The Influence of Channel Integration Quality on Omni-Channel Shopping Intention and Shopper Satisfaction in the E-commerce Industry in Indonesia

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of utilitarian value, hedonic value, channel integration quality on Omni-Channel Shopping Intention and shopper satisfaction in the e-commerce industry in Indonesia. Research design, data and methodology: This research method uses quantitative research methods with purposive sampling technique. The hypothesis was tested using SEM-PLS. Results: Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that there is an influence between the Utilitarian value on the Omni-channel shopping intention, there is no effect between the hedonic value on the Omni-channel shopping intention, there is no influence between the quality of Channel integration on the Omni-channel shopping intention, there is an influence between the quality of Channel integration and the Omni-channel shopping intention between utilitarian values on shopper satisfaction, there is no effect between hedonic values on shopper satisfaction, there is an influence between channel integration quality on shopper satisfaction, and there is an influence between Omni-channel shopping intentions on shopper satisfaction. Conclusions: The findings of this study prove that Omni-Channel Shopping Intention is one of the most effective management and marketing techniques to enhance an important aspect of their company, namely an efficient and holistic consumer shopping experience.

A Study on the Relationship between VMD Structural Elements of Apparel Stores and Related Variables (의류 점포의 VMD 구성 요소와 관련 변인 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify VMD structural elements of apparel stores, and related variables. The related variables are contained shopping orientation, store types, consumer satisfaction and the intention to purchase in apparel stores. The data was collected from a questionnaire conducted on 378 female adults and was analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANDVA, regression, Duncan test, and reliability analysis. The results were as follows: (1) VMD structural elements of apparel store consisted of four factors: coordination/fitness, fashionability, attractiveness, and functionality. Shopping orientation consisted of six factors: recreational, rational, fashion oriented, convenience oriented, price conscious, and brand conscious. Shopper types consisted of four groups: recreational type shopper, economic type shopper, high involved shopper, and convenience oriented shopper. (2) Significant differences were find out between those shopper types and VMD structural elements. Significant differences were find out between store types and VMD structural elements. (3) VMD structural elements(coordination/fitness, functionality, fashionability) were influenced consumer satisfaction and the intention to purchase.

Consumer Clothing Shopping Orientations and Purchase Criteria -With a Suit and Blouse- (소비자의 의복 구매성향과 구매기준에 관한 연구 -슈트와 블라우스를 중심으로-)

  • The objectives of this study were to classify the contents of clothing shopping orientation, to group women into shopper types, and to examine the differences in clothing purchase criteria according to the shopper types. Samples were 335 women(20-49 years of age) in Seoul, Korea. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, X2 test, paired t-test, multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were the followings. 1. Five factors of clothing shopping orientation derived by factor analysis : F.1 'impulsive shopping' ; F.2 'rational shopping' ; F.3 'independent shopping' ; F.4 'economic shopping' ; F.5 'convenient shopping'. Three shopper types were classified by cluster analysis of the 5 factors : T.1 'convenient shopper' ; T.2 'impulsive shopper' ; T.3 'rational shopper'. 2. Significant differences were found among the 3 shopper types in all clothing purchase criteria. Rational shopper perceived all purchase criteria as more important than did the other 2 types. Impulsive shopper perceived 'fashion', 'attractiveness', 'style', and 'bland' as more important than did convenient shopper. 3. Married women and unemployed women were more distributed in rational shopper, while the unmarried and the employed more in impulsive shopper. Impulsive shopper used more credit care, purchased suits and blouses at department store and brand specialty store more than did rational shopper. Rational shopper purchased at discount store and wholesale store more than did impulsive shopper. 4. Women assessed 'color and fabric design' as most important in suit and blouse purchase criteria. 'Care' was perceived more important in blouses than in suits, and the other 9 purchase criteria(fashion, attractiveness, style, color and fabric design, fabric, durability, costruction, comfort, and brand) were perceived more important in suits than in blouses. 5. Rational and economic shopping orientation scores were higher in suit purchase than in blouse, while impulsive, independent, and convenient shopping orientation scores were higher in blouse purchase. 6. Post-purchase suit satisfaction was influenced by rational shopping orientation, educational level, style, income, and comfort. The explanatory power of the 5 variables was 17.2%. Post-purchase blouse satisfaction was influenced by style, care, rational shopping orientation, and independent shopping orientation. The explanatory power of the 4 variables was 10.2%.

