In this study, vibration control of the enclosed plate which is typical two dimensional structure are performed by using intelligent control method and piezo ceramic as an actuator attached at the plate. The characteristics of the plate with piezo ceramic are examined to identify the natural frequencies. Then, the plate is controlled under the sinusoidal excitation by acoustic source and the reduction level of vibration is examined via frequency response and time sequence. The control result shows the effect of the intelligent control method as a control scheme compared with that of the previous filtered-X LMS algorithm.

An exact solution procedure is formulated for the free vibration and buckling analysis of rectangular plates having two opposite edges simply supported when these edges are subjected to linearly varying normal stresses. The other two edges may be clamped, simply supported or free, or they may be elastically supported. The transverse displacement (w) is assumed as sinusoidal in the direction of loading (x), and a power series is assumed in the lateral (y) direction (i.e., the method of Frobenius). Applying the boundary conditions yields the eigenvalue problem of finding the roots of a fourth order characteristic determinant. Care must be exercised to obtain adequate convergence for accurate vibration frequencies and buckling loads, as is demonstrated by two convergence tables. Some interesting and useful results for vibration frequencies and buckling loads, and their mode shapes, are presented for a variety of edge conditions and in-plane loadings, especially pure in-plane moments.

Wheel-rail noise is normally classified into three catagories : rolling, squeal and impact noise. In this paper, rolling noise caused by the irregularity between a wheel and rail is analysed as follows: The irregularity between the wheel and rail is assumed as combination of sinusoidal profiles. Wheel-rail contact stiffness is linearized by using Hertzian contact theory, and then contact force between the wheel and rail is calculated. Vibration of the rail and wheel is calculated theoretically by receptance method or FEM depending on the geometry of wheel or rail for the frequency range of 100-5000Hz, important for noise generation. The radiation caused by those vibration is computed by BEM. To verify this analysis tools, rolling noise is calculated by preceding analysis steps using typical roughness data and it is compared with experimental rolling noise data. This analysis tools show reasonable results and used for the prediction of KTX rolling noise.

This research proposes a method to estimate the fatigue life of SSD(solid-state drive) due to the effect of dummy solder ball under forced vibration. A finite element model of the SSD was developed to simulate the forced vibration and a modal testing was performed to verify the developed finite element model. Fatigue life of the SSD under vibration was experimentally determined according to JEDEC standard in which the SSD was excited by a sinusoidal sweep vibration within the narrow frequency band around the first natural frequency until the SSD fails. Basquin's equation was introduced to estimate the fatigue life of the SSD due to the effect of dummy solder balls. It shows that the dummy solder balls are effective elements of the SSD to increase the fatigue life of an SSD by increasing 700 times of the fatigue life of the given SSD.

In the case of the Back EMF voltage contains the harmonics, the motor torque ripple and vibration is occurred by the current pulsation, because IPMSM control algorithm is the model which is assumed that it contains a sinusoidal Back EMF voltage. To improve ride quality, in the case of IPMSM for EV, improving the torque control characteristics is necessary. Therefore, there is a need to minimize the influence of the harmonics. In this paper, the investigation to decrease the current distortion factor has been performed for improving torque control characteristics by applying the non-sinusoidal Back EMF to IPMSM model.
In the present investigation, the nonlinear dynamic buckling of a curved plate subjected to sinusoidal loading is examined. By the theoretical analyses, a highly nonlinear snap-through motion of a clamped-free-clamped-free plate and its effect on the overall vibration response are investigated. The problem is reduced to that of a single degree of freedom system with the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure. The resulting nonlinear governing equation is solved using Runge-Kutta (RK-4) numerical integration method. The snap-through boundaries, which vary with different damping coefficient and linear circular frequency of the flat plate are studied and given in terms of force and displacement. The relationships between static and dynamic responses at the start of a snap-through motion are also predicted. The analysis brings out various characteristic features of the phenomenon, i.e. 1) small oscillation about the buckled position-softening spring type motion, 2) chaotic motion of intermittent snap-through, and 3) large oscillation of continuous snap-through motion crossing the two buckled positions-hardening spring type. The responses of buckled plate were found to be greatly affected by the snap-through motion. Therefore, better understanding of the snap-through motion is needed to predict the full dynamic response of a curved plate.

For high efficiency and easy speed control of brushless DC (BLDC) motor, the demand of BLDC motor is increasing. Especially demand of interior permanent magnet (IPM) BLDC with high efficiency and high power in electric motion vehicle is increasing. However, IPM BLDC basically has a high cogging torque that results from the interaction of permanent magnet magnetomotive force (MMF) harmonics and air-gap permeance harmonics due to slotting. This cogging torque generates vibration and acoustic noises during the driving of motor. Thus reduction of the cogging torque has to be considered in IPM BLDC motor design by analytical methods. This paper proposes the cogging torque reduction method for IPM BLDC motor. For reduction of cogging torque of IPM BLDC motor, this paper describes new technique of the flux barriers design. The proposed method uses sinusoidal form of flux density to reduce the cogging torque. To make the sinusoidal air-gap flux density, flux barriers are applied in the rotor and flux barriers that installed in the rotor produce the sinusoidal form of flux density. Changing the number of flux barrier, the cogging torque is analyzed by finite element method. Also characteristics of designed model by the proposed method are analyzed by finite element method.
The objective of this article is investigation of dynamic response of thick multilayer functionally graded (FG) beam under generalized dynamic forces. The plane stress problem is exploited to describe the constitutive equation of thick FG beam to get realistic and accurate response. Applied dynamic forces are assumed to be sinusoidal harmonic, sinusoidal pulse or triangle in time domain and point load. Equations of motion of deep FG beam are derived based on the Hamilton principle from kinematic relations and constitutive equations of plane stress problem. The numerical finite element procedure is adopted to discretize the space domain of structure and transform partial differential equations of motion to ordinary differential equations in time domain. Numerical time integration method is used to solve the system of equations in time domain and find the time responses. Numerical parametric studies are performed to illustrate effects of force type, graduation parameter, geometrical and stacking sequence of layers on the time response of deep multilayer FG beams.

The application of fast tool servo (FTS) for diamond turning has been investigated extensively. This paper focuses on the fabrication of the sinusoidal microstructure on a roller, which generated by a piezoelectric-assisted FTS. The influence of the machining parameters on the microstructure configuration was investigated. The experiment results point out that the configuration of the machined microstructure depends mainly on the spindle speed, the diameter of roller and the driving frequency of FTS. The calculation method of the microstructure dimension was reported. The turning test results show that the diamond tool can be moved up to 1kHz without any reinjected vibration in the machining and the peak-to-valley amplitude of the machined sinusoidal microstructure is about 12<${\mu}m$
In this paper, an LPM controller using microprocessor was implemented and adopted Microstep method to control the LPW. In Microstep method, current waveform is sinusoidal not square. This method is characterized by less vibrating, less noisy, and more precise position control. Also, we simulate the static thrust characteristics for each waveform. The experiment was performed according to the mechanical vibration at the acceleration mode and slewing mode. The current tracks reference sinusoidal waveform well and stability was improved as we expected. Therefore, the possibility of the open loop position control was proposed.
