  • This paper presents the design and control of a small Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor for entertainment robots. In order to control the developed BLDC motor, Adaptive Fuzzy Control (AFC) scheme via Parallel distributed Compensation(PDC) is developed for the multi- input/multi-output plant model represented by the Takagi-Sugeno(TS) model. The alternative AFC scheme is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for the systems with uncertain or slowly time-varying parameters. The developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system. In addition, the plant state tracks the state of the reference model asymptotically with time for any bounded reference input signal. The suggested design technique is applied to the velocity control of a developed small BLDC motor for entertainment robots.

  • This is Presents experimental results of a force tracking controller for a quarter-car suspension system. The active suspension system was decomposed into two loops. At the main loop, the desired force signal is calculate by using a standard LQ design process. The Time Delay Control(TDC) design technique is then used to design the force controller such that the desired force signal is achieved in a robust manner when actuator or other plant uncertainties are present. The ADAMS controls module was used to realize the joint simulation of ADAMS and MATLAB, of which the results showed that the TDC strategy is reasonable and feasible.

  • In this paper, in order to control uncertain chaotic system, an adaptive fuzzy control(AFC) scheme is developed for the multi-input/multi-output plants represented by the Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy models. The proposed AFC scheme provides robust tracking of a desired signal for the T-S fuzzy systems with uncertain parameters. The developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system. In addition, the chaotic state tracks the state of the stable reference model(SRM) asymptotically with time for any bounded reference input signal. The suggested AFC design technique is applied for the control of an uncertain Lorenz system based on T-S fuzzy model such as stabilization, synchronization and chaotic model following control(CMFC).

  • In this paper, a direct model reference adaptive fuzzy control (MRAFC) scheme is developed for the plant model whose structure is represented by the MIMO Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model. The MRAFC scheme is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal lot the systems with uncertain or slowly time-varying parameters. The developed control law and adaptive law guarantee that all signals in the closed-loop system are bounded. In addition, the plant state tracks the state of the reference model asymptotically with time tot any bounded reference input signal.

  • The control scheme using fuzzy modeling and Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) concept is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for the flexible joint manipulators with uncertain parameters. From Lyapunov stability analysis and simulation results, the developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop multi-input/multi-output system. • In this paper, a parameter estimator is developed for the plant model whose structure is represented by the Takagi-Sugeno model. The essential idea behind the on-line estimation is the comparison of the measured stated with the state of an estimation model whose structure is the same as that of the parameterized model. Based on the parameter estimation scheme, and indirect Model Reference Adaptive Fuzzy control(MRAFC) scheme is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for the systems with uncertain for slowly time-varying parameters. The developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop systems. In addition, the plant state tracks the state of the reference model asymptotically with time for any bounded reference input signal.

  • An utility voltage information, including the frequency, phase angle and amplitude is very important in many industrial systems. The grid-connected photovoltaic system in the limelight as alternative energy needs utility voltage information such as frequency, phase angle and magnitude to connect the grid-line. In this paper, it proposes the instantaneous phase-tracking in PLL that uses the frequency from the utility voltage as a sync signal and locks the phase with compensation for phase difference from DPT algorithm. It also proposes not only DFT algorithm execution by every sample not by one period, but also phase-tracking method in a wide range of frequency not a fixed one. This paper shows the feasibility and the usefulness of the proposed methods through the computer simulation and the experiment.

  • In photovoltaic system, the characteristics of photovoltaic module such as open circuit voltage and short circuit current will be changed because of cell temperature and solar radiation. Therefore, the boost converter of a PV system connects between the output of photovoltaic system and DC link capacitor of grid connected inverter as controlling duty ratio for maximum power point tracking(MPPT). This paper shows the dynamic characteristics of the boost converter by comparing single-loop and two-loop control algorithm using both analog and digital control. Both proposed compensation methods have been verified with computer simulation to demonstrate the validity of the proposed control schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified AFC algorithm which is suitable for the implementation of WCDMA reverse link receiver modem. To reduce the complexity, the modified CP-FDD algorithm named 'Normalized CP-FDD' is applied to the AFC loop. The proposed FDD algorithm overcomes the conventional CP-FDD's sensitivity to the variance of input signal amplitude and increases the linear range of S -curve. Therefore, offset frequency estimation using the proposed scheme can be more stable than the conventional method. Unlike IS-95, since pilot symbol in WCDMA is not transmitted continuously, we introduce a moving average filter at the FDD input to increase the number of cross-product. So, tracking speed and stability are improved. For more rapid frequency acquisition and tracking, we adopt a multi-stage tracking mode. Using NCO having ROM table structure, the frequency offset is compensated. We applied the proposed algorithm in the implementation of WCDMA base station modem successfully.

  • This paper proposes a novel code tracking scheme to track the fine code synchronization for BOC(pn,n) modulated spreading signals. The correlation function of BOC(pn,n) modulated spreading signals has been several peaks. In this paper, we observe that the correlation function in the advanced offset region remains almost unchanged, due to the multipath signals being received later than a line-of-sight signal. Based on this observation, we propose a novel code tracking scheme which is called the advanced region correlation (ARC) method for BOC(n,n) modulated spreading signals. And, we compare with the code tracking accuracy between the conventional and proposed methods in the static multipath and land mobile satellite system channels through the Monte-Carlo simulation. Then, base on the proposed scheme, we propose the generalized-ARC (ARC) scheme for BOC(pn, n) modulated spreading signals.
