Species like insects and fishes have, in many cases, non-overlapping time intervals of one generation and their descendant one. So the population dynamics of such species can be formulated as discrete models. In this paper various discrete population models are introduced in chronological order. The author's investigation starts with the Malthusian model suggested in 1798, and continues through Verhulst model(the discrete logistic model), Ricker model, the Beverton-Holt stock-recruitment model, Shep-herd model, Hassell model and Sigmoid type Beverton-Holt model. We discuss the mathematical and practical significance of each model and analyze its properties. Also the stability properties of stationary solutions of the models are studied analytically and illustratively using GSP, a computer software. The visual outputs generated by GSP are compared with the analytical stability results.

Using the CFD method, the pressure drop in 6 cyclone dust collectors of different shape were calculated. And the results were compared with results of the conventional theories. Equations of Shepherd and Lapple (1939, 1940), First (1950), Alexander (1949), Stairmand (1949), Barth (1956) were used in the theoretical calculation. In CFD calculations, we used standard k-epsilon model for analysis of turbulent flow, fluid is $25^{\circ}C$ air, the velocity at inlet is 10 m/s and the temperature is $25^{\circ}C$. In CFD analysis results, the pressure distributions along the flow showed similar patterns in different cyclone shapes. But the pressure drop distributions estimated on the conventional theories had big difference in different cyclone shapes. Only First's theory and CFD analysis showed similar results.

Recently, as social distancing have been raised due to the re-spread of COVID-19, the number of serial entrepreneurs who are closing their business is rapidly increasing. Learning from failure is a source of success, but business failure can result in psychological and economic losses and negative emotions of the serial entrepreneur. At this point, it is very important to find a way to recover the negative emotions caused by business failures of serial entrepreneurs. Recently, a strategic model has emerged to deal with the negative emotions of grief caused by business failures of serial entrepreneurs. This study identified the recovery factors from the grief of business failures of serial entrepreneurs and analyzed Shepherd's(2003) three areas: loss orientation, restoration orientation, and dual process. To this end, individual in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 small business serial entrepreneurs who challenged re-startup to identify the attributes of recovery factors that were not identified with quantitative data. As a result of the study, first, recovery factors were investigated in three areas: individual orientation, family orientation, and network orientation. It was found to help improve recovery in nine categories: self-esteem, persistence, personal competence, hobbies, self-confidence, family support, networks, religion, and social support. Second, recovery obstacle factors were investigated in three areas: psychological, economic, and environmental factors. Nine categories including family, health, social network, business partner, competitor, partner, fund, external environment, and government policy were found to persist negative emotions. Third, the emotional processing process for grief was investigated in three areas: loss orientation, restoration orientation, and dual process. Ten categories such as family, partner support, social member support, government support, hobbies, networks, change of business field, moving, third-party perspective, and meditation were confirmed to enhance rapid recovery in the emotional processing process for grief. The implications of this study are as follows. The process of recovering from the grief caused by business failures of serial entrepreneurs was attempted by a qualitative study. By extending the theory of Shepherd(2003), This study can be applied to help with recovery research. In addition, conceptual models and propositions for future empirical research were presented, which can be discussed in carious academic ways.

The zone-conditioned CMC equations are derived by taking an unconditional average of the generic conservation equations multiplied by delta and Heaviside functions in terms of mixture fraction and reaction progress variable. The resulting equations are essentially in the same form as the single zone CMC equations except for separate flow fields for burned and unburned gas. The zone-conditioned two-fluid equations are applied to a stagnating turbulent premixed flame brush of Cheng and Shepherd[5l. It is shown that the flame stretch factor is of crucial importance to accurately reproduce the measured mean reaction progress variable and conditional velocities. Further work is in progress for the relationship between surface and volume averages and extension to partially premixed combustion on the basis of a triple flame structure, e. g. in a lifted turbulent diffusion flame.

This study attempts to redefine the concept of 'fairness' of Korean public broadcasting and tries to build a new model for evaluating the fairness of Korean public broadcasting. The author insists that the fairness in public broadcasting consists of binary components of the public and rightful reporting, and views that the public reporting represents of neutralness, balance and impartiality while the rightful reporting represents of factuality, multiplicity and the protection of social minorities. The author suggests that two criteria of the public and rightful reporting results in four models of 'shepherd', 'acrobat', 'tribune', and 'trumpeter' in accord with its focus on the public and the rightful reporting. Survey toward the professionals in public broadcasting in academia was conducted and addressed the fact that Korean public broadcasting is close to the trumpeter model with some feature of acrobat.

The aim of this study is to optimize the monolayer cultivation of human articular chondrocytes in serum-free media. For this purpose, chondrocytes were isolated from human articular cartilage and monolayer cultures were performed in DMEM/F12 medium with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) or serum-free media (SFM) containing various supplements and epidermal growth factor (EGF). Western blotting analysis, RT-PCR, dimethylmethylene blue (DMB) assay were carried out to evaluate the synthesis of collagen type II (Col. II) and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). We observed that SFM with EGF stimulated the cell growth while the amounts of synthesized GAGs and Col. II were decreased gradually. However, the Col. II mRNA level was increased when the SFM was replaced by media containing 10% FBS. This study suggests that it is possible to obtain large amount of human articular chondrocytes by short-term monolayer cultures in SFM.
