The purpose of this study was to identify the change attributes of food courts inside department stores or shopping centers, which are becoming more sophisticated and gentrified. A survey was conducted regarding customer satisfaction level of food services, which influences customers' revisit behavioral intentions, to provide future development direction. Using an exploratory factor analysis, 55 questions on food and beverage service, atmosphere, comfort, sanitation, and food quality were produced. This study tested how these choice factors affect customers' positive or negative impressions of their dining experiences through multiple regression analysis. Results indicate that 'food service' was the most important factor contributing to customers' positive impressions along with higher revisit behavioral intentions. On the contrary, respondents who received poor 'food service' had higher negative impressions with low revisit intentions. The results and findings of this study will positively influence marketing and customer relationship management and thus help design of successful strategies for food court development.

Sentiment analysis is a method used to comprehend feelings, opinions, and attitudes in text, and it is essential for evaluating consumer feedback and social media posts. However, creating sentiment dictionaries, which are necessary for this analysis, is complex and time-consuming because people express their emotions differently depending on the context and domain. In this study, we propose a new method for simplifying this procedure. We utilize syntax analysis of the Korean language to identify and extract sentiment words based on the Reason-Sentiment Pattern, which distinguishes between words expressing feelings and words explaining why those feelings are expressed, making it applicable in various contexts and domains. We also define sentiment words as those with clear polarity, even when used independently and exclude words whose polarity varies with context and domain. This approach enables the extraction of explicit sentiment expressions, enhancing the accuracy of sentiment analysis at the attribute level. Our methodology, validated using Korean cosmetics review datasets from Korean online shopping malls, demonstrates how a sentiment dictionary focused solely on clear polarity words can provide valuable insights for product planners. Understanding the polarity and reasons behind specific attributes enables improvement of product weaknesses and emphasis on strengths. This approach not only reduces dependency on extensive sentiment dictionaries but also offers high accuracy and applicability across various domains.
With the development of information technology (IT), various information systems (IS) such as Web-based systems and mobile systems have appeared utilizing different technologies. However, recent studies on IS use and user satisfaction rarely account for technological differences among IS and environmental characteristics where IS are intended to be used. The purpose of this research is to investigate the determinants of the use of Web-based ticketing systems for cultural activities and to empirically validate their relationships. Environmental psychology suggests that human beings respond to external stimuli from environments with their emotions, and their emotional states influence human actions, e.g., IS use in this research. Applying environmental psychology to the use of Web-based systems in the culture and entertainment industry, we propose that web site characteristics first influence a user's internal state of mind (i.e., flow) and then the flow state influences the IS use. Studies related to the state of flow collectively affirm the key role played by the flow construct in shaping individual attitudes and behaviors toward IS. Users' flow states are captured by their shopping enjoyment, perceived behavioral control, and the level of concentration on the IS use. Referring to social presence theory, we have included such web site characteristics as content quality, context of web site, and community quality. In our research model, a second order construct is utilized to represent web site quality, because flow theory suggests that holistic experiences with web-based systems (rather than individual characteristics of the web site) are important in explaining the IS use. Further, we have included trust as another important factor influencing the IS use since business transactions on the web encompass higher uncertainty comparing to offline transactions. In order to test our hypotheses, we have conducted an online survey which results in 1,141 valid responses in the final sample. The data were collected from respondents who have experiences in Internet ticketing systems. Although it was a convenient sample, the sample represents a wide variety of user demographics. Validity and reliability of the research instrument were tested and research hypotheses were examined using PLS Graph 3.0. The results indicate that web site characteristics significantly influence the level of user concentration, user's enjoyment in shopping, and perceived behavioral control. Further, the use of Internet ticketing systems is influenced by users' flow states and trust in the web channel. User satisfaction is turned out to be affected by the use of Internet ticketing systems. Unlike extant research on the relationship between web site characteristics and its use, our study has found that, in the culture and entertainment industry, the impact of web site characteristics on IS use is mediated by a user's flow state. This finding has a practical implication that web site design should include as many features that enhance shopping enjoyment and concentration. Other practical implications of these findings and future research implications are also discussed.

The escape theory is the theory of problem behavior such as suicide. The purpose of this study is to investigate the causes of gaming disorder, which has been attracting attention as a typical youth problem, through escape theory. Suicide theory is a process in which the problem triggered by the negative external environment flows into internal attribution and self-criticism, and this leads to a process leading to problematic behavior with disgust self-awareness. This process was applied to the environment, psychology, and behavior of adolescents. As a result, the lack of affection and consistency of the parents resulted in negative external environment, which affected the self-esteem of children by creating a negative external environment. And low self-esteem caused negative emotions, lowered self control, and confirmed to induce game addiction. The results of this analysis show that game addiction has a structure similar to obsessive behaviors such as binge eating and shopping addiction explained through the escape theory model and it is necessary to concentrate more on the environmental psychological factors for game addiction research.
In this study, text analysis was performed on the mealkit product review data to identify factors affecting the evaluation of the mealkit product. The data used for the analysis were collected by scraping 334,498 reviews of mealkit products in Naver shopping site. After preprocessing the text data, wordclouds and sentiment analyses based on word frequency and normalized TF-IDF were performed. Logistic regression model was applied to predict the polarity of reviews on mealkit products. From the logistic regression models derived for each product category, the main factors that caused positive and negative emotions were identified. As a result, it was verified that text analysis can be a useful tool that provides a basis for maximizing positive factors for a specific category, menu, and material and removing negative risk factors when developing a mealkit product.

