  • This paper is on 3D virtual reality simulator for terminal in connection with terminal operation system in real terminal in order to reflex complicated terminal operation and environment. This simulator has been developed based on knowledge of terminal planning and operation analysis and advanced software technologies that TSB has accumulated over 10 years. In this study, the simulator generates terminal layout and component of terminal in the same environments as the real terminal in Ohi, Japan and uses real operation system using real planning data in the past in order to describe 3D VR simulation that integrates container handling equipment and real time communication of job ordering. In addition, it is suggested various statistics and analysis report can be used to derive decision supporting factors that optimize design of terminal and improve operation, which will eventually increase terminal productivity.

  • Today, effective utilization of sophisticated networks greatly influences the activities of a business, making performance evaluations of computer network systems a necessity, We have developed a special computer network simulator capable of automatically generating a model based on data accumulated by a network analyzer to guide the user in selecting ideal parameters. The simulator was developed to provide user-friendly analysis for engineers involved in the actual network design. This paper gives an overview of the simulator and describes an example application of evaluating a network design that anticipates the future increase in traffic for a company introducing voice over frame relay (VoFR) into a wide area network (WAW).

  • Test in the development of vehicle consist of driving test and simulation test. The last one has many advantages. It can reduce time and cost during development, can overcome the spacial and environmental limitation, and can provides repeatabilities of similar experiments and various data. In these reason, the simulation test is used more for analysis and development of new vehicle. In this research the result of kinematic analysis on multi-axis simulator is compared with the simulated result using dynamic analysis program, ADAMS, and the maximum stress and strain are analyzed for the safety of link and specifications of optimal design using finite element method.

A Symbolic Computation Method for Automatic Generation of a Full Vehicle Model Simulation Code for a Driving Simulator

  • This paper deals with modeling and computer simulation of a full multibody vehicle model for a driving simulator. The multibody vehicle model is based on the recursive formulation and a corresponding simulation code is generated automatically from AUTOCODE, which is a symbolic computation package developed by the authors using MAPLE. The paper describes a procedure for automatically generating a highly efficient simulation code for the full vehicle model, while incorporating realistically modeled components. The following issues have been accounted for in the procedure, including software design for representing a mechanical system in symbolic form as a set of computer data objects, a multibody formulation for systems with various types of connections between bodies, automatic manipulation of symbolic expressions in the multibody formulation, interface design for allowing users to describe unconventional force-and torque-producing components, and a method for accommodating external computer subroutines that may have already been developed. The effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method have been demonstrated by the simulation code developed and implemented for driving simulation.

  • In the recent day, fatigue life prediction techniques play a major role in the design of components in th ground vehicle industry. Full scale durability testing in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structure of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, multi-axis durability testing simulator is used to car교 out the fatigue test. In this paper, the operation software for simultaneously driving 3-axis simulator is developed and the real-time signals of input-output data are displayed in window of PC. Moreover, the displacements and the loads of 3-axis actuators are calibrated separately and the operating characteristics of the actuators are evaluated.

후리에 표시자를 이용한 포탈영상과 시뮬레이터 영상의 자동결합 (Automatic Image Matching of Portal and Simulator Images Using courier Descriptors)

  • We develop an automatic imaging matching technique for combining portal image and simulator image for improvements in localization of treatment in radiation therapy. Fusion of images from two imaging modalities is treated as follows. We archive images thxough a frame-yabber. The simulator and portal images are edge detected and enhanced with interpolated adaptive histouam equalization and combined using geometrical parameters relating the coordinates of two image data sets which are calculated using Fourier descriptors. We don't use any kind of imaging markers for patient's convenience. clinical use of this image matching technique for treatment planning will result in improvements in localization of treatment volumes and critical structures. These improvements will allow greater sparing of normal tissues and more precise delivery of energy to the desired irradiation volume.

  • Railway system is consisted of various resources such as rail-line, signal, and railcar. It is necessary to efficiently utilize these limited and expensive resources as much as possible up to given line capacity. So far, we treat the line capacity as the criteria for evaluating investment alternatives or for restricting train frequencies, and this criteria is calculated statical and experimental numerical formula. But, line capacity has special attribute that changes dynamically according to operational conditions, so there is a need of new line capacity estimation system. In this paper, we present an improved systematic line capacity model. The proposed model has three main components ; TPS(tain performance simulator), PES (parameter evaluation simulator), LCS(line capacity simulator). The concept of each sub-component is described, including the evaluation method of capacity parameters. And capacity parameter evaluation and estimation results using sample line section data are presented.

  • Many changes in the railway environment has directly affected to the railway company. To cope immediately with the influence of environment and to promote productivity, the railway company has to introduce an efficient train operation system and related core technologies. The railway system is composed or large-scale infrastructures ann high-cost trains. Simulation method is one or core technologies and also is efficient tool for planning and analyzing this kind of complex system. The purpose of this research is to develop multi-train traffic simulator considering high-speed train for GyongBu-Line. To achieve this objective, the elements of railway system was analyzed, and as a result, a data structure modeling for the railway system such as rail-Tine infrastructure, rain, timetable and operational route is presented. The developed simulator is composed of three major part : input-module, main-module, and output module. The concept and brief explanation of each module will be treated.

  • We developed the training simulator for KEPCO operators to maintain small-scale distribution automation system effectively. The training simulator has the same screen form and operating environments in comparison with using system in field. It is to be wished that the operating techniques of KEPCO operators will progress to solve the fear of system operation and to training simulations of distribution conditions again and again.

  • A siumlator had been developed and used for reliability verification on medium size steam turbine control programs prior to its actual operation in field. A mathematical model on thermal dynamics pertaining to prime mover steam turbine and electrical generator was realized and included in this simulator. Also, many operating data acquired from fields was utilized in order to decide mechanical and thermal dynamic characteristics such as friction loss, windage loss and inertia. A user can decide closing or opening velocity of steam stop valve and steam regulation valve. This simulator is able to generate steam pressure, turbine speed, electrical power, and power system frequency.
