Recently, researches on the shared authentication based on single sign-on have been actively performed so as to solve the problems of current service provider-centric and isolated Internet authentications, including low usability, high cost structure, and difficulty in privacy protection. In order for the shared authentication model, where the authentications of an authentication provider are shared by several Internet service providers, to be accepted in real Internet environment, trustworthiness among users, service providers, and authentication providers on the level of authentication assurance and the level of authentication information protection is necessarily required. This paper proposes a framework for trustworthy and privacy-protected shared authentication protocol based on the user-centric operation and open trust provider network. The proposed framework is differentiated from previous works in the points that it is able to provide interoperable shared authentication services on the basis of open trust infrastructure.

Several authentication methods have been developed to make use of tokens in the mobile networks and smart payment systems. Token used in smart payment system is genearated in place of Primary Account Number. The use of token in each payment transaction is advantageous because the token authentication prevents enemy from intercepting credit card number over the network. Existing token authentication methods work together with the cryptogram, which is computed using the shared key that is provisioned by the token service provider. Long lifetime and repeated use of shared key cause potential brawback related to its vulnerability against the brute-force attack. This paper proposes a per-transaction shared key mechanism, where the per-transaction key is agreed between the mobile device and token service provider for each smart payment transaction. From server viewpoint, per-transaction key list is easy to handle because the per-transaction key has short lifetime below a couple of seconds and the server does not need to maintain the state for the mobile device. We analyze the optimum size of the per-transaction shared key which satisfy the requirements for transaction latency and security strength for secure payment transactions.

OAuth 2.0 bearer token and JWT(JSON web token), current standard technologies for authentication and authorization, use the approach of sending fixed token repeatedly to server for authentication that they are subject to eavesdropping attack, thus they should be used in secure communication environment such as HTTPS. In OAuth 2.0 MAC token which was devised as an authentication scheme that can be used in non-secure communication environment, server issues shared secret key to authenticated client and the client uses it to compute MAC to prove the authenticity of request, but in this case server has to store and use the shared secret key to verify user's request. Therefore, it's hard to provide stateless authentication service. In this paper we present a randomized token authentication scheme which can provide stateless MAC token authentication without storing shared secret key in server side. To remove the use of HTTPS, we utilize secure communication using server certificate and simple signature-based login using client certificate together with the proposed randomized token authentication to achieve the fully stateless authentication service and we provide an implementation example.

Message Authentication Code (MAC) assures integrity of messages. In Mobile WiMAX, 128-bit Cipher-based MAC (CMAC) is calculated for management messages but only the least significant half is actually used truncating the most significant 64 bits. Naming these unused most significant 64bits Shared Authentication Information (SAI), we suggest that SAI can be applied to protect the network from DDoS attack which exploits idle mode vulnerabilities. Since SAI is the unused half of CMAC, it is as secure as 64bits of CMAC and no additional calculations are needed to obtain it. Moreover, SAI doesn't have to be exchanged through air interface and shared only among MS, BS, and ASN Gateway. With these good properties, SAI can efficiently reduce the overheads of BS and ASN GW under the DDoS attack.
A new optical one-time password (OTP) authentication method using digital holography is proposed, which enhances security strength in the authentication system. A challenge-response optical OTP algorithm based on two-factor authentication is presented using two-step phase-shifting digital holography, and two-way authentication is also performed using challenge-response handshake in both directions. Identification (ID), password (PW), and OTP are encrypted with a shared key by applying phase-shifting digital holography, and these encrypted pieces of information are verified by each party by means of the shared key. The encrypted digital holograms are obtained by Fourier-transform holography and are recorded on a CCD with 256 quantized gray-level intensities. Because the intensity pattern of such an encrypted digital hologram is distributed randomly, it guards against a replay attack and results in higher security level. The proposed method has advantages, in that it does not require a time-synchronized OTP, and can be applied to various authentication applications. Computer experiments show that the proposed method is feasible for high-security OTP authentication.

Open System Authentication Method, Shared Key Method, Mac Based Authentication Method are very hard to use in wireless network that needs security. So now, many researches have been performed about 802.1x and user authentication method applying PKI. but certificate verification protocol has been used abolished list called CRL since it's first usage of PKI, there were still has a problem about distribution point. This paper applied CVS to use CA direct not to use CRL and OSCP server in order to improve this problems. Also It suggested the system that can make authentication steps more shorter using authentication server and Mutual authentication system by public certificate(small size/low speed wireless terminal can access to wireless network fast and safely)

Authentication and key exchange are fundamental for establishing secure communication channels over public insecure networks. Password-based protocols for authenticated key exchange are designed to work even when user authentication is done via the use of passwords drawn from a small known set of values. There have been many protocols proposed over the years for password authenticated key exchange in the three-party scenario, in which two clients attempt to establish a secret key interacting with one same authentication server. However, little has been done for password authenticated key exchange in the more general and realistic four-party setting, where two clients trying to establish a secret key are registered with different authentication servers. In fact, the recent protocol by Yeh and Sun seems to be the only password authenticated key exchange protocol in the four-party setting. But, the Yeh-Sun protocol adopts the so called "hybrid model", in which each client needs not only to remember a password shared with the server but also to store and manage the server's public key. In some sense, this hybrid approach obviates the reason for considering password authenticated protocols in the first place; it is difficult for humans to securely manage long cryptographic keys. In this work, we introduce a key agreement protocol and a key distribution protocol, respectively, that requires each client only to remember a password shared with its authentication server.

MANET has various vulnerability in wireless network and is more vulnerable in security because central management is not performed. In particular, routing attack may decrease performance of the overall network because the mobile node acts as a router. In this paper, we proposed authentication technique for improving the reliability of the network by increasing the integrity of the routing control packet and blocking effectively attacks that occur frequently in the inside. The proposed technique is consisted of two authentication methods of ZCN and N2N. ZCN authentication method is to elect CA nodes and monitor the role of the CA nodes. N2N authentication method is for an integrity check on the routing packets between nodes. Index key is determined by combining the hop count value to shared key table issued from CA in order to increase the robustness of the internal attack. Also, the overhead of key distribution was reduced by distributing a shared key to nodes certificated from CA. The excellent performance of the proposed method was confirmed through the comparison experiments.

The home network environment can be defined as a network environment, connecting digital home devices such as computer systems, digital appliances, and mobile devices. In this kind of home network environments, there will be numerous local/remote interactions to monitor and control the home network devices and the home gateway. Such an environment may result in communication bottleneck. By applying the mobile agents that can migrate among the computing devices autonomously and work on behalf of the user, remote interactions and network traffics can be reduced enormously. The mobile agent authentication is necessary to apply mobile agent concept to the home network environments, as a prerequisite technology for authorization or access control to the home network devices and resources. The existing mobile agent systems have mainly used the public key based authentication scheme, which is not suitable to the home network environments, composed of digital devices of limited computation capability. In this paper, we propose a shared key based mobile agent authentication scheme for single home domain and expand the scheme to multiple domain environments with the public key based authentication scheme. Application of the shared key encryption scheme to the single domain mobile agent authentication enables to authenticate the mobile agent with less overhead than the public key based authentication scheme.
Each online user should perform a separate registration and manage his ID and password for each online commerce or SNS service. Since a common secret is shared between the user and the SNS server, the server compromise induces the user privacy breach and financial loss. In this paper, it is considered that the user's authentication material is shared between multiple SNS servers for user authentication. A blockchain service architecture based on Hyperledger Fabric is proposed for each user to utilize an identical ID and OTP using the enhanced hash-chain-based OTP.
