영상미디어에서 매치 컷을 통한 시·공간 표현 연구 -영화<드라큘라>(1992)를 중심으로- (A study on the expression of space and time by match cut in the image media -focusing on the movie, Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)-)

  • 매치 컷(Match cut)은 영상미디어에서 활발히 사용되는 몽타주(montage) 기법이다. 이 기법은 활용의 범위가 넓고, 수용자에게 다양한 의미작용을 일으키는 기법이기도 하다. 본고에서는 쇼트와 쇼트 사이에 발생되는 의미작용에 바탕을 두고, 매치 컷 활용이 다양하게 표현되는 영화 <드라큘라>을 분석하였다. 매치 컷을 통한 오브젝트들의 결합방법과 도출되는 표현은 본문에서 살펴보았듯이 결합의 방법에 따라 발생되는 표현효과가 다르게 나타났고, 그 활용의 정도는 한정적이 않음을 알 수 있었다. 본고는 영화<드라큘라>에서 드러나는 매치 컷의 활용방법을 분석하고, 그 쓰임과 표현에 있어 매치 컷 표현의 역량을 제시하고자 하였다. 또, 앞의 과정에서 발생되는 생성역량을 중심으로 질 들뢰즈(Gilles Deleuze)의 철학적 쟁점에 바탕을 두었다. 그리고 이해를 돕기 위해 비슷한 의미작용이 드러나는 프란시스 베이컨(Francis Bacon)의 회화 작품 <회화(painting)>(1946)와 <자화상(self-portrait)>(1969)과 비교분석하였다. 이 두 미디어를 분석함으로써 쇼트와 쇼트사이에 유목(nomadism)적 방법으로 '오브젝트와 오브젝트', '색과 색'등을 통해, 결합 생성으로 발생되는 '되기(becoming)'의 의미작용이 다양하게 적용될 수 있음을 알았다.

골프의 짧은 어프로치 동작 시 타구의 정확성에 영향을 미치는 운동학적 변인 분석 (Kinematic Factors Influencing on the Precision of Short Approach Shoots in Golf)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of precision that kinematics had when short approach shots were taken. In this study, the subjects chosen were 5 skilled and 5 unskilled subjects, who were allowed to shoot 10 rounds of shots at target distances of 1m, 2m, 4m, and 8m. Three dimensional analysis was used as methods to obtain kinematics of each shots. In order to verify the statistical significance of the kinematic factors followed by the results of different skills and target distances, we used the two-way repeated ANOVA. The study was experimented within the level of p<.05. The results obtained were as follows: 1) the difference of shots of the forward and backward variations were larger than those of the left and right variations, the unskilled subjects' shot distances greatly got larger than that of the skilled subjects as the distance of the target increased, 2) not being affected by the target distance variations, the skilled subjects' rate of down-swing was shorter than the back-swing on short approach shots, 3) the skilled subjects' center of body weight tended to move more naturally towards the target when doing the down-swing to finish than that of the unskilled subjects on short approach shots, 4) the skilled subjects' right hand angle of cocking were narrower and tended to be kept much more consistent than that of the unskilled subjects on short approach shots, 5) the unskilled subjects when doing their back-swings, their right hips swayed towards the back, their trunk-flexion angles were shown to be lower than that of the skilled subjects on short approach shots, 6) the skilled subjects`body weight tended to move more naturally towards the left foot when doing the down-swing to finish than that of the unskilled subjects on short approach shots.

국내 남녀 중고 골프 선수들의 운동 상해 빈도 조사 (The Frequency of Sport Injury for the Junior Elite Golf Players in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of sports injury among Korean junior elite golf players. The survey was made through the questionnaire which consist of eight categories and 280 valid answers were used to perform frequency analysis. The results indicated that 197 out of 280 participants experienced golf injuries (30%: during a game, 70%: during a practice) and 70% of them also experienced injuries within a year. The frequency analysis for the site of injury has shown that back was the most vulnerable area for all players(33%), followed by the right wrist, left shoulder and elbow for male players. Among female players, left wrist was the second weak site of injury, followed by the right wrist, right thoracic spine, and left shoulder. A few of them also have shown abnormal symptoms of ruptured lumbar disk, scoliosis, and lordosis and these injuries might be caused by the lack of flexibility and the fatigue due to over-practice. High frequency of wrist injury also demonstrated that excessive chopping or punching shot and poor environmental course conditions may cause this injury to be common. Overall, lack of warm up time, lack of strength and flexibility, and excessive amount of practice were the major reasons of injury for the junior elite golfers in Korea. The study also proved that these young Korean golfers actually had more chances to be faced with the injury than average. Thus, it is necessary to develop systematic and scientific methods of training, and prevention, treatment of these injuries with medical professionals.

