The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of CFBC artificial fine aggregate as a substitute for natural aggregate used in dry mortar. The basic performance of the flow, compressive strength and dry shrinkage of the dry mortar was evaluated. Four types of test dry mortar specimens using natural aggregate without expansion admixture, a specimen with modified CaO expansion admixture and natural aggregate, a specimen with modified CaO expansion admixture and CFBC artificial fine aggregate, and a specimen using CFBC artificial fine aggregate without modified CaO expansion admixture were evaluated respectively. As a result of evaluation of drying shrinkage performance at 20th day of age, the dry shrinkage performance of the specimen using modified CaO expansion admixture was found to be the highest at $250{\times}10^{-6}$. On the other hand, the specimen containing the modified CaO expansion admixture with CFBC artificial aggregate exhibited a shrinkage of $410{\times}10^{-6}$, and the drying shrinkage of specimen using natural fine aggregate without expansion admixture was $450{\times}10^{-6}$. When the modified CaO expansion material was used, and exhibited performance equal to or higher than that of the shrinkage-drying property.
Since ultra-high performance cementitious composites (UHPCC) not only represents high early age shrinkage strain due to its low water-to-binder ratio (W/B) and high fineness admixture usage but also reduces the cross section of structure from the higher mechanical properties, it generally has more shrinkage cracks from the restraints of formwork and reinforcing bars. In this study, free and restrained shrinkage experiments were conducted to evaluate the suitability of incorporating both expansive admixture (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA). The test results indi-cated that approximately 40~44% of free shrinkage strain was decreased. Also, the results showed that 35% and 47% of residual tensile stresses were relieved by synergetic effect of SRA and EA, respectively. Residual tensile stresses from ringtest were relaxed by approximately 61% and 64% of elastic shrinkage stresses due to SRA and EA, respectively, because of the tensile creep effect. Therefore, the creep effect should be considered to precisely estimate the restrained shrinkage behavior of concrete structures. The degree of restraint of UHPCC was approximately in the range of 0.78~0.85. The addition of combined EA and SRA showed minute influence on the degree of restraint. However, the effect decreased when thicker concrete ring was used. Tensile creep strains were measured and compared to the predicted values from 4-parametric prediction model considering time dependent restrained forces.

In this study, 150MPa ultra-high-strength concrete was manufactured, and its performance was reviewed. As technically meaningful autogenous shrinkage reportedly occurs at a W/B ratio of 40% or less, although it occurs in all concrete regardless of the W/B ratio, the effects of the use of expansive admixture and shrinkage reducer, or of the friction and restraint of forms that may result in the effective reduction of autogenous shrinkage, were reviewed. As a result, considering the flow and strength characteristics, it was found that the slump flow time was shorter with expansive admixture, and shortest with shrinkage reducer. All specimens with $30kg/m^3$ expansive admixture showed high strength at early material age. Their strength decreased due to the expansion cracks when there was excessive use of expansive admixture, and the use of shrinkage reducer did not influence the change in the strength according to the material age. The expansive admixture had a shrinkage reduction effect of 80%, while the shrinkage reducer had a shrinkage reduction effect of 30%, indicating that the expansive admixture had a stronger effect. It seems that mixing the two will have a synergistic effect. The shrinkage reduction rate was highest when the W/B ratio was 20%. The form suppressed the expansion and shrinkage at the early period, and the demolding time did not significantly influence the shrinkage. The results of the study showed that the excessive addition of expansive admixture leads to expansion cracks, and the expansive admixture and shrinkage reducer have the highest shrinkage reduction effect when they are mixed.

