Purpose - Conventional supply chains (SCs) must identify facilitating roles, such as port or terminal operators, shipping companies, and freight forwarders in executing the various logistical activities that support the organizational strategies of shippers. Meanwhile, supply chain collaborative practices can engender a willingness to share relevant and mutually helpful information. To this end, this study seeks to identify the impact of supply chain integration (SCI) on information sharing (IS) and the operational performance (OP) of Korea's container-shipping industry from the perspective of social capital. Design/methodology - We established the research model for this study based on previous studies. In administering the survey, we obtained 149 valid responses from employees working in liner-shipping companies and freight forwarders in Korea. With the collected questionnaires, the study's hypotheses were tested using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 26.0 Findings - The results indicate the existence of a mediated relationship where the impact of SCI on OP is mediated by IS. The effect of external integration (EI) on OP is fully mediated by information quality (IQ) and information-sharing content (ISC). Furthermore, EI, IQ and ISC partially mediate the relationship between internal integration (II) and OP. Originality/value - This study expands SCI contexts, where ISC and IQ respectively serve as bridges between EI and OP which has crucial implications for container-shipping companies in terms of improving their performance.

This paper aims to understand and analyze the mega-trends such as trends towards larger vessels due to an increasing trade volume, accordingly fewer port calls, strategic alliances and M&A Increasing degree of concentration through M&A activities in shipping industry results in a decreasing number of shipping finns with an increasing share in the world shipping capacity. But competition is strongly increasing on main trunk routes. Therefore, shipping concentration directly leads to further concentration of port traffic in fewer and larger ports with an increasing competition among neighboring ports.

The information technology(IT) development of telecommunication, along with the informationalization over the world, enables the firms to process their inner and outer operations through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system. And the concept of logistics has become more important to the enterprises in strategic sense because it had aggrandized itself to more comprehensive and integrative concept. Also the world shipping market is more competitive than any other market. In these environment, to maintain competitve power, shipping firms process operations by Logistics Information system(LIS), And then, reduce the working processes, working time and its costs. So the LIS has become more important in developing our national logistics system and industry. Therefore, this study purposes on empirically analyzing the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances in the shipping industry. Considering environments of Shipping logistics information system, this study sets up the research model and hypothesis to examine the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances. We used the field data on the 163 numbers of firms(29 overseas shipping companies and 133 forwarding Agency) to get the empirical evidence. According to the study results, The shipping LIS activation factors which the sample firms recognized as important: were top manager's support, well structured communication channel, strategic plan's connection and inner informationalization level. And IS organization ＆ human resources, IS discipline ＆ training, software development, IS organizational alignment, database management system, information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support represent partially significant. Also, the current shipping LIS's main problems are expensive system cost, standardization of working process's, institution's imperfection and system's interaction defect. So these problems must be improved to activate shipping LIS.

해운업계에서 지금까지 사용하고 있는 전자문서교환(EDI) 방식은 기업으로 하여금 비용에 대한 부담이 늘어나게 하고, 처리시간이 증가하는 문제를 야기하였다. 최근 해운업계에서는 이러한 문서교환 메카니즘이 가지고 있는 문제를 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 블록체인 기술도입을 적극적으로 고려하고 있다. 대부분의 기업들이 여러 형태의 블록체인 도입 프로젝트를 진행 중에 있으며, 향후에는 실질적 활용범위를 확대 적용함으로써 블록체인 기술의 적용에 따른 효과인 투명성, 신뢰성, 안정성, 효율성을 통해 경쟁력 증대를 도모하고 있다, 따라서 본 연구에서는 해운업계에서의 블록체인 적용 동향 및 사례를 ${\cdots}$(중략)${\cdots}$.

