국내 희유금속 수급구조 분석 연구 (Analysis of Structure in the Domestic Supply & Demand of the Raw Materials of Rare Metals)

  • 본 연구는 35여종의 희유금속을 대상으로 광석(정광), 금속, 화합물, 스크랩 등 4개 유형으로 광종별 원재료를 범주화하고 교역 구조를 분석하였다. 우리나라 희유금속원재료 교역 규모는 점차 확대되어 교역 증가폭이 GDP 증가폭을 큰 폭으로 상회하고 있다. 희유금속 원재료는 실리콘, 니켈, 크롬, 몰리브덴, 망간 등 철강원료자원 위주로 수입이 주로 이루어지고 있으며 전자공업원료자원 중 인듐, 게르마늄 등은 총교역규모 1억불 이하의 작은 규모로 수입추이변화에 미치는 영향은 제한적이나 연간증가율이 20%를 상회하여 지속적인 수급관리가 필요하다. 수입규모는 수출규모의 약 3배이며 희유금속 원재료 수출입 유형은 국내산업구조 및 수요의 특성에 따라 광종별로 다양한 양상을 보이고 있으나 수입, 수출 모두 상당수가 금속형태로 교역이 이루어지고 있다.

잉곳 슬라이싱용 Saw Wire의 연삭마모에 미치는 인장특성과 미세조직의 영향 (Effects of Tensile Properties and Microstructure on Abrasive Wear for Ingot-Slicing Saw Wire)

  • Saw wires have been widely used in industries to slice silicon (Si) ingots into thin wafers for semiconductor fabrication. This study investigated the microstructural and mechanical properties, such as abrasive wear and tensile properties, of a saw wire sample of 0.84 wt.% carbon steel with a 120 ${\mu}M$ diameter. The samples were subjected to heat treatment at different linear velocities of the wire during the patenting process and two different wear tests were performed, 2-body abrasive wear (grinding) and 3-body abrasive wear (rolling wear) tests. With an increasing linear velocity of the wire, the tensile strength and microhardness of the samples increased, whereas the interlamellar spacing in a pearlite structure decreased. The wear properties from the grinding and rolling wear tests exhibited an opposite tendency. The weight loss resulting from grinding was mainly affected by the tensile strength and microhardness, while the diameter loss obtained from rolling wear was affected by elongation or ductility of the samples. This result demonstrates that the wear mechanism in the 3-body wear test is much different from that for the 2-body abrasive wear test. The ultra-high tensile strength of the saw wire produced by the drawing process was attributed to the pearlite microstructure with very small interlamellar spacing as well as the high density of dislocation.

인버터식 고효율 네온관용 변압기 (Inverter type High Efficency Neon Transformers for Neon Tubes)

  • 무방향성 규소강판을 사용한 자기식 네온관용 변압기는 내구성이 좋은 반면에 용량에 따른 규소 강판의 무게가 무겁고 외형이 큰 관계로 네온관 설치 작업 시 상당히 불편한 점이 많다. 또한 네온관의 다양한 디스플레이 제어성면에서도 비합리적 이었다. 이를 개선하기 위한 방법으로 네온 트랜스포머의 전원장치 및 2차측 고압 출력부를 고속의 고주파 스위칭 파워 트랜지스터(MOSFET)를 이용하여 상용주파수 60[Hz]를 고속 스위칭 제어를 통하여 20[KHz]의 고주파로 변환시킨후, 네온관을 방전시키기 위한 고전압을 발생시키는 인버터식 네온관용 변압기를 구현하였다. 또한 네온관의 파손이나 누전으로 인한 화재나 인체 감전의 위험을 사전에 방지할 수 있는 보호회로 GFCI(Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter)를 제안 하였다.

Fabrication of a robust, transparent, and superhydrophobic soda-lime glass

  • Micro- and nanoscale texturing and control of surface energy have been considered for superhydrophobicity on polymer and silicon. However these surfaces have been reported to be difficult to meet the robustness and transparency requirements for further applications, from self cleaning windows to biochip technology. Here we provided a novel method to fabricate a nearly superhydrophobic soda-lime glass using two-step method. The first step involved wet etching process to fabricate micro-sale patterns on soda-lime glass. The second step involved application of $SiO_x$-incorporated DLC to generate high intrinsic contact angle on the surface using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. To investigate the effect of surface roughness, we used both positive and negative micro-scale patterns on soda-limeglass, which is relatively hard for surface texturing in comparison to quartz or Pyrex glasses due to the presence of impurities, but cheaper. For all samples we tested the static wetting angle and transparency before and after 100 cycles of wear test using woolen steel. The surface morphology is observed using optical and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results shows that negative patterns had a greater wear resistance while the hydrophobicity was best achieved using positive patterns having static contact angle up to 140 deg. with about 80% transparency. The overall experiment shows that positive patterns at etching time of 1 min shows the optimum transparency and hydrophobicity. The optimization of micro-scale pattern to achieve a robust, transparent, superhydrophobic soda-lime glass will be further investigated in the future works.

