In this study, it was purposed to derive the structural factors of spatial storytelling in historical theme parks, and to understand the impact of user's awareness and constituent factors on user responses. Based on previous researches, the structural factors of spatial storytelling in historical theme parks were derived related to theme, experientiality, unusualness, educationalness, unity, expressiveness, interactivity, and interest, and for which the users' awareness was surveyed. The survey was conducted targeting the users of Samguk Yusa Theme Park located in Gunwi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, where the collected data was analyzed using EXCEL2020 and SPSS 21.0 statistical programs, and the results are as follows: First, the spatial storytelling technique applied as a conveying method of the theme of Samguk Yusa Theme Park affects users' satisfaction and intention to revisit, and most respondents responded that the storytelling was significant. • The aim of this study was to examine how customers perceive storytelling at a real local restaurant and to understand how consumption reflects their evaluation by understanding their values. Participants received information from a real local restaurant in the Gangneung area to examine the effects of storytelling and to evaluate their affective attitudes towards local restaurant stories, word-of-mouth intentions, and purchasing intentions using a seven-point Likert scale. A total of 310 consumers were used. A factor analysis was performed to identify consumption value characteristics and factor structure, which consisted economic value, emotional value, and epistemic value. To test whether local restaurant consumers could be classified into homogenous groups based on their consumption values, a three cluster solution was selected, and a Kmeans cluster analysis was performed. As a result, three groups were identified and labeled appropriate for their scores based on each of the consumption values; emotional value-oriented consumers to cluster 1, epistemic value-oriented consumers to cluster 2, and economic value-oriented consumers to cluster 3. An analysis of variance was used to examine the differences in the affective attitudes towards storytelling at the local restaurant, purchasing intentions, and word-of-mouth intentions across the three clusters. The epistemic value-oriented consumers had the highest score for all three variables. In contrast, economic value-oriented consumers had the lowest scores for the three variables. A regression analysis revealed that affective attitudes towards storytelling were significantly affected by these three consumption values. It also showed that positive affective attitudes towards storytelling were associated with higher purchasing intention and word-of-mouth. The significance of this study was to show how customers perceive storytelling at a real restaurant and reflect on their evaluation by understanding their consumption values. As a result, this study examined the potential power of storytelling as an effective marketing communication tool for local restaurants.

  • Storytelling is a compound of two words, 'story' and 'telling'. While the static aspect of 'story' has been emphasized, the dynamic and specific aspect of telling has been ignored. So, in the argument of 'storytelling', it is necessary to break from talking about 'story' and discuss the matter in terms of 'telling' and 'interaction'. In order to accept this need, the term 'Traditional Storytelling' is coined to engage 'oral-storytelling situation' more actively. When 'storytelling' is expressed by a storyteller, it can be referred to 'traditional storytelling', called 'oral performance'. In fact, the storytelling, which has a long history, originated from oral storytelling such as 'oral narration'. It is natural that our current storytelling isn't the same storytelling of an oral period, but the traditional storytelling casts a few crucial viewpoints to us these days when 'telling' has a significant meaning. In the first place, it is 'reflexivity' that we should note in the form of traditional 'storytelling'. It is a kind of self-reference which means reflecting and looking back at oneself in the form of narration. Through this reflexivity, the storytelling is affected by the site of telling and an aspect of one-off thing very frequently. Another point we need to note is a frame. Through this frame, the traditional storytelling come to hold time and space of narration.

  • This study began with the problem of establishing the identity of the region through tourism storytelling and the need for economic and cultural recovery. Thus, we analyze the attributes of tourist-aware tourism storytelling, authenticity through experience in tourist attractions, and structural and causal relationships between behaviors. Studies have shown that the attributes of tourism storytelling's sensibility, educationality, ease of understanding, interest and theme have a significant impact on tourists' authenticity experiences. And it was confirmed that the authenticity experience of tourists has a positive impact on tourists' intentions of visiting and oral intentions. This study is of high academic significance in that it applied the attributes of storytelling, which had been studied in the existing linguistics and humanities, to Namwon, a representative cultural tourist destination in Korea. In addition, in order for Namwon to grow into a global cultural tourist destination, it is necessary to develop tourism storytelling using unique storytelling attributes and local resources, and furthermore, it is meaningful to suggest that various contents and services should be developed.
