RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 사파이어 기판과 ZnO 박막 위에 증착한 AlN 박막의 특성분석 (Growth of AlN Thin Film on Sapphire Substrates and ZnO Templates by RF-magnetron Sputtering)

  • 먼저 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 사파이어 기판 위에 AlN 박막을 증착하였다. AlN 공급원으로는 분말소결된 AlN 타겟을 적용하였다. 플라즈마 파워를 50에서 110 W로 증가시켰을 때 AlN 층의 두께는 선형적으로 증가하였다. 그러나 동작압력을 3에서 10 mTorr로 증가시켰을 때는 동작기체인 아르곤 양이 증가함에 따라 AlN 타겟으로부터 스퍼터링되어 나온 AlN 입자들의 평균자유행정의 거리가 감소하기 때문에 AlN 층의 두께는 약간 감소하였다. 질소 기체를 아르곤과 섞어주었을 때는 질소의 낮은 스퍼터링 효율에 의해서 AlN의 두께는 크게 감소하였다. 다음으로는 ZnO 형판 위에 AlN를 증착하였다. 그러나 700도 이상의 열처리에 의해서 AlN와 ZnO의 계면이 약간 분리되어 계면의 열적 안정성이 낮다는 결과를 얻었다. 게다가 스퍼터링으로 증착한 AlN 박막의 나쁜 결정성으로 인하여 700도에서 MOCVD의 반응기 기체인 수소와 암모니아에 의해서 AlN 밑의 ZnO 층이 분해되는 현상도 관찰하였다. 그리고 900도 이상에서는 ZnO가 완전히 분해되어 AlN 박막이 완전히 분리되었다.

  • The $\beta$-SiC+$ZrB_2$ ceramic composites were pressureless-sintered and annealed by adding 4, 8, 12wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$(6 : 4wt%) powder as a liquid forming additives at $1800^{\circ}C$ for 4h. The relative density is over 79.3% of the theoretical density and phase analysis of the composites by XRD revealed of $\alpha$-SiC(6H, 4H), $ZrB_2$, $Al_{5}Y_{2}O_{12}$ and $\beta$-SiC(15R). Flexural strength showed the highest of 301.33MPa for composites added with 8wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ additives at room temperature. Owing to crack deflection and crack bridging of fracture toughness mechanism, the fracture toughness showed the highest of $3.6979MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ for composites added with 8wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ additives at room temperature. The electrical resistivity was measured by the Pauw method from $25^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$. The electrical resistivity of the composites showed the PTCR(Positive Temperature Coefficient Resistivity).

Reaction Sintering에 의한 ZnO : $Al_{2}O_{3}$ 합성물의 구조 및 광학적 특성 (The Structural and Optical Properties of ZnO : $Al_{2}O_{3}$ Compound by Reaction Sintering)

  • ZnO 분말과 $Al_{2}O_{3}$ 분말을 1 : 1의 mole 비로 ball milling 시킨 후, 압착하여 펠렛을 제작하였다. 소성시 분위기를 진공으로 유지하기 위하여 각각 $3{\times}10^{-5}$ Torr의 진공도로 석영관에 봉입한 다음 $900^{\circ}C{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$로 소성하였다. 실험결과, $900^{\circ}C{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$까지는 ZnO, $Al_{2}O_{3}$$ZnAl_{2}O_{4}$의 혼합구조를 보이다가 $1200^{\circ}C$에서 (311), (220)면등의 주된 피크를 갖는 다결정으로 성장하여 $ZnAl_{2}O_{4}$ 삼원화합물의 구조가 확인되었고, 전자현미경촬영에 의해 화합물의 결정화된 입자들이 관찰되었다. 광흡수측정에 의해 에너지 밴드갭은 약 4.53 eV로 계산되었으며, PL 스펙트럼은 소결온도의 상승에 따라 단파장영역으로 이동하여, $1200^{\circ}C$에서 430nm부근에서 발광피크를 보였다.

