  • This paper concerns on application of active magnetic bearing(AMB) system to levitate the elevation axis of an electro-optical sight mounted on moving vehicles. In such a system. it is desirable to retain the elevation axis within the predetermined air-gap while the vehicle is moving. A disturbance compensation control is proposed to reduce the base motion response. In the consideration of the uncertainty of the system model, a filtered-x least-mean-square(FXLMS) algorithm is used to estimate adaptively the frequency response function of the feedforward control which cancels disturbance responses. The frequency response function is fitted to an optimal feedforward control. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control reduces the air-gap deviation to 27.7% that by feedback control alone.

가상 자전거 시스템을 이용한 고령자의 평형감각 증진에 관한 연구 (Study on the Improvement of Equilibrium Sense of the Elderly Using Virtual Bicycle System)

  • In this paper, a new rehabilitation training system was developed to improve equilibrium sense by combining virtual reality technology with a fixed exercise bicycle. The subjects consisted of two groups. A group of young people, was compared against a group of elderly. We measured three different running modes of virtual bicycle system with two successive sets. The parameters measured were running time, velocity, the weight movement, the degree of the deviation from the road, and the variables about the center of pressure. The repeated training, our results showed that the running capability of the elderly improve compared, In addition, it was found out that the ability of postural control and the equilibrium sense was improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information of the distribution of weight. From the results of this experiment, we showed that our newly developed system might be useful in the diagnosis of equilibrium sense or in the improvement of the sense of sight and, somatic, and vestibular sense of the elderly in the field of rehabilitation training.

  • 프레온계 냉매의 지구온난화와 오존층파괴 문제로 인해 대체냉매로서 R-410A가 주목을 받고 있다. 이러한 대체냉매를 세관에 적용시킬 경우 효율을 향상시킬 뿐만 아니라 지구환경에 미치는 영향을 감소시키고, 대기를 청정하게 만드는 기술 및 방안으로 각광 받고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 R-22의 대체냉매로 각광받고 있는 R-410A의 세관응축기 내에서의 응축열전달 특성에 대해 실험적으로 고찰하고자 하였다. 실험장치는 유동양식, 열전달, 압력강하 특성을 파악할 수 있도록 제작되었고, 주요 구성품은 냉매펌프, 증발기, 응축기(시험부), 사이트 글라스(가시화부), 압력탭, 측정장치 등이다. 시험부의 내관은 내경 3.36 mm와 5.35 mm인 수평평활 동관이다. 실험변수들의 범위로서 질량유속 $200{\sim}500\;kg/m^2s$이고, 열유속은 $1.0{\sim}2.4\;kW$이다. R-410A의 응축열전달 계수가 R-22에 비해 최대 5% 정도 높은 것을 알 수 있었다. 세관 내 R-410A와 R-22의 유동양식은 환상류 영역이 지배적으로 나타남을 관찰하였고, 건도가 0.2 이하인 영역에서는 성층류가 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다. 내경 3.36 mm의 압력강하가 내경 5.35 mm에 비해 $30{\sim}50%$정도 높았다. 종래의 응축 열전달 상관식과 실험데이터를 비교한 결과, Fujii의 상관식과 최대 40%이내에서 일치하였다.

NICU에 입원한 미숙아 어머니의 스트레스 (Study on the Perceived Stress Level of Mothers in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)

  • With advances in neonatal medicine, smaller and sicker infants are surviving premature birth. As these tiny patients battle for their lives, their parents also struggle with psychological consequences of an unexpected role. The birth of a sick infants has long been documented as stressful events for the parents. High stress levels may alter parents' interaction with their baby and impair their communication with health professionals, which can in turn affect parents' participation in care planning and decision making. Nursing interventions aimed at reducing the parental stress and anxiety levels during this crisis may have a positive impact on their ability to form an attatchment to their baby and make prudent decisions about his care. The planning of such interventions would be inhanced if the contributions of various factors to increased parental stress levels were identified. This descriptive study was conducted to understand the contents and degree of parental stress in the NICU during their premature's hospitalization, and to give a baseline data in developing nursing intervention program. Subjects were the 60 mother of hospitalized newborn in NICU of 2 University Hospital in Taejon City from April 1st, 1999 to June 30th, 1999, who agreed to take part in this study. The instrument used in this study were Parental Stressor Scales:NICU(PSS:NICU) developed by Miles et al.. and validated by 3 NICU practitioners and 3 child health nursing faculties. The questionnaire has 4 dimensions and 45 items; sight and sounds of NICU(5 items), babies' appearance and behavior nursing intervention(19 items), parental role alteration and relationship with their baby(10 items), health team communication(11 items). The questionnaire asks parents to rate each item on a five-point Likert type scale that ranges from "not stressful" (1) to "extremely stressfu1"(5). Total scores representing overall stress from the NICU environment are calculated by summing response to each item. A high score indicates high stress. A subscale score is calculated by summing the responses to each item in the subscale. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficients were .93. The data was analyzed as average, Frequency, Standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient by use of SPSS/PC+. The results of this study is summarized as follows ; 1. The total perceived stress level score of mothers of premature baby was slightly high($3.66{\pm}1.1$). The highest scored dimension was 'relationship with their baby and parental role change'($4.21{\pm}0.9$), and next were 'appearance and behavior of the baby'($3.92{\pm}1.1$), 'communication with health team'($3.32{\pm}1.3$), 'sight and sounds of NICU'($3.30{\pm}1.1$). 2. There were statistically significant correlation noted ; mother's perceived severity of the baby's condition(F=8.0012, P= .0125) and baby's gestational age(r = -.4724, P = .0500). In summary, information about physical environment of NICU, the mother's perceived severity of premature baby's state, maternal role change related variables and the knowledge of characteristics of premature baby must be included in nursing intervention program of mother's of premature baby in reducing the parental stress and anxiety level. It is suggested that each NICU needs to develop a nurse managed supportive care program for parents of premature baby. Also, it is suggested that there need to investigate the coping mechanism of mother of premature baby.

