QS-9000 was established by Chrysler, Ford, General Motors and some Truck Manufactures to solve problems of efforts to prepare original standards for each company. When we compare the requirements in QS-9000 with those in ISO 9000, we may observe that those of QS-9000 are more specific, since the user of the standard is limited to the automobile industry. In particular, the requirements on statistical techniques are described in more detail. In this paper, we present the requirements on statistical techniques in QS-9000. Specifically, we review the contents of QS-9000 and explore the philosophy and the minimum requirement on statistical techniques behind the description.

In this work, we investigate the existence of the extremal solutions for a class of fractional partial differential equations with order 1 < ${\alpha}$ < 2 by upper and lower solution method. Using the theory of Hausdorff measure of noncompactness, a series of results about the solutions to such differential equations is obtained.

We introduce here notions of chain recurrent sets, attractors and its basins for general dynamical systems and prove important properties including (i) the chain recurrent set CR(f) of f on a metric space (X, d) is the complement of the union of sets B(A) -A as A varies over the collection of attractors and (ii) genericity of general dynamical systems.

The present study was carried out to investigate the optimal conditions on blastogenesis of guinea pig lymphocytes. A microculture system in conjuction with a semiautomatic multiple sample harvester was used to study the in vitro optimal condition of guinea pig lymphocytes. Careful analysis of lymphocyte transformation to concanavalin A (Con A) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) mitogen determined optimal conditions as: (a) 10% fetal bovine serum in RPMI-1640 medium (b) 48-hour culture period.

This poster summarizes numerical collapse calculations of non-rotating and rotating singular, isothermal toroids that employed the zeus2d (Norman and Stone 1992) magnetohydrodynamics package. In the non-rotating collapse calculations, it is seen that infall proceeds at a constant rate and magnetically supported, high density pseudo-disks form in the equatorial plane. With rotating clouds, however, toroidal magnetic fields grow as infall proceeds, teaming with angular momentum to slow the inflow to the center and generate outflow.