Glycine-Nitrate Process를 이용한 고온 수증기 전해용 (La, Sr)$MnO_3$ 전극의 합성 및 특성 연구 (Preparation and Characterization of (La, Sr)$MnO_3$ Electrode for High Temperature Steam Electrolysis by Glycine-Nitrate Process)

  • LSM powder material for an oxygen-electrode(anode) of High Temperature Steam Electrolysis (RISE) was synthesized by a Modified-Glycine nitrate process(GNP). Amount of nitric acid and its concentration was varied to find out an appropriate composition for the oxygen-electrode(anode). In order to optimize the amount of Glycine used as an oxidant of self-combustion process, the ratio of Glycine to Anion was varied. $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}MnO_3$, $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}MnO_3$, and $La_{0.2}Sr_{0.8}MnO_3$ were synthesized in this study. Those LSM were dried for overnight to remove moisture from the material at $110^{\circ}C$ and were calcined 2 hours at $650^{\circ}C$ and were sintered in a furnace for 5 hours at $1400^{\circ}C$. Their structures, surface morphologies, surface areas, and weight changes were investigated with XRD, SEM, BET, and TG/DTA. The best perovskite phase for the oxygen-electrode of HTSE was obtained with $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}MnO_3$ formula in which 100 ml of 3M nitric acid was used in the preparation of its formula. The optimized ratio of Glycine to Anion was 2.

Interfacial modulus mapping of layered dental ceramics using nanoindentation

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to test the modulus of elasticity (E) across the interfaces of yttria stabilized zirconia (YTZP) / veneer multilayers using nanoindentation. MATERIALS AND METHODS. YTZP core material (KaVo-Everest, Germany) specimens were either coated with a liner (IPS e.max ZirLiner, Ivoclar-Vivadent) (Type-1) or left as-sintered (Type-2) and subsequently veneered with a pressable glass-ceramic (IPS e.max ZirPress, Ivoclar-Vivadent). A $5{\mu}m$ (nominal tip diameter) spherical indenter was used with a UMIS CSIRO 2000 (ASI, Canberra, Australia) nanoindenter system to test E across the exposed and polished interfaces of both specimen types. The multiple point load - partial unload method was used for E determination. All materials used were characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X - ray powder diffraction (XRD). E mappings of the areas tested were produced from the nanoindentation data. RESULTS. A significantly (P<.05) lower E value between Type-1 and Type-2 specimens at a distance of $40{\mu}m$ in the veneer material was associated with the liner. XRD and SEM characterization of the zirconia sample showed a fine grained bulk tetragonal phase. IPS e-max ZirPress and IPS e-max ZirLiner materials were characterized as amorphous. CONCLUSION. The liner between the YTZP core and the heat pressed veneer may act as a weak link in this dental multilayer due to its significantly (P<.05) lower E. The present study has shown nanoindentation using spherical indentation and the multiple point load - partial unload method to be reliable predictors of E and useful evaluation tools for layered dental ceramic interfaces.

액상소결에 의한 $\beta-SiC-TiB_2$ 복합체의 제조와 특성 (Manufacture of $\beta-SiC-TiB_2$ Composites Densified by Liquid-Phase Sintering)

  • The effect of $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ additives on fracture toughness of $\beta-SiC-TiB_2$ composites by hot-pressed sintering were investigated. The f$\beta-SiC-TiB_2$ ceramic composites were hot-presse sintered and annealed by adding 16, 20, 24wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$(6 : 4wt%) powder as a liquid forming additives at low temperature($1800^{\circ}C$) for 4h. In this microstructures, the relative density is over 95.88% of the theoretical density and the porosity increased with increasing $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ contents because of the increasing tendency of pore formation. The fracture toughness showed the highest of $5.88MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ for composites added with 20wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ additives at room temperature. The electrical resistivity showed the lowest of $5.22{\times}10^{-4}\Omega{\cdot}cm$ for composite added with 20wt% $Al_{2}O_{3}+Y_{2}O_{3}$ additives at room temperature and is all positive temperature coefficient resistance (PTCR) against temperature up to $700^{\circ}C$.