The cashierless store, which is rapidly spreading with the development of AI, is providing new shopping experiences to customers. However, the existing retail service research mainly focused on evaluation based on employees (people). This study was initiated to evaluate services by reorganizing these service evaluations according to the characteristics of cashierless store. In addition, the effect of the service experience characteristics of AI cashierless store on customers' positive or negative emotions was identified, and the effect on revisit intention was verified. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that the service experience characteristics of AI cashierless store had some effect on emotional response. In addition, it was confirmed that the positive emotional response caused by the characteristics of the AI cashierless store service experience induces revisiting, but the negative emotional response hinders revisiting. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the research and development of AI cashierless store services.

This study aims to confirm that consumers' satisfaction with online shopping websites has changed to a phenomenon different from the past. In other words, in a situation where the use of e-commerce is expanding worldwide after the pandemic and various types of commerce such as mobile commerce and social commerce are formed, the consumer's information processing and decision-making process are meaningful in examining the behavior that has been changed based on the perceived motivation level of consumers by the new environment according to the consumption value and personal characteristics perceived by the consumer. In other words, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of consumption value and need for cognition on the satisfaction toward online websites as a mediating role in the trust of the website. As a result of testing Hypothesis 1, not only the hedonic value of the consumer for the website but also the utilitarian value had a positive influence on the satisfaction toward the website, and in particular, the utilitarian value showed a relatively greater influence than the hedonic value. However, the negative relationship between the need for cognition and satisfaction was found to be at a significant level under one-sided verification. In Hypothesis 2, only the utilitarian value among the consumption values of 2-1 showed a positive effect on satisfaction through a mediating role of trust. It was confirmed that the utilitarian value among the consumption values was an important factor in the satisfaction toward the website. The significance of this study is that, unlike previous research results, not only consumption value based on senses and emotions but also utilitarian value has a greater influence. Therefore, utilitarian value and need for cognition have a stronger influence on satisfaction if they play a mediating role based on the trust of the website used by consumers. These findings reflect the current market trend of online consumption, and they are helpful in the management and strategy of online websites based on consumer behavior understanding and major factors.
Modern businesses are adopting new technologies to serve their markets better as well as to improve efficiency and productivity. The advertising industry has continuously experienced disruptions from the traditional channels (radio, television and print media) to new complex ones including internet, social media and mobile-based advertising. This case study focuses on proposing intelligent advertising business model in Seoul's metro network. Seoul has one of the world's busiest metro network and transports a huge number of travelers on a daily basis. The high number of travelers coupled with a well-planned metro network creates a platform where marketers can initiate engagement and interact with both customers and potential customers. In the current advertising model, advertising is on illuminated and framed posters in the stations and in-car, non-illuminated posters, and digital screens that show scheduled arrivals and departures of metros. Some stations have digital screens that show adverts but they do not have location capability. Most of the current advertising media have one key limitation: space. For posters whether illuminated or not, one space can host only one advert at a time. Empirical literatures show that there is room for improving this advertising model and eliminate the space limitation by replacing the poster adverts with digital advertising platform. This new model will not only be digital, but will also provide intelligent advertising platform that is driven by data. The digital platform will incorporate location sensing, e-commerce, and mobile platform to create new value to all stakeholders. Travel cards used in the metro will be registered and the card scanners will have a capability to capture traveler's data when travelers tap their cards. This data once analyzed will make it possible to identify different customer groups. Advertisers and marketers will then be able to target specific customer groups, customize adverts based on the targeted consumer group, and offer a wide variety of advertising formats. Format includes video, cinemagraphs, moving pictures, and animation. Different advert formats create different emotions in the customer's mind and the goal should be to use format or combination of formats that arouse the expected emotion and lead to an engagement. Combination of different formats will be more effective and this can only work in a digital platform. Adverts will be location based, ensuring that adverts will show more frequently when the metro is near the premises of an advertiser. The advertising platform will automatically detect the next station and screens inside the metro will prioritize adverts in the station where the metro will be stopping. In the mobile platform, customers who opt to receive notifications will receive them when they approach the business premises of advertiser. The mobile platform will have indoor navigation for the underground shopping malls that will allow customers to search for facilities within the mall, products they may want to buy as well as deals going on in the underground mall. To create an end-to-end solution, the mobile solution will have a capability to allow customers purchase products through their phones, get coupons for deals, and review products and shops where they have bought a product. The indoor navigation will host intelligent mobile-based advertisement and a recommendation system. The indoor navigation will have adverts such that when a customer is searching for information, the recommendation system shows adverts that are near the place traveler is searching or in the direction that the traveler is moving. These adverts will be linked to the e-commerce platform such that if a customer clicks on an advert, it leads them to the product description page. The whole system will have multi-language as well as text-to-speech capability such that both locals and tourists have no language barrier. The implications of implementing this model are varied including support for small and medium businesses operating in the underground malls, improved customer experience, new job opportunities, additional revenue to business model operator, and flexibility in advertising. The new value created will benefit all the stakeholders.
