토목섬유로 보강된 다짐토 공시체의 구속효과에 관한 수치계산 (Numerical Analysis of Confining Effect Due to Geosynthetics Wrapping Compacted Soil Specimen)

  • 본 연구에서는 토목섬유로 보강된 다짐토의 메카니즘이 제시되며, 이러한 메카니즘은 다짐토의 체적팽창(다일러턴시)을 토목섬유에 의해 구속 억제하는 과정에서 생성되는 효과로 간주된다. 먼저, 실내실험을 위한 구체적인 방법으로서, 토목섬유의 보강효과를 정량적으로 파악하기 위하여 사질토를 다짐하여 공시체를 만들어 그 주위에 토목섬유를 설치한 후 전체적으로 압축전단시험을 실시하였다. 실험에서 초기 다짐도는 각각의 종류에 대하여 다일러턴시의 특성이 다르기 때문에 각각의 공시체에 대하여 변화시켰다. 여기서 전단시험 도중에 다짐토의 다일러턴시 변형을 방지하기 위한 토목섬유에 작용하는 축방향 힘들(axial farces)이 조사되었다. 또한 다짐토의 탄소성 모델과 이러한 모델에 필요한 초기 입력치 값의 결정 방법들이 제시된다. 마지막으로, 탄소성 구성 모델에서 항복 이전의 탄성영역의 거동을 모사하기 위하여 Hashiguch(1989)가 제안한 subloading surface의 개념을 도입하여, 유한요소(FEM)해석을 통해 얻어진 결과들을 실내시험의 결과와 비교 분석하였다.

Experimental axial force identification based on modified Timoshenko beam theory

  • An improved method is presented to estimate the axial force of a bar member with vibrational measurements based on modified Timoshenko beam theory. Bending stiffness effects, rotational inertia, shear deformation, rotational inertia caused by shear deformation are all taken into account. Axial forces are estimated with certain natural frequency and corresponding mode shape, which are acquired from dynamic tests with five accelerometers. In the paper, modified Timoshenko beam theory is first presented with the inclusion of axial force and rotational inertia effects. Consistent mass and stiffness matrices for the modified Timoshenko beam theory are derived and then used in finite element simulations to investigate force identification accuracy under different boundary conditions and the influence of critical axial force ratio. The deformation coefficient which accounts for rotational inertia effects of the shearing deformation is discussed, and the relationship between the changing wave speed and the frequency is comprehensively examined to improve accuracy of the deformation coefficient. Finally, dynamic tests are conducted in our laboratory to identify progressive axial forces of a steel plate and a truss structure respectively. And the axial forces identified by the proposed method are in good agreement with the forces measured by FBG sensors and strain gauges. A significant advantage of this axial force identification method is that no assumption on boundary conditions is needed and excellent force identification accuracy can be achieved.

용해재료가 포함된 지반의 전단강도 특성 (Shear Strength Characteristics of Geo - Soluble - Materials)

  • 흙입자의 구조는 흙을 구성하는 용해성 입자의 용해작용, 건조작용 그리고 고결화 현상과 같은 특정요인에 의해 영향을 받으며 입자구조의 변화는 흙의 역학적 거동에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 흙속에 포함된 용해성입자의 용해작용이 전단강도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 직접전단실험을 위해 소금과 모래로 구성된 혼합재를 이용하여 시료를 조성하고 전체시료에 대한 용해성 입자의 부피비를 조절하면서 실험을 수행하였으며 실험과 동일한 조건하에 서 수치해석을 수행하였다. 입자의 소실과정을 위해 실험에서는 소금-모래 혼합재를 포화시켜 소금을 용해시켰으며 수치해석에서는 용해성 입자의 크기를 줄이는 것으로 용해과정을 모사하였다. 실험결과, 용해성 입자의 부피비가 증가할수록 내부마찰각은 감소하였고, 시료의 수직변형은 팽창거동에서 수축거동으로 변화하였다. 수치해석은 실험 결과와 유사한 거시적 거동을 보여주었다. 미시적관점에서, 입자가 용해됨에 따라 간극비의 증가, 접촉점 수의 감소, 전단접촉력의 증가, 접촉력 연결고리의 이방성에 의해 새로운 입자구조가 생성됨을 보여주었다. 이러한 미시적 거동의 변화는 입자의 용해작용 후 전단거동에 영향을 주게 된다. 본 연구에서는 기초나 지반구조물의 설계와 시공 시 지반재료의 용해에 따른 전단강도을 고려해야 함을 보여준다.

Vibration analysis of prestressed concrete bridge subjected to moving vehicles

  • The vibration response of the bridges under the moving vehicular load is of importance for engineers to estimate the serviceability of existing bridges and to design new bridges. This paper deals with the three dimensional vibration analysis of prestressed concrete bridges under moving vehicles. The prestressed bridges are modeled by four-node isoparametric flat shell elements with the transverse shearing deformation taken into account. The usual five degrees-of-freedom (DOFs) per node of the element are appended with a drilling DOF to accommodate the transformation of the local stiffness and mass matrices to the global coordinates. The vehicle is modeled as a single or two-DOF system. A single-span prestressed Tee beam and two-span prestressed box-girder bridge are studied as the two numerical examples. The effects of prestress forces on the natural frequencies and dynamic responses of the bridges are investigated.