  • O2O services, a form of mobile commerce, are increasing due to the widespread use of smartphones and the rational consumption trend of young consumers. In addition, the introduction of Social Commerce's O2O service has transformed customer experience into innovation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of O2O service characteristics and social commerce provider characteristics on the social commerce 's O2O service as a social psychological image that consumers have at the point of purchase and use time, as a smart shopper feeling and a cheapness shopper feeling. And the relationship between consumer satisfaction and intention to use through Structure Equation Modeling, and to suggest the implications for O2O service management that can provide greater satisfaction to consumers by identifying the process of creating satisfaction of O2O service. The results of the study show that price discounts and scarcity of social commerce's O2O service characteristics have shown that it increases smart shopper feeling. Also, it was confirmed that brand awareness and ease of purchase, which are characteristics of social commerce, confirms the increase of cheapness shopper feeling. We also confirmed the effect of smart shopper feeling and cheapness shopper feeling on satisfaction. This satisfaction has a positive effect on the intention to use. The result of this study is that it is necessary to reduce the cheapness shopper feeling of consumers and to emphasize the price discount and scarcity so that the smart shopper feeling occurs in order to satisfy the consumers who purchase O2O service products.

A Study on Shopping Orientation and Post-Purchase of Cosmetics (화장품 구매성향과 구매 후 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to classify the contents of shopping orientation of cosmetics, to group women into shopper types of cosmetics, to investigate the differences in cosmetics purchase behavior according to shopper types, and to examine how the cosmetics satisfaction was influenced by cosmetics shopping orientation and demographic variables. Subjects were 479 women in their 20's to 50's in Seoul, Korea. The factors of the shopping orientation of cosmetics derived by factor analysis:'impulsive shopping','conspicuous shopping','rational shopping', and 'independent shopping. Four shopper types were classified by cluster analysis of the 4 factors. The shopper types were the same as the 4 factors. total satisfaction of cosmetics was influenced by independent shopping orientation, age, brand, impulsive shopping orientation, conspicuous shopping orientation, and rational shopping orientation(R2=.217). Satisfaction of basic cosmetics was influenced by conspicuous shopping orientation. independent shopping orientation. age. rational shopping orientation, impulsive shopping orientation, and social class(R2=.407). Satisfaction of coloring cosmetics was influenced by brand, independent shopping orientation, age, and impulsive shopping orientation(R²=.167).

The Effects of Apparel Store Services on Impulsive Buying Behaviors (의류점포서비스가 의복충동구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of shopping orientation, and service quality and satisfaction on impulsive buying behavior in two types of apparel store. The sample consisted of 616 females aged 20-30 who were shopping at department stores and shopping malls in Busan. Data were analyzed with factor analysis, t-test, cross analysis and path analysis. The results showed that consumers of department stores showed more strongly convenient orientation than those of the shopping mall, consumers of the shopping mall showed more strongly recreational orientation and practical orientation than those of the department. Stores services of the department were perceived better than that of the shopping mall in promotional services, salespersons' services and environmental services. But it didn't show any differences between store types in product services. Consumers 'satisfaction with the service was greater in department stores than the shopping mall. But it didn't show any difference between apparel store types in the impulsive buying behaviors. Impulsive buying behavior of department store shoppers is directly affected by a shopper' shopping orientation as well as store service quality perceived by shoppers rather than a shopper' satisfaction. The service quality does not have directly related to consumers’ service satisfaction. The causal relationships of impulsive buying behaviors showed similarity in shopping malls and department stores. The perceived quality and satisfaction with store service were higher at department store than shopping malls. In impulse buying behavior of a department store was directly affected by a shopper' shopping orientation as well as store service quality perceived by shoppers rather than a shopper’ store service satisfaction.

