniques of a historic site have made status map, profile and cross section map through leveling survey, total-station survey and sketch of specialist. So, to solve problems existing relic survey or drawing making method have using digital camera these researches rapidly and economically obtain stereo image of object and present a technique that constructs 3D image model for digital photogrammetry method. Also, these researches construct 3D image model for record and preservation of a historic site through site test and in 3D and graphical express a historic site and support works that produce other maps if we need it. offer base data of GIS (Geographic Information System) to collect and analyze overall, information of a historic site.

  • Correct evaluation of cut and fill volume of soil is one of the most important factors which controls construction cost in enormous construction sites. To achieve accurate computation of soil volume in construction site precise surveying is required, however most of construction sites adopt existing optical surveying instruments such as Total Station. The problem when using these optical instruments in construction sites is that these instruments take longer time in data acquisition. Due to insufficiency of computation time accurate and precise observation cannot be accomplished with these equipments. As a result roughly calculated earthwork volume may cause arguments between contractors and supervisors in the matter of reduction or increasement of total construction cost. In this study VRS-RTK Surveying is adopted to perform fast and accurate in-situ surveying for rapid computation of soil volume. This VRS-RTK Surveying system is proved to have more accurate three dimensional coordinates with high density and better economical solution with less manpower.