졸-겔법을 이용한 고체산화물연료전지의 전해질 박막 제조 및 가스 투과도 (Preparation of Thin Film Electrolyte for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell by Sol-Gel Method and Its Gas Permeability)

  • In this study, thin electrolyte layer was prepared by 8YSZ ($8mol\%$ Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia) slurry dip and sol coating onto the porous anode support in order to reduce ohmic resistance. 8YSZ polymeric sol was prepared from inorganic salt of nitrate and XRF results of xerogel powder exhibited similar results $(99.2\pm1wt\%)$ compared with standard sample (TZ-8YS, Tosoh Co.). The dense and thin YSZ film with $1{\mu}m$ thickness was synthesized by coating of 0.7M YSZ sol followed by heat-treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. Thin film electrolyte sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ showed no gas leakage at the differential pressure condition of 3 atm.

칩인덕터용 NiCuZn-ferrites 나노 분말합성 및 하소 온도에 따른 특성 변화 (Synthesis of Nano-sized NiCuZn-ferrites for Chip Inductor and Properties with Calcination Temperature)

  • 본 연구에서는 칩 인덕터용 코어 소재로 사용되는 NiCuZn-ferrite를 공침법을 이용하여 나노크기의 초미세 분말로 합성하고, 합성된 NiCuZn-ferrite의 하소 온도에 따른 저온소결 특성 및 전자기적 특성에 관하여 고찰하였다. 조성은 (N $i_{0.4-X}$C $u_{x}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1+w}$(F $e_2$ $O_4$)$_{1-w}$에서 x 값을 0.2, w 값은 0.03으로 고정하였고, 하소는 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 7$50^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 진행하였다. 하소 후 90$0^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 시편의 특성을 측정한 결과, 공침법으로 합성한 NiCuZn-ferrite는 90$0^{\circ}C$의 저온에서 소결밀도 4.90g/㎤, 초기투자율 164, Q-factor 72임을 확인하였다. 또한, NiCuZn-ferrite의 미세구조는 하소온도가 증가함에 따라 입자가 커지고 불균일한 상태가 되며, 초기투자율 등의 ferrites의 전자기적 특성이 저하되었다.되었다.

Sintering Behavior of $Cr_2 O_3$-doped $UO_2$ Pellets

  • This work investigates the effects of Cr$_2$O$_3$ and oxygen potential on grain growth and densification of UO$_2$ pellets. Powder mixtures of UO$_2$ and 0.03-0.4wt% Cr$_2$O$_3$ were pressed and sintered in 3 different gas atmospheres: the $H_2O$-to-H$_2$ ratios were 5$\times$10$^{-4}$ , 1$\times$10$^{-2}$ and 3$\times$10$^{-2}$ In the first gas atmosphere the Cr$_2$O$_3$ contents below 0.2 wt% have an insignificant effect on grain size, but the Cr$_2$O$_3$ contents more than 0.3 wt% promote grain growth in the inner zone of a pellet but not in the outer zone. In both the second and third atmospheres, the grain size increases with the Cr$_2$O$_3$ content. With the same level of Cr$_2$O$_3$ content the grain size is larger in the second atmosphere than in the third. Sintering behavior and developed microstructure are discussed in terms of the reduction of C$r^2$O$^3$ to Cr, the dissolution of C$r^2$O$^3$ in UO$_2$, and liquid phase sintering.

나노구조 Fe-Co 연자성 합금의 제조를 위한 PECS 공정 연구 (PECS Process for Fabrication of Nanostructured Fe-Co Softmagnetic Alloy)

  • 본 연구에서는 기계적 합금화 공정을 통하여 평균 10nm의 크기를 가지는 결정립으로 이루어지는 나노구조 Fe-Co 합금분말을 제조하였으며 제조된 합금분말을 PECS 공정으로 소결하여 벌크의 나노구조 Fe-Co 연자성 합금을 제조하고자 하였다. PECS 공정은 소결온도를 700, 800, 900과 100$0^{\circ}C$로 변화시키고 유지시간을 0에서 16분가지 변화시켜주며 수행하였다. PECS 공정의 나노구조 소결체 제조에 관한 효율성을 평가하였으며 소결온도와 유지시간의 변화에 따른 소결밀도와 미세구조의 변화를 관찰하여 최적의 소결조건을 찾고자하였다. 또한 각 소결조건에서 제조된 소결체들의 보자력과 포화자화값을 측정하여 자성특성을 평가하였다.