PAT 기반 온도장 보간을 이용한 관측위성의 열지향오차해석 (Thermal pointing error analysis of the observation satellites with interpolated temperature based on PAT method)

  • 본 논문에서는 계절 및 주야의 온도변화를 고려한 관측위성의 열지향오차해석을 실시한다. 관측위성은 임무수행기간 동안 다채널의 관측센서를 이용해서 지구표면의 영상을 촬영한다. 그러나 주야 및 계절별로 최대 200도의 온도환경 차이가 발생하며 이로 인해 관측센서 및 별추적기의 시선벡터가 변화되고 정해진 목표지점의 영상촬영이 어렵다. 이런 문제를 사전예측하고 대응하기 위해서 열지향오차해석을 실시한다. 우선 궤도열환경해석으로부터 도출된 성긴 온도장 정보를 상세한 구조유한요소모델에 PAT기법을 이용해 보간하여 온도변화에 따른 열변형해석을 수행하였다. PAT로 보간된 온도분포의 정확도를 검증하였으며, 열변형해석결과로부터 열지향오차를 도출하였다.

The repeated training, our results showed that the running capability of the elderly improve compared. In addition, it was found out that the ability of postural control and the equilibrium sense was improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information of the distribution of weight.   • The purpose of this study was to explore the effectives of a virtual bicycle system in improving the ability of equilibrium sense of normal healthy adults. Experiments were performed to find the factors related to the training of equilibrium sense. The subjects consisted of young and elderly people and the group of young people was compared against the group of elderly people. We investigated three different running modes of virtual bicycle system with two successive sets in total. W measured the parameters related to the running time, the velocity, the weight movement, the degree of the deviation from the road, and the location of the center of pressure (COP). The results showed that the running capability of the elderly became much better after repeated training. In addition, it was found out that the ability to control postural balance and the capability of equilibrium sensory were improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information of the distribution of weight. We also found that the running time and the running velocity reduced when there was no visual feedback information. From the results, our newly developed bicycle system seems to be effective in the diagnosis of equilibrium sense as well as in the improvement of the sense of sight, and vestibular function of the elderly in the field of rehabilitation training.

조타장치 제어에 의한 횡동요 감소 효과 (Effects for reduction of roll motion by the control of steering gear)

  • Reduction of ship's rolling is the most important performance requirement for improving the safety of the crew on board and preventing damage to cargo as well as improving the comfort of the ride. It is a common experience for mariners, to see that steering with a rudder generally induces rolling of the ship, though the original aim of the rudder is to keep the ship's heading to the required course. At the first stage, when a rudder is steered, usually a ship heels in an inward direction, due to the roll moment acting on the rudder. At the next stage in steering, the main heel may change to an outward. This coupling between rudder and roll motion has become an attractive problem from the point of view of roll stabilization using the rudder, because it is a natural in sight that if the rudder action is skillfully related to the change of roll as well as to the course deviation, the roll can be reduced to a certain degree. The main aim of this paper is to discuss the results of the actual full-scale sea trials carried out on steer gear No.1 and No.1 2, the individual quartermaster and to make clear their statistical properties, using the actual data which included measurement of roll angle, roll rate and the comparative tests were carried out immediately after each other, in order to minimize any statistical variation in sea conditions. It can be concluded that the steer gear No. 1 2 reduced the roll motion on average by about 21% in comparison with the No.1 and confirmed the some difference as per a ability of quarter-master's maneuver.

Topography, Vertical and Horizontal Deformation In the Sulzberger Ice Shelf, West Antarctica Using InSAR

  • We construct improved geocentric digital elevation model (DEM), estimate tidal dynamics and ice stream velocity over Sulzberger Ice Shelf, West Antarctica employing differential interferograms from 12 ERS tandem mission Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images acquired in austral fall of 1996. Ice, Cloud, and land Elevation Satellite (ICESat) laser altimetry profiles acquired in the same season as the SAR scenes in 2004 are used as ground control points (GCPs) for Interferometric SAR (InSAR) DEM generation. 20 additional ICESat profiles acquired in 2003-2004 are then used to assess the accuracy of the DEM. The vertical accuracy of the OEM is estimated by comparing elevations with laser altimetry data from ICESat. The mean height difference between all ICESat data and DEM is -0.57m with a standard deviation of 5.88m. We demonstrate that ICESat elevations can be successfully used as GCPs to improve the accuracy of an InSAR derived DEM. In addition, the magnitude and the direction of tidal changes estimated from interferogram are compared with those predicted tidal differences from four ocean tide models. Tidal deformation measured in InSAR is -16.7cm and it agrees well within 3cm with predicted ones from tide models. Lastly, ice surface velocity is estimated by combining speckle matching technique and InSAR line-of-sight measurement. This study shows that the maximum speed and mean speed are 509 m/yr and 131 m/yr, respectively. Our results can be useful for the mass balance study in this area and sea level change.