Competitive Structure between Department Store and Discount Store based on Consumers' Purchase Intention (소비자 구매의도에 근거한 백화점과 대형 할인점의 경쟁 구조)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate competitive structure between the department store and the discount store based on consumers' purchase intention. Female consumers who purchased clothing both in the department store and the discount store participated in the study by completing questionnaires (N=533) . Data were analyzed using factor analyses, paired t-test, Cronbach's $\alpha$, and chi-square analyses. The result was as following: 1 . Overall, the department store and the discount store are competing complementarily. However, this competitive structure varied with clothing items and consumers' age. 2. As a result of factor analyses, the two retailer's service quality could be evaluated with four dimensions: price and A/S, store atmosphere and VMD, store policy, and salesperson. 3. The department store was expected to provide the highest level of service in ‘price and A/S’, ‘store atmosphere and VMD’, ‘salesperson’ whereas the discount store in ‘store policy’ 4. Respondents were classified in four groups according to how frequently they use department store and discount store as following: shopper of both retailers (68.35%), discount store shopper(20.97%), department store shopper(4.70%), shopper of neither retailer(3.97%). Each group showed differences in service satisfaction and demographic characteristics.

A Study for the Consumption Competencies According to the Shopping Value Types of College Students (대학생의 쇼핑가치유형 및 소비능력에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was (1) to investigate the changes in consumer competencies according to the types of shopping value, (2) to reveal the effects of shopping value on consumer competencies. The subjects of this study were 266 university students dwelling in Seoul. A questionnaire was used as the survey method. The data was analyzed by Cronbach's alpha, frequencies, percentile, mean, factor analysis, K-mean cluster analysis, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range tests, multiple linear regressions. Computations were conducted by SPSS WIN 12.0. The study produced the following results. First, college students can be categorized into 3 shopping values by K-means Cluster analysis of 13 items: the hedonic shopper (shopping value), the utilitarian shopper (shopping value) and the balanced shopper (shopping value). Second, there were significant differences in grades, satisfaction with life and shopping value. That is, grade 3and utilitarian shopping value group had a higher level of consumer competency. Third, the variable that influenced consumer competency was the utilitarian shopping value, influencing consumer attitude and consumer skill. These results imply that consumers should be constantly educated and that there needs to be a campaign to promote utilitarian shopping value.

Foreign customers' recognition on DongDaeMun fashion market and products - Focused on the Doota-Mall zone - (동대문 패션시장의 이미지와 패션제품에 대한 외국인 소비자의 인식 - 두타몰 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the fundamental data through researching on the actual condition of foreign consumers, the image of DongDaeMun fashion market, the customer satisfaction measurement of DongDaeMun fashion market, and the degree of satisfaction of DongDaeMun market's products. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The analysis on gender who visits DongDaeMun fashion market reveals that female(77.6%) was more than male, and the each age group has a priority in orders of 30s, 20s and 40s. The Japanese shoppers has more willing to visit again and a number of visitors has visited more than twice and many of them came by for the purpose of shopping. Japanese shoppers get the information of DongDaeMun fashion market from families or advertisements by media, while Chinese customers get the information through travel agencies. 2. The image of DongDaeMun fashion market by foreigners is generally positive. They were satisfied with the facilities of DongDaeMun fashion market, the convenience of transportation, business hour and ambience of store, and fashion of clothes. Foreign customers who visited Korea on purpose to do shopping and frequent visitors to Korea have a similar image of DongDaeMun fashion market with that of domestic visitors. 3. The degree of satisfaction to the DongDaeMun fashion market for clothing was usually high. There were only few differences between Chinese shoppers and Japanese shoppers. The higher the satisfaction to the DongDaeMun fashion market was the more they had bought and high intention of visiting. And the more experiences of visiting to the DongDaeMun fashion market showed the higher degree of satisfaction.

Effect of Shopping Value, Customer Satisfaction, Switching Barrier on Consumer Royalty of The Website (웹의 쇼핑가치, 고객만족, 전환장벽이 웹사이트충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the impacts of shopping value, customer satisfaction, and switching barrier on consumer loyalty to website. For this purpose, the study tested covariance structural model which set relationships among independent variable(shopping value), meditated variables(customer satisfaction and switching barrier), and dependent variable(website loyalty). The data were collected from a sample of 239 internet shopper of college female students. The covariance structural model and research hypothesis analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 and AMOS 5.0 program. The results are as follows: First, the structural model is accepted significantly. Second, shopping value had a positive influence on customer satisfaction and switching barrier. Third, shopping value, shopping satisfaction of customer, and switching barrier had a positive impact on website loyalty. Forth, shopping value had a positive impact on website loyalty directly, it was found to have a indirect effect on website loyalty through customer satisfaction and switching barrier.