  • The neuropsychiatric sequelae of traumatic brain unjury(TBI) are effects on complex aspect of behavior, cognition and emotional expression. They include psychiatric disorders such as depression, psychosis, personality change, dementia, and postconcussion syndrome. The damage is done not only to the cortex of the brain but also to subcortical and axial structures. The diffuse degeneration of cerebral white mailer is axonal damage that is caused by mechanical forces shearing the neuronal fiber at the moment of impact(diffuse axonal injury, DAI). The DAI and the changed receptor-agonist mechanism ore the most important mechanisms in genesis of neuropsychiatric sequalae by mild TBI. The most important instrument for diagnosis of neuropsychiatric sequalae of TBI is a physician or psychiatrist with experience and knowledge. The most effective therapeutic tool is a professional who understands the nature of the problem.

전단 스피닝에 의한 원추형상의 성형에 관한 변형 메커니즘 (New Deformation Mechanism in the Forming of Cones by Shear Spinning)

  • The shear spinning process, where the plastic deformation zone is localized in a very small portion of the workpiece, shows a promise for increasingly broader application to the production of axially symmetric parts. In this paper, the three components of the working force are calculated by a newly proposed deformation model in which the spinning process is understood as shearing deformation after uniaxial yielding by bending, and shear stress, $\tau_{rz}$, becomes k, yield limit in pure shear, in the deformation zone. The tangential force are first calculated and the feed force and the normal force are obtained by the assumption of uniform distribution of roller pressure on the contact surface. The optimum contact area is obtained by minimizing the bending energy required to get the assumed deformation of the blank. The calculated forces are compared with experimental results. A comparison shows that theoretical prediction is reasonably in good agreement with experimental results

  • The paper describes the vibration and the stability of nonuniform tapered beams resting on two-layered elastic foundations. The two-layered elastic foundations are constructed by discributed Winkler springs and shearing layers as ofen used in oil models. Governing equations are derived from energy experssions using Hamilton's Principle. The associated eigenvalue problems are solved to obtain the free vibration frequencies or the buckling loads. Numerical results for the vibration and the stability of beams under an axial force are presented and compared with other available solutions. Finally, vibration frequencies and critical forces are investigated for various thickness ratios, shear foundation parameters, Winkler foundation parameters, and boundary conditions of tapered beams.

궤도차량의 야지기동성 평가와 토지특성의 영향 (Off-road tractive performance of tracked vehicles and the effects of soil parameters)

  • The off-road tractive performance of tracked vehicles can be evaluated in terms of soil thrust, motion resistance and drawbar pull. The ability to predict accurately ground pressure distribution under track is of importance since the vehicle sinkage and motion resistance are closely related to it. While the formulation of the method for predicting ground pressure distribution follows closely in spirit the ideas outlined for the terrain with linear pressure- sinkage relation case by Garber and Wong, the analysis of various terrain stiffness is magnified by numerical implementation procedure. The effects of soil parameters on tractive forces can be introduced through the terrain-track interaction such as pressure-sinkage and shearing characteristics. It is illustrated by determining the drawber pull-slip relation and corresponding ground pressure distribution for the terrains typically chosen and by comparing the results with the conventional ones based on normal ground pressure. The factorial experiment method is finally adopted for checking the sensitivity of the values of soil parameters on the drawbar pull.

  • Bilateral traumatic hemorrhage of the basal ganglia is an extremely rare neuropathologic entity. This report describes a 50year-old man with bilateral basal ganglia hemorrhage with occipital fracture of the skull after head trauma. The mechanism of development of traumatic hemorrhage of the basal ganglia has been not clear. But, it is presumed to be secondary to rupture of the lenticulostriate or anterior choroidal artery by shearing as a result of acceleration/deceleration forces. We briefly summarize our uncommon case and discuss its possible mechanisms.

  • for the kぉ mechanics analysis of a crack in a weld of dissimilar steels, residual stress analysis and fracture analysis must be performed simultaneously. The standard definition of the J-integral leads to a path dependent value in the presence of a residual stress field. And unlike cracks in homogeneous materials, a bimaterial interface crack always induces both opening and shearing modes of stress in the vicinity of the crack tip. Therefore, it is necessary to develope a path independent J-integral definition for a crack in a residual stress field generated by welding of dissimilar steels. This paper addresses the modification of the Rice-J-integral to produce a path independent J-integral when residual stresses due to welding of dissimilar steels and external forces are present. The residual stress problem is heated as an initial stain problem and the J-integral proposed for this class of problems is used And a program which can evaluate the 1-integral for a crack in a weld of dissimialr steels is developed using proposed J-integral definition.