웹 카메라의 특성 분석 및 고해상도 행성촬영 (SPECIFIC ANALYSIS OF WEB CAMERA AND HIGH RESOLUTION PLANETARY IMAGING)

  • 일반적으로 웹 카메라는 PC간 화상통신을 위해 많이 쓰이고 있으나, 화소수도 적고 장시간 노출촬영도 불가능하기 때문에 천문용으로 사용하기에는 어려움이 있다. 하지만 장시간 노출이 필요 없는 달이나 행성 등을 촬영하기에는 부족함이 없기 때문에 아마추어 관측자들이 행성 촬영용으로 많이 이용하고 있다. 웹 카메라 중에 CCD를 사용한 Philips사의 ToUcam Pro II를 사용하여 행성촬영을 하였고, 촬영한 동영상은 상용 프로그램인 Registax를 이용하여 합성을 하였다. 또한 웹 카메라의 기본적인 특성을 알아보기 위해, CCD의 특성 분석에 활용하는 직선성, 이득 등의 특성을 살펴보았다. 행성 촬영할 때 기존에는 필름이나 디지털 카메라, CCD로 한 장씩 찍었지만, 웹 카메라로 촬영할 경우 동영상으로 촬영하여서 중은 이미지만을 골라서 합성하기 때문에, 훨씬 더 고해상도의 행성이미지 촬영이 가능하게 되었다. 행성관측 방법과 동영상 합성 방법 등에 대해 논의하기로 한다.

애니메이션에서 욕망 비주얼 스토리텔링 특징 분석 - 소속, 성취, 보호에 대하여 (An Analysis of Visual Storytelling Characteristics of Desire in Animation - Regarding Affiliation, Achievement, and Nurturance)

  • Successful Visual Story Telling(VST) of desire is a crucial key for the success of animation because desire is the leading power of story development of animation. An analysis of the desire of VST using the top 5 successful American feature film animations is carried out. Totally, 147 desire shots are extracted by using the proposed Objective Selection of Desire Shots(OSDS) method based on the theory of Makee's conflict and desire pursuing modeling, Maslow's 20 desire types, Greimas's actant model, and the 17 narrative process classification. In addition to them, the 5 Beat(5B) model of a scene is proposed. Five image specialists have evaluated VST of the selected 147 desire shots. For each shot, the desire type among the 20 desires and the strength are obtained. Among them, the top 3 desires(affiliation, achievement, and nurturance) appearing 51.8% are analyzed. The composition elements of shots affecting the desire type and the strength have found. These can be used for better VST of preproduction and production of animation.

칩 처리가 포함된 절삭유/폐유 분리 및 냉각 시스템 개발 (Development of Coolant/Waste-oil Separating and Cooling System with Chip Treatment)

  • For most machine tools, it is necessary to remove chips and coolant oil because it they will continue to be created during the manufacture of workpieces. Existing products that are in use are installed and used as they reflect depending on the characteristics of each device separately. This study proposes a method to remove the security chip as well as developing an integrated system capable of reducing coolant damage. The Leverage AutoCAD and CATIA program was used for 2D and 3D design, shapes were identified by utilizing the KeyShot program, and the load and displacement analysis of the development apparatus was performed utilizing the ANSYS program. After the prototype underwent sufficient design review, the mixed oil separation device had a complete sensor control program using the LabVIEW program. The chip design process for transferring experiments and experiments on the mixed oil cooling device were developed for performance tests of the product. The final product resulted in an increase in space utilization during commercialization, reduced installation costs, and caused social effects such as pulmonary flow reduction, which, through the economic costs, reduces pollution, resulting in various benefits to the industry, such as deceased errors in the workplace decreases.

디지털 이미지의 미학적 수용에 대한 연구 - 사실주의를 중심으로 - (Aesthetic Approach of Digital Images - Focus on Realism -)

  • 철학과 사상, 서사와 효과, 문화와 예술 영역으로 양분되어 논의되었던 포스트모더니즘의 담론은 디지털 테크놀로지의 발전으로 인하여 그 영역이 모호해졌다. 디지털 테크놀로지의 발전은 문화예술전반에 걸쳐 매체예술을 비롯하여 미학적 접근에 대하여도 변화를 가져왔다. 리얼리즘을 중심으로 디지털 이미지에 대한 해석은 기존의 이미지의 재현논리의 중심에서 디지털 기술이 만들어내는 이미지에 대한 특징 분석 및 해석과 함께 디지털 이미지들을 어떻게 수용해야하는가의 문제로 변화하고 있다. 하이퍼 리얼리티를 강조하는 디지털 이미지는 기존의 영화의 미학적 접근방식이 아닌 쇼트 단위로의 접근이 이루어져야 한다. 디지털 이미지는 프레임 단위 안에서 이미지의 현실 재현성을 강조하고 있으므로 기존의 총체적인 내러티브상의 영화 이미지의 미학적 특성에 대한 접근과는 다르게 이루어져야한다. CGI가 만들어내는 디지털 이미지는 프레임단위에서 재현되는 핍진성의 척도와 시뮬레이션, 극사실주의 개념으로써 해석이 이루어져야 하며 특히 환영성이 강조되는 영화에서는 내러티브상의 사실주의적 접근보다는 회화적 차원에서의 현실 재현적 차원으로의 미학적 접근이 이루어져야 한다.