Synthesis of Core/Shell Graphene/Semiconductor Nanostructures for Lithium Ion Battery Anodes

  • Lithium-ion battery (LIB) is one of the most important rechargeable battery and portable energy storage for the electric digital devices. In particular, study about the higher energy capacity and longer cycle life is intensively studied because of applications in mobile electronics and electric vehicles. Generally, the LIB's capacity can be improved by replacing anode materials with high capacitance. The graphite, common anode materials, has a good cyclability but shows limitations of capacity (~374 mAh/g). On the contrary, silicon (Si) and germanium(Ge), which is same group elements, are promising candidate for high-performance LIB electrodes because it has a higher theoretical specific capacity. (Si:4200 mAh/g, Ge:1600 mAh/g) However, it is well known that Si volume change by 400% upon full lithiation (lithium insertion into Si), which result in a mechanical pulverization and poor capacity retention during cycling. Therefore, variety of nanostructure group IV elements, including nanoparticles, nanowires, and hollow nanospheres, can be promising solution about the critical issues associated with the large volume change. However, the fundamental research about correlation between the composition and structure for LIB anode is not studied yet. Herein, we successfully synthesized various structure of nanowire such as Si-Ge, Ge-Carbon and Si-graphene core-shell types and analyzed the properties of LIB. Nanowires (NWs) were grown on stainless steel substrates using Au catalyst via VLS (Vapor Liquid Solid) mechanism. And, core-shell NWs were grown by VS (Vapor-Solid) process on the surface of NWs. In order to characterize it, we used FE-SEM, HR-TEM, and Raman spectroscopy. We measured battery property of various nanostructures for checking the capacity and cyclability by cell-tester.

보강롤 구동 4 단 냉간압연기에서 작업롤의 수평하중 거동분석과 안정위치 결정을 위한 해석적 및 수치적 고찰 (Analytical and Numerical Investigation of Horizontal Force and Stable Position of Work Roll in Backup-Roll-Drive 4-High Cold-Rolling Mill)

  • 보강롤 구동 4 단 냉간압연기에서 작업롤과 보강롤 사이의 접촉력으로 인해 발생된 작업롤의 수평력을 고찰하였다. 본 수평력은 작업롤을 수평방향으로 휘게하고 롤갭 형상을 그 만큼 변화시킨다. 본 논문에서는 압연을 정상상태라고 가정하여 작업롤의 수평력을 예측할 수 있는 수식모델을 제시하였다. 해석에 사용된 소재는 고-실리콘(약 3%) 강판이었다. 수평력의 비-정상거동을 고찰하기 위해서 삼차원 유한요소모델을 채용하였다. 두 가지 모델을 이용하여 작업롤의 수평력은 보강롤의 중심으로부터 작업롤의 중심이 벗어난 길이에 따라 변한다는 결과를 얻었다. 그리고 작업롤의 수평력을 최소화 시킬 수 있는 작업롤의 최적 중심이탈 길이를 도출하였다.

Thermodynamical bending analysis of P-FG sandwich plates resting on nonlinear visco-Pasternak's elastic foundations

  • In this research, the study of the thermoelastic flexural analysis of silicon carbide/Aluminum graded (FG) sandwich 2D uniform structure (plate) under harmonic sinusoidal temperature load over time is presented. The plate is modeled using a simple two dimensional integral shear deformation plate theory. The current formulation contains an integral terms whose aim is to reduce a number of variables compared to others similar solutions and therefore minimize the computation time. The transverse shear stresses vary according to parabolic distribution and vanish at the free surfaces of the structure without any use of correction factors. The external load is applied on the upper face and varying in the thickness of the plates. The structure is supposed to be composed of "three layers" and resting on nonlinear visco-Pasternak's-foundations. The governing equations of the system are deduced and solved via Hamilton's principle and general solution. The computed results are compared with those existing in the literature to validate the current formulation. The impacts of the parameters (material index, temperature exponent, geometry ratio, time, top/bottom temperature ratio, elastic foundation type, and damping coefficient) on the dynamic flexural response are studied.

