계장화 압입시험의 하중-변위 곡선에 미치는 선단 형상 및 푸아송비의 영향 (Influence of Indenter Tip Geometry and Poisson's Ratio on Load-Displacement Curve in Instrumented Indentation Test)

  • 마이크로/나노 압입시험에 사용되는 각뿔 혹은 원뿔형 압입자의 선단 형상은 제작한계 및 사용 중 마모 등으로 인해 필수적으로 곡면 형태를 띄게 된다. 많은 압입시험 관련 연구에서 각뿔형 압입자의 선단 형상은 편의상 구형으로 가정한 후, 얕은 압입에 대한 구형압입 이론식을 적용하고 있다. 이러한 가정에는 근본적으로 두 가지 문제점이 있는데, 첫 번째로 이론해의 정확성은 재료 물성치 및 압입자 형상에 따라 변화한다는 점이며, 두 번째로 각뿔형 압입자의 실제 선단 형상은 이상적인 구형이 아니라는 점이다. 본 연구에서는 유한요소해석에 기반하여 압입시험에 미치는 이 두 요소의 영향을 분석한다. 먼저 탄성 구형 압입시험에 대해 푸아송비와 하중-변위 곡선의 상관관계를 살펴보고, 이를 기반으로 수정된 구형 탄성 압입 관계식을 제시한다. 이어 가정된 Berkovich 선단 형상의 3차원 유한요소해석으로부터 압입깊이에 따른 하중-변위 곡선의 특성을 분석한다.

Evaluation of the Wear Resistance of PVD Coatings on Drills by Using a Slurry Jet Impact Test

  • In this paper, we propose a slurry jet (water containing $1\;{\mu}m$ alumina particles) impact test in order to quickly evaluate the wear properties of physical vapor deposited (PVD) coatings on commercial cutting tools. Linear wear was obtained for bothe coating and substrate material, and the penetration through the coating into the substrate was signified by a sharp increase in slope of the wear versus time curve. The PVD coatings deposited on the tools showed the same wear rates as those on reference plate specimens produced by the same coating methods. We conclude that our proposed evaluation technique for coatings is considerably useful as a screening test when evaluating coated tools like twist drills, taps, end mills, gear hobs, etc.

투과성 내부재가 설치된 사각형 탱크내의 슬로싱 해석 (Sloshing Analysis in Rectangular Tank with Porous Baffle)

  • An analytical model of liquid sloshing is developed to consider the energy-loss effect through a partially submerged porous baffle in a horizontally oscillating rectangular tank. The nonlinear boundary condition at the porous baffle is derived to accurately capture both the added inertia effects and the energy-loss effects from an equivalent non-linear drag law. Using the eigenfunction expansion method, the horizontal hydrodynamic force (added mass, damping coefficient) on both the wall and baffle induced by the fluid motion is assessed for various combinations of porosity, submergence depth, and the tank's motion amplitude. It is found that a negative value for the added mass and a sharp peak in the damping curve occur near the resonant frequencies. In particular, the hydrodynamic force and free surface amplitude can be largely reduced by installing the proper porous baffle in a tank. The optimal porosity of a porous baffle is near P=0.1.

  • The maximum current density that can be achieved in bipolar membrane electrodialysis is limited by the sharp increase in resistance that is experienced when the water content at the membrane interface is not adequately replenished and the membranes dry out. In this paper we show how the water content near the interface depends on the properties of the membranes. A water retaining parameter is introduced, which characterizes the thermodynamic properties of the membrane material and may be used to guide the choice of polymers for mitigation of the dry-out problem.

  • In mobile communication repeaters, very small size with sharp skirt response is needed as the BPF performances. The passband flatness of the proper BPF becomes very bad due to the low value of the resonator Q-factor used in the BPF. Which could girt serious level unbalance between channels. This flatness problem can he solved by a kind of compensated filler, which has 'reverse-curve'or 'concave shape'as the passband response. In this paper, the design method of the proposed 'concave bandpass filter'without matching and loss problems is presented. The designed and fabricated filter can properly and easily compensate the convex or bad flat passband response.

  • These days the large-scale car accidents have often been occurred by overspeeding in disregard of sharp curve, foggy and freezing regions. This paper has proposed the algorithm to calculate the safety speed in real time that can protect the car accidents under these weather and road conditions using Fuzzy reasoning theory. Under raining and snowing, drivers have to slow down the traffic safety speed by 1/3 of the traffic safety speed indicated on the existing speed sign plate based on their decision. So it is difficult to calculate and then observe the safety speed. This paper has performed the simulation that provides the deivers with the optimal safety speed considering the road and weather conditions in real time to improve these problems. We have proved this method can improve more 25% than the existing one.

기존선 교량구간의 장대레일화 방안 연구 (A study on constructing CWR for railroad on bridges)

  • The CWR, when installed on the bridge, may introduce extra responses in displacement, stress etc. due to the expansion of bridge girders. To release these responses, a special concern must be put on the CWR on bridges, especially for the long span bridges. Since the risk of derailment of vehicle due to buckling or breakout of the rails on bridges is of importance, the establishment of appropriate guidelines to check the performance of CWR on bridges is crucial for safe operation of train. In this study, using the program CWRAP, specialized for response of rails on bridges, several schemes for constructing CWR on bridges are suggested. In audition, a special concern is given to the bridge with sharp curve which is vulnerable to buckling due to temperature loads.

전사배향 TN-LCD의 액정배향 및 전기광학특성 (Liquid crystal alignment and EO performance of transcription-aligned TN-LCD)

  • In this paper, we obtained the monodomain alignment of nematic liquid Crystal(NLC) in the cell fabricated by transcription alignment method on polyimide(PI) surface with side chain. It is considered that the LC alignment produced by the transcription alignment method is attributed to a memory effect of the NLC on PI surfaces. Also we observed that the generated pretilt angle of NLC is about $3.7^{\circ}$ with transcription alignment on PI surface. Next, we measured that the voltage-transmittance characteristics of transcription-aligned TN-LCD are almost same compared to rubbing-aligned TN-LCD. Also, we measured that the curve of transcription-aligned TN-LCD is less sharp than that of the rubbing-aligend TN-LCD in the decay time characteristics. It is considered that the response time characteristics of transcription-aligned TN-LCD are attributed to the weak anchoring strength between the LC molecules and the polymer surface.

  • The electrostatically actuated test structure was presented to measure the micro mechanical characteristics of micromaterials as thin films forming the microactuators. The test structure was fabricated by the surface micromachining processes and driven by the electrostatic force, In order to measure the fracture toughness, the sharp notch in the test structure was introduced by the etching process. On the basis of the beam bending theory, the elastic modulus was measured by using the microcantilevr beam and the mechanical displacement, curvature and deflection curve under the electrostatic force was evaluated by using the electrostatic structure.

  • AHP를 사용하 교통망 사고 예방 처리 기법은 아직 우리나라에서는 처음 시도되어지는 예방법이라 할수 있다. 인공지능을 사용하여 사고처리하는 방법을 시도를 하였보았으나 그 외의 방법은 문외한이라 할수 있을 정도로 우리나라에서는 보기드문 현상이라 할수 있다. 따라서 계층분석기법을 사용하여 요소분석보다 훨씬 나은 처리방법이므로 좀더 나은 기법이 될 것 같고 다음으로 처리되는 방법의 기본 모티브가 될 영향이 크다라고 한다.