2011 대구세계육상선수권대회 운동역학 프로젝트 수행 경과보고 (Sport Biomechanics Research Project at IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011)

  • The purpose of this study was to find the biomechanical research project result carried out at 2011 IAAF World championship in Daegu. This project was approved by the International Amateur Athletic Federation(IAAF) and financially supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism(MCST) and, Korea Association of Athletics Federations(KAAF). The total number of the project members was 20, including the members of the Scientific Committee, the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics(KSSB) and graduate students as assistants. The objective of this project has been to analyze the performance in the track events(100 m, 110 mH) and field events(Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Javelin Throw and Shot Put). This project was focused on the biomechanical research only. This kind of analysis has been carried out at major competitions for more than a decade, as it provides coaches and athletes with very useful information as an aid to training programmes and competition preparation. The biomechanical analysis of the top athletes in the world in each specialty serves as a reference for assessing technique and rationalizing the results achieved. The results will be disseminated world-wide and coaches will be in a better position to design training strategies in line with current world trends.

필드와 모션벡터의 특징정보를 이용한 스포츠 뉴스 비디오의 장르 분류 (Automatic Genre Classification of Sports News Video Using Features of Playfield and Motion Vector)

  • 비디오와 브라우징, 검색, 조작을 위해서 비디오 내용을 기술하는 색인이 요구된다. 지금까지 색인의 구성은 대부분 비디오 내용에 제한된 키워드를 수작업으로 할당하는 전문가에 의해 수행되었는데 이는 비용과 시간을 소비하는 사업이므로 비디오 내용을 자동으로 분류하는 것이 필요하다. 이 연구는 축구, 골프, 야구, 농구, 배구 등 5종의 스포츠 뉴스 비디오의 분석과 요약을 위해서 자동적이고 효율적인 방법을 제안한다. 우선, 스포츠 뉴스 비디오를 앵커 장면과 스포츠 기사 장면으로 분류한다. 장면 분류는 앵커 장면의 영상 전처리와 색상 특정을 기반으로 한다. 그리고 필드의 우세색상과 모션 방향을 특징으로 이용하여 스포츠 장면을 5개의 장르로 분류한다. 241개의 스포츠 뉴스 장면에 대한 실험에서 75%의 정확도를 얻었다. 따라서 제안된 기법은 향후 개별 스포츠 뉴스와 스포츠 하이라이트를 위한 뉴스 비디오를 검색하는데 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

지역대학생의 농촌경관 개선사업 참여를 위한 발전방안 연구 - 금산읍 농촌중심지 사업을 대상으로 - (A Study on Development Plans to Engage Local University Students in Landscape Improvement Projects in Rural Areas - The case of on the Revitalization Project of Rural Center of Geumsan-eup -)

  • This study aims to identify more reasonable and efficient development plans to engage local university students in landscape improvement projects in rural areas. To survey university students, residents, administrators and experts involved in such projects on important considerations in this regard, SWOT analysis was employed to identify important factors, followed by analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to evaluate their relative importance, identify problems and suggest implications for improvement. The results are summarized as follows: the relative importance of the SWOT group was in the order of opportunity, strength, threat, and weakness. For each SWOT factor, the relative importance of strengths was in the order of students' aspiration and passion, availability of creative ideas and designs, and improved attachment to their community. The relative importance of weaknesses was in the order of the lack of spontaneous participation of residents, short preparation periods and insufficient budgets, and the lack of experience in similar projects. The relative importance of opportunities was in the order of young students' activity itself being a boost factor to the community, students' endeavors arising a consensus among residents, and students feeling a sense of duty as representatives of their school. The relative importance of threats was in the order of projects being one-shot, temporary events, immaturity, and differences in preferences between older and younger generations. To draw an overall ranking of the sub-factors evaluated, the overall relative importance of the decision-making factors was evaluated. Among the sub-factors for each SWOT group, young students' activity itself being a boost factor to the community as an opportunity factor was shown to be the most important, while the lack of experience in similar projects was shown to be the least important as administrators and experts made appropriate interventions in each stage.
