  • We report on a wide-viewing liquid crystal (LC) display with bi-level microstructures spontaneously formed by selective wetting on a chemically heterogeneous surface. The bi-level microstructures serve as spacers for maintaining uniform cell gap, as well as protrusions for wide-viewing properties. Our LC cell having the bi-level microstructures shows good electro-optic properties.

  • Recently the railway becomes principal transportation on account of the important role in mass transit and commute in urban area. However, rail noise and vibration raise a major problem for the residents living nearby railway track. At that point of view, the effective counterplan for the soundproofing and protection of vibration has to be considered in the process of railway design. Therefore, the reliable computation of load caused by running train on rail is very important to estimate vibration of structure adjacent to railway. In this study, Input identification is used for the calculation of load and vibration, induced by high speed train on rail. The influence of railroad noise and vibration on structure is evaluated using the 3-D Finite element method and the reliability of the evaluation is discussed comparing with the results of the field measurements.

  • Indoor air quality is an important determinant of human health and comfort. However, the complexity of pollution sources and the multitude of parties responsible for creating indoor exposures makes the improvement of air quality difficult. The HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) system is important facility to provide comfortable environment passenger service. The Ministry of Environment is established "Indoor Air Quality Management guidelines in Public Facilities"in December 2006. Hereupon, the train and the subway are included. In this research air quality in the Subway compartment has been measured. As a result, the concentrations of PM10 and $CO_2$ were reached to 93% and 61% of the regulation values, respectively. Thus, the indoor air qualities of subway have been proved that they satisfy the recommended guidelines by the Ministry of Environment.

  • A replica-molding method of fabricating a dual-gap substrate for transflective liquid crystal (LC) displays is demonstrated. The dual-gap substrate provides homeotropic alignment for the LC molecules without any surface treatment and embedded bilevel microstructure on one of the two surfaces to maintain different cell gaps between the transmissive and reflective subpixels. The proposed transflective LC cell shows no electro-optic disparity between two subpixels and reduces the panel thickness and weight by 30% compared to the conventional transflective LC cell, which has two glass substrates.

  • An inverse-twisted-nematic (ITN) transflective (TRF) liquid crystal (LC) display, where two imprinted optical films (IOFs) with surface microstructures are embedded was developed. One of the IOFs serves as an in-cell patterned retarder with multioptic axes, and the other behaves as a viewing-angle enhancement film. In the presence of an applied voltage, the surface microstructures on the IOFs provide the spontaneous twist of the LC from a vertically aligned state to a $90^{\circ}$ twisted-nematic (TN) state in the transmissive part, and to a $45^{\circ}$ TN state in the reflective part. The developed ITN TRF LC display exhibits high transmission and reflectance, fast response, and wide-viewing characteristics, along with achromaticity.

  • I. Introduction Bi(痺) means blocking. It can reach at the joints or muscles or whole body and make pains. Numbness and movement disorders. BiJeung can be devided into SilBi and HeoBi. In SilBi there are PungHanSeupBi, YeolBi and WanBi. In HeoBi, there are GiHyeolHeoBi, EumHeoBi and YangHeoBi. The common principle for the treatment of BiJeung is devision of the chronic stage and the acute stage. In the acute stage, BiJeung is usually cured easily but in the chronic stage, it is difficult. In the terminal stage, BiJeung can reach at the internal organs. BiJeung is one kind of symptoms making muscles, bones and jonts feel pain, numbness or edema. For example it can be gout or SLE etc. Many famous doctors studied medical science by their fathers or teachers. So the history of medical science is long. So I studied ${\ll}Bijeungjujip{\gg}$. II. Final Decision 1. BanSuMun(斑秀文) thought that BiJeung can be cured by blocking of blood stream. So he insisted that the important thing to cure BiJeung is to improve the blood stream. He usually used DangGuiSaYeokTang(當歸四逆湯), DangGuiJakYakSanHapORyeongSan, DoHong-SaMulTang(桃紅四物湯), SaMyoSanHapHeuiDongTang and HwangGiGyeJiOMulTang. 2. He usually used SipJeonDaeBoTang(十全大補湯), DangGuiDaeBoTang(當歸大補湯), YoukGunJaTang(六君子湯) and YukMiJiHwanTang(六味地黃湯). 7. • Autophagy is an intracellular degradation pathway for large protein aggregates and damaged organelles. Recent studies have indicated that autophagy targets cargoes through a selective degradation pathway called selective autophagy. Peroxisomes are dynamic organelles that are crucial for health and development. Pexophagy is selective autophagy that targets peroxisomes and is essential for the maintenance of homeostasis of peroxisomes, which is necessary in the prevention of various peroxisome-related disorders. However, the mechanisms by which pexophagy is regulated and the key players that induce and modulate pexophagy are largely unknown. In this review, we focus on our current understanding of how pexophagy is induced and regulated, and the selective adaptors involved in mediating pexophagy. Furthermore, we discuss current findings on the roles of pexophagy in physiological and pathological responses, which provide insight into the clinical relevance of pexophagy regulation. Understanding how pexophagy interacts with various biological functions will provide fundamental insights into the function of pexophagy and facilitate the development of novel therapeutics against peroxisomal dysfunction-related diseases.

  • Alkali-soluble extracts were prepared from barks of Japanese larch(Larix leptolepis). Siberian larch(Larix gmelineii) and Radiata pine(Pinus radiata) The effect of various factors, such as particle size, liquor ratio, extraction temperature, and reaction time, on the extracts yield was investigated. Particle sizes affected the alkali-soluble extracts; the finer the particle size, the higher extracts and extract efficiency. High temperature and high liquor ratio were more effective. In the range of 0.25% to 1% NaOH concentration, alkali extracts were increased with the increasing alkali concentration. However, extract yields were leveled off above 0.5% alkali concentration. Extractions with NaHCO3 were almost equivalent to those of NaOH extraction. 1% NaOH and 1% NaHCO3 resulted in the highest yields of alkaline extracts. Extracts from Japanese larch were lower than those from Siberian larch and Radiata pine barks. Siberian larch bark was the best raw material for tannin adhesives, because its extractive yield was higher than those of the other barks. Concerning pH of alkaline media during extraction, small increases of the extract yields were resulted at range of pH 7 to pH 9, while a large increases from pH 9.0 to pH 12. This phenomenon is attributed to higher alkalinity.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the possibility of production of kittens by a non-surgical intrauterine insemination (NIUI) or intra-vaginal insemination (IVI) with the Norwegian catheter and using a frozen epididymal sperm (FES). Semen was collected epididymal sperm and frozen in Tris-buffered with 50 × 10/sup 6//㎖. The motility and progressive motility of FES was approximately 40.3±5.8% and 35.9±6.5% after thawing.
