  • A cyber shopping mall is a place where consumers acquire product information, and make purchase decisions in the cyber space. Even though it offers many advantages over traditional malls, there are still several limitations to do shopping in an existing cyber mall. One of these limitations is the absence of an efficient shopping aid to compare multiple items from multiple malls. Existing search systems usually support a keyword search with limited conditions. Consumers spend lots of their time to compare multiple alternatives from search results. In this paper, we propose an intelligent product search system. There are two main features in our system. The first one is a full support of comparison shopping with multiple perspectives based on commercial search engines. The second one is an enhancement to the shopping aid based on a new concept of Shopping AssistanT. Our system is implemented in Visual Basic and PERL, and experimental results show a satisfactory performance.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the dissatisfaction level of consumers buying foreign goods through Internet shopping malls and their complaint behavior. As there is growing demand for foreign brands along with a rapid increase in the Internet user population, a lot of ongoing studies have focused on Internet-based transaction. The dissatisfaction level of selected consumers was checked in terms of system, price, quality, information/hype, shipping and refund/exchange, and it's found that complaint behavior linked to refund/exchange was most prevalent. The most dominant way for them to respond to such situations was talking friends, relatives or neighbors about that. And they had an intention to buy foreign goods through Internet shopping malls again to greater or lesser extents, though they were unsatisfied. It indicates that the consumers didn't have a wide option in the consumer market.

To achieve this, this study first conducted a survey of women from the ages of 18 to 39 and attempted to discover consumer satisfaction levels and preferences of the clothing product sizing system of Internet shopping malls. While keeping track of the global distribution environment, an optimal clothing sizing system for Korean women that fit recent changes in their body shapes was proposed. The results of this study are as follows. First, A result of studying the satisfaction levels and preferences of consumer's purchase experience and the sizing system showed that 48.6% of the total respondents were dissatisfied with the current sizing system. Second, based on the research of the size classification system of domestic and foreign upper garment for women, unlike domestic Internet shopping malls, overseas generally offer several size classifications. Third, results of studies 1 and 2 was used to propose an optimal clothing products sizing system method. Also, the body and product sizes and the measurement methods should be offered together. In summary of all these results, by establishing globally compatible sizing system, consumers are able to recognize their sizes on their own and by doing this, it will lower perceived risk of the consumers at the time of a Internet shopping mall purchase, and this will raise their level of satisfaction while making purchases.

  • In this study, I analyzed the inducing and hindering factors of online shopping malls on browsers in the process of browsing fashion products in online shopping malls. In-depth interviews were conducted by presenting browsing-related questions to women in their 20s and 50s who are interested in browsing fashion products online. Based on the answers of the interviewees, using grounded theory, we analyzed and presented six factors such as price factor, promotion factor, purchase review factor, visual information factor, product information factor, and service factor. Based on inducing and hindering factors to browsing analyzed in this study, a strategy to design a browsing environment in terms of shopping malls was suggested, which will be helpful for practical strategies and marketing in related industries. Basic data will be presented in a thesis on a new type of shopping mall browsing environment related to the rapidly developing information and communication technology. In addition, the negative emotions experienced in relation to the detrimental factors of shopping malls in the browsing process are expected to be helpful in researching fashion product browsing related to consumer psychology.