Water binder ratio combine high-performance concrete shrinkage of less than 0.4 to determine the transformation to a total shrinkage of water to move outside and internal consumption of moisture due to drying shrinkage and autogenous shrinkage, and then, the relative humidity changes and strain to be approached by surface physics describe the relationship between self-desiccation and autogenous shrinkage was set. To verify the self-desiccation in the humidity shrinkage and humidity measurements performed, and the research model, Tazawa, CEB-FIP model than to let the measure and the most similar results in this study based on self-desiccation model, autogenous shrinkage didn't represent the linear shrinkage by the drying shrinkage of the external moving but exponential relationships, unlike with the nature and rapid in the early age properly describes the attributes in shrinkage could see. After this research to move moisture and to reflect the shrinkage model, temperature, moisture transfer, strain analysis by multi-physics model is very similar to the results of mock-up specimen measurements performed for this research, the value measured by the internal consumption of moisture, therefore self-desiccation and a multi-physics model considering autogenous shrinkage might be relevant.
In the present work appropriate concrete material models have been proposed to predict drying shrinkage and specific creep of High-performance concrete (HPC) using Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The ANN models are trained, tested and validated using 106 different experimental measured set of data collected from different literatures. The developed models consist of 12 input parameters which include quantities of ingredients namely ordinary Portland cement, fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, water, and other aggregate to cement ratio, volume to surface area ratio, compressive strength at age of loading, relative humidity, age of drying commencement and age of concrete. The Feed-forward backpropagation networks with Levenberg-Marquardt training function are chosen for proposed ANN models and same implemented on MATLAB platform. The results shows that the proposed ANN models are more rational as well as computationally more efficient to predict time-dependent properties of drying shrinkage and specific creep of HPC with high level accuracy.

Recently, various concrete reinforcing fibers have been used to reduce the plastic shrinkage cracking which occurs before the concrete hardens. In this study, the physical properties of nylon fiber reinforced concrete such as slump, air content, compressive strength and tensile strength were investigated. In addition, the performance of nylon fiber in the plastic shrinkage cracking reduction of mortar has been estimated in comparison with polypropylene fiber and cellulose fiber. Nylon fiber showed considerable advantages in terms of the workability of concrete and the plastic shrinkage cracking reduction of mortar compared with polypropylene fiber and cellulose fiber.

Concrete structures often present volumetrical changes particularly due to thermal and moisture related shrinkages. Volumetric instability is detrimental to the performance and durability of concrete structures because structural elements are usually restrained. These restrained shrinkages develope tensile stresses which often results in cracking in combination with the low fracture resistance of concrete. Early-age defects in high-performance concrete due to thermal and autogenous deformation shorten the life cycle of concrete structures. Thus, it is necessary to examine the behavior .of early-age concrete at the stages of design and construction. The purpose of this study was to propose a shrinkage models of VES-LMC (very-early strength latex-modified concrete) at early-age considering thermal deformation and autogenous shrinkage.

Recently, ultra high performance fiber reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) having over 180 MPa compressive strength and 10 MPa tensile strength has been developed in Korea. However, UHPFRC represents different material properties with normal concrete (NC) and conventional high performance concrete (HPC) such as a high early age autogenous shrinkage and a rapid dry on the surface, because it has a low water-binder ratio and high fineness admixtures without coarse aggregate. In this study, therefore, to propose suitable experimental methods and regulations, and to evaluate mechanical properties at a very early age for UHPFRC, setting, shrinkage and tensile tests were performed. From the setting test results, paraffin oil was an appropriate material to prevent drying effect on the surface, because if paraffin oil is applied on the surface, it can efficiently prevent the drying effect and does not disturb or catalyze the hydration of cement. From the ring-test results, it was defined that the shrinkage stress is generated at the time when the graph tendency of temperature and strain of inner steel ring is changed. By comparing with setting test result, the shrinkage stress was firstly occurred as the penetration resistance of 1.5 MPa was obtained, and it was about 0.6 and 2.1 hour faster than those of initial and final sets. So, the starting time of autogenous shrinkage measurement (time-zero) of UHPFRC was determined when the penetration resistance of 1.5 MPa was obtained. Finally, the tensile strength and elastic modulus of UHPFRC were measured from near initial setting time by using a very early age tensile test apparatus, and the prediction models for tensile strength and elastic modulus were proposed.

Prepackaged system consists out of a dry mix which contains cement, sand, redispersible polymer powder and admixtures in the right proportions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products using redispersible poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate)(EVA) powder. Polymer-modified mortars using the redispersible polymer powder with powdered with powdered shrinkage-reducing agent were prepared with cellulose fiber contents of 0, 0.5, 1.0% and shrinkage-reducing agent contents of 0, 4%, and tested for drying shrinkage, strength, adhesion in tension, water absorption. From the test results, the prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products with 4% of shrinkage-reducing agent content give good properties. and that their properties largely depends on the shrinkage-reducing agent content rather than the cellulose fiber contents.