4차 산업혁명에 따른 변화는 COVID-19 Pandemic으로 더욱 가속화되고 있다. 이에 사회와 산업의 다양한 분야에서 급격한 변화가 예상된다. 해운물류 산업 역시 환경 및 기술 변화에 따라 스마트화가 시급한 상황이다. 하지만 우리나라의 경우 선진국과 비교하여 해운물류기술의 스마트화가 미진한 상황이다. 많은 관련 주체들과 복잡한 업무처리를 스마트화하기 위해서는 최신 기술들을 활용하여 원활한 의사소통과 가시적인 확인이 중요하다. 스마트 해운물류에서 이러한 가시화와 커뮤니케이션이 더 중요하게 부각된다. 본 연구에서는 자율운항선박과 스마트 항만 간의 통합 커뮤니케이션을 위한 도구를 제시하고자 한다. 특히, 다양한 주체가 참여하여 복잡한 업무처리를 하게 되는 자율운항선박의 접안 및 상·하역 작업의 요구 사항들을 충족시키는 디지털 트윈 기반의 커뮤니케이션 도구 개발에 대해 연구를 하였다.

With the advent of the Internet era, most industries are actively taking part in the web-based electronic commerce markets. To come up with the trend, Korean shipping companies have built their own websites and tried to take advantage of the state-of-the-art technology. This paper aims to analyze recent developments in e-commerce of shipping industry and, Also the study suggests several solutions to invigorate the virtual transactions. To analyze recent developments, this paper carries out a cases study on the websites of 5 major shipping companies in Korea. Each sites are evaluated with respect to 4C's(Contents, Commerce, Community, Connection) analysis.

Globalization of production, changing technology in ocean shipping sector, shifting bargaining power from port service provider to port users, changing distribution patterns of the containerization and new implementation for the environment and safety concerns introduced new ways of administration in port sector. In these days, port industries cannot survive alone. Port operation and management has to be proactive to cooperate and integrate with other port operators or other industries. In the 21st century, cooperation in maritime sector is more common than that in the past with several different reasons in a mixture of forms of cooperation. Cooperation among port authorities, port operators, shipping line, inland transport service providers and/or related organizations themselves becomes to exist to overcome the challenges and development of the global transport chain. This paper investigates the concept of port cooperation and the case analysis of the cooperation in the port industry.

한국 경제에 근간이 되는 산업은 제조업이고, 그중 석유화학산업은 전량 원유를 수입하여 우리나라의 기술력으로 가공하여 재수출하는 전략적 성장 산업이다. 수많은 제조업의 원료가 되는 원유를 전량 해상운송을 통해 수입하는 우리나라는 변동성이 심한 유조선 운임 시장에 대해 기민하게 대응해야 한다. 유조선 운임 시장의 위기는 관련 해운회사의 위기에서 끝나지 않고 원유를 사용하는 산업에서부터 국민의 생활까지 영향을 미칠 수 있으므로, 본 연구에서 신호접근법을 활용한 조기경보모형을 제시했다. BDTI 운임지수를 활용하여 유조선 해운시장 위기를 정의하고, 38개의 거시경제, 금융, 원자재 지표 그리고 해운시장 데이터를 활용해 시차상관관계를 분석하여 유조선 해운시장 위기에 선행적으로 반응하는 종합선행지수를 도출했다. 연구 결과, 종합선행지수는 두 달 전 가장 높은 0.499의 시차상관계수 값을 가졌으며, 5개월 전부터 유의미한 상관계수 값을 나타냈다. QPS 값은 0.13으로 위기 예측에 대해 높은 정확성을 지니는 것으로 검증됐다. 더불어 기존의 다른 시계열 예측모형 연구들과 달리 본 연구는 경제 위기와 유조선 해운시장의 위기 간의 시차를 계량적으로 접근하여, 관련 해운산업 종사자들과 정책 입안자들에게 위기에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 전략의 기틀을 제공함에 의의가 있다.

Ship technology has advanced in many diverse directions in recent years, a trend that can be expected to continue. The effect of this both on the physical equipment now being usedand under construction and on the attitude of mind of many of those responsible for its operation is profound. The technological changes in shipping have brought about an increasing trend towrard more delegation of authority from shoreside to ship management. With increased shipboard responsibility the shipping industry would benefit from seeming that more of the management subjects were learned by nautical students. It is clear advantage that companies should draw into their general management structure men with seafaring experience. At the same time the the boards of shipping companies should include more men with high technological qualificatiions and experience.