표면시험법을 이용한 식품접촉표면 재질에 따른 살균소독제의 유효성 평가 (Evaluation of the Efficacy of Sanitizers on Food Contact Surfaces Using a Surface Test Method)

  • 현재 미국 및 유럽에서 공정시험법 중 하나로 인정되고 있는 표면시험법을 사용하여 유기물과 함께 또는 유기물 없이 세균만 건조된 식품접촉 표면에서의 살균소독제 유효성에 대한 정보를 제공하고자 식품접촉표면으로 사용되는 스테인리스, 폴리프로필렌 및 실리콘에 Escherochia coli ATCC 10536 또는 Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538을 접종하고 살균소독제로서 염화벤잘코늄, 차아염소산나트륨 또는 에탄올을 $20^{\circ}C$에서 5분간 처리하였다. 그 결과, 각 표면의 종류는 살균소독제의 유효성에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 200 ppm 농도의 염화벤잘코늄 및 차아염소산나트륨은 유기물질이 존재할 경우 생균수를 $4\;cfu\;\log_{10}$/carrier 이상 감소시키지 못하였으나, 40% 에탄올은 생균수를 $4\;cfu\;\log_{10}$/carrier 이상 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다.

Ni buffer layer를 사용한 Si3N4/S.S316 접합체에서 접합계면의 미세구조 변화가 접합체의 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Microstructural Change in Joint Interface on Mechanical Properties of Si3N4/S.S316 joint with Ni Buffer layer)

  • Si3N4/stainless steel 316 joints with Ni buffer layer were fabricated by direct active brazing method (DIB) using Ag-Cu-Ti brazing alloy only and double brazing method (DOB) using Ag-Cu brazing alloy with Si3N4 pretreated with Ag-Cu-Ti brazing alloy. For the joint brazed by DIB method, Ti was segregated at the Si3N4/brazing alloy interface, but was not enough to form a stable joint interface. In addition, large amounts of Ni-Ti inter-metallic compounds were formed in tehbrazing alloy near the joint interface, which could deplete the contents of Ti involved in the interfacial reaction. However, for the joint brazed by DOB method, segregation of Ti at the joint interface were enough to enhance the formation of stable interfacial reaction products such as TiN and Ti-Si-Ni-N-(Cu) multicompounds, which restricted the formation of Ni-Tio inter-metallic compounds in the brazing alloy during brazing with Ni buffer layer. Fracture strength of Si3N4/S.S 316 joints with Ni buffer layer was much improved by using DOB method rather than DIB method. It could be deduced that the differences of fracture strength of the joint with Ni buffer layer depending on brazing process adapted were directly affected by the formation of stable joint interface and the change in microstructure of the brazing alloy near the joint interface. It was found that fracture strength of Si3N4/S.S 316 joints with Ni buffer layer was gradually reduced as the thickness of interface. It was found that fracture strength of Si3N4/S.S 316 joints with Ni buffer layer was gradually reduced as the thickness of Ni buffer layer in the joint was increased from 0.1 mm to 10 mm. It seems to due to the increased residual stress in the joint as the thickness of Ni buffer layer is increased. The maximum fracture strength of Si3N4/S.S 316 joints with Ni buffer layer was 386 MPa, and the fracture of joint was originated at Si3N4/brazing alloy joint interface and propagated into Si3N4 matrix.

국내 희유금속 원재료 교역구조 변화 분석 연구 (Analysis of Changes in Trade Structure of the Raw Materials of Rare Metals in Korea)

  • 첨단산업의 원재료로 사용되는 희유금속은 국내 산업구조변화와 기술변화에 따라 수요구조와 공급망이 변화하며, 가격 변동성이 높아 주기적으로 수요구조 변화분석을 시행하는 것이 필요하다. 국내에서는 대부분의 희유금속 수요를 수입에 의존하고 있어 교역구조 변화를 분석하는 것을 통해 국내 수요변화를 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 희유금속 35종을 대상으로 광석(정광), 금속, 합금, 화합물, 스크랩 등 5개 유형별로 2000년부터 2022년까지 교역규모, 교역증가율, 교역순위, 교역국가 등의 변화를 분석하였다. 우리나라 희유금속 원재료 교역은 '09년과 '16년의 큰 폭의 하락을 제외하고는 2000년대 이후 전반적으로 증가하는 추세로, 수출과 수입을 모두 포함하는 총교역규모는 '01년 대비 '22년 10배가량 증가하였다. 2010년대 중반까지는 규소, 니켈, 크롬, 몰리브덴, 망간 등 철강산업 원료 위주로 교역이 이루어졌으나 그 이후에는 팔라듐, 로듐, 백금 등의 백금족과 리튬, 코발트 등의 이차전지 원료의 교역이 증가하였다. 특히 '22년에는 리튬의 수요증가와 가격급등으로 인해 리튬이 가장 큰 교역 비중을 차지하였다.
