Online brand communities have become a major component of marketing strategy given that these communities encourage participation and share the culture of Web 2.0 core concepts to Internet users. This study investigated the effects of social capital and knowledge quality on the success of online brand communities. A research model suggests that trust among members and the identification derived from social capital theory and knowledge quality influence individual community participation; knowledge quality also influences brand trust. In turn, community participation and brand trust develop brand loyalty. The model was empirically analyzed using structural equation modeling with data from online brand community members in Korea. The results indicate that identification and knowledge quality significantly affects brand trust and brand loyalty through community participation. This study provides a basis for developing a success model for online brand communities. Also, this study identifies a new role of knowledge quality in an online brand community context.

Hanwoo, Korean cattle, is traditionally an important livestock to farmers and also important meat to consumers. Recently, to make more efficient production system and provide cheaper and high-quality hanwoo meat, the scale-up via brand is emphasized. However, the price of hanwoo is getting higher and the price increase is considered to occur due to marketing margins in the distribution process. In this study, factors affecting the hanwoo marketing margin are analyzed using 2004-2009 monthly data. In the Cochrane-Orcutt estimation of marketing margin, hanwoo production, other domestic production and import, income, output index, market share of major retailers, and market share of hanwoo brands shows statistical significance in the result. The results shows basic factors of the marketing margins to hanwoo and gives some implications to the management system of hanwoo brand like a sophisticated market segmentation and a differentiated promotion.

The survey was conducted from the 15th to the 26th of June 2009. We conducted a survey with 200 university students and 182 samples were analyzed. The data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0 with reliability analysis, frequency analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis and One-way ANOVA analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the factors of brand equity based on customers were "Brand Satisfaction", "Brand Reliability", "Brand Personality/Value", "Brand Characteristic", and "Brand Edge". Secondly, the order of brand equity based on customers in this study was Polo, Beanpole and Tommy Hilfiger. Brand equity is the added value endowed by the brand to the product. This concept born in the 1980's has aroused intense interest among market managers and business strategists from a wide variety of industries. Brand equity can be approached in different perspectives according to the motivations and the objectives of the studies. Consumer-based brand equity is examined internally by consumers' cognition and feeling and externally by consume behavior in the market By analyzing the relationship between them we can understand how brand value is made in the mind of consumers and how it is converted into the consumer behavior,. The brand is an especially important extrinsic cue in clothing products and the apparel industry has higher brand equity when it is actually compared with the brand equity of many other industries measured as a financial asset. Therefore the purpose of this study was to find out brand value of clothing products through clothing brand equity and to understand consumer behavior of the brand. And so we focused in consumer-based brand equity. For the empirical study three brands that are predicted to have different level of brand equity were selected based on prices and market shares of the brands. As the result the consumer-based brand equity is composed of emotional and cognitive dimensions and each dimension has several sub-dimensions. These diverse dimensions of brand equity bring about differences in consumers' purchase behavior market share and price premium of brands.

The iron and steel sector is caught between two worlds: "carbon reduction" and "development." The goal of this study is to show that optimizing asset structure to boost intangible assets, particularly brand assets, is a viable strategy to achieve low-carbon development. This study uses panel data from 38 A-share companies in China's iron and steel industry from 2010 to 2020, as well as World Brand Lab data, to create a comprehensive impact index of enterprise value from the standpoint of an asset structure optimization, and to test the impact of intangible assets and brand equity on enterprise value. The findings show that: the asset structure of iron and steel enterprises is closely related to enterprise value, implying that iron and steel industry development necessitates a transformation of quantity control and quality improvement; the proportion of intangible assets in the asset structure of iron and steel enterprises plays a positive and critical role in enterprise value under surplus conditions. The iron and steel industry begins to shift from tangible to intangible assets; there is heterogeneity in the iron and steel industry transformation. Given certain technological levels, the share of brand assets contributes significantly to the increase in enterprise value.
Social media has emerged as a major hub of engagement between brands and consumers in recent years, and allows user-generated content to serve as a powerful means of encouraging communication between the sides. However, it is challenging to negotiate user-generated content owing to its lack of structure and the enormous amount generated. This study focuses on the hashtag, a metadata tag that reflects customers' brand perception through social media platforms. Online users share their knowledge and impressions using a wide variety of hashtags. We examine hashtags that co-occur with particular branded hashtags on the social media platform, Instagram, to derive insights about brand perception. We apply text mining technology and network analysis to identify the perceptions of brand images among consumers on the site, where this helps distinguish among the diverse personalities of the brands. This study contributes to highlighting the value of hashtags in constructing brand personality in the context of online marketing.
Purpose - Typically, retailers will want PB(Private Brand) products to expand to the needs of low-PB loyal customers as well as existing PB(Private Brand) loyal customers. Therefore, a strategy of minimizing the share of the manufacturer brand in the distributor can be considered as a way to maximize the profit of the distributor. Research design, data, and methodology - In the previous study, the researches about the rivalry and conflict between the NB(National Brand) products and the PB products were mainly made. Previous studies did not model inter-national brand-level competition and inter-store competition. In addition, they have focused only on distributors' decisions from the manufacturer's perspective, and assume channel members have the same level of members(Choi, 1996). Results - This paper tries to apply the game theory to researches on how retailers can maximize the benefits of distributing NB(National Brand) products and PB(Private Brand) products, while distributors can also take advantage of their profits. Conclusions - It was found that providing cheap PBs did not help manufacturers and distributors. Distributors and manufacturers' profits were determined by consumers who purchased NB products that were higher in price and higher in perceived quality before providing existing PB products to consumers.
Generation MZ has emerged as a significant consumer segment and trendsetter in the fashion market of South Korea. Fashion designer brands have become popular among this generation by offering a range of fashion content on social network services (SNS) based on fresh and trendy designs. Despite the growing market share of fashion designer brands in the industry, previous research has mainly focused on brand personality in line with the characteristics of traditional fashion brands. Therefore, this study aims to derive brand personality and SNS characteristics of fashion designer brands based on previous research and investigate the influence of these factors on brand preference and behavioral intention. Moreover, it examines how this influencing mechanism fluctuates based on the consumer type (i.e., innovative type vs. price-sensitive type). Based on an online survey of 256 Korean adults with experience in fashion designer brands, this study identified the influencing mechanisms on purchase intention and word-of-mouth intention. This study contributes to empirical investigations of consumer brand preference and behavior intention in fashion designer brands through the brand equity model. It also offers insight into developing a segmented brand strategy by considering the variations in the influence mechanism of behavioral intention across different consumer types.

This study explores the evolving landscape of consumer experiences in the context of pop-up stores, considering the shifts from product economy to service economy and now the experience economy. It investigates the factors influencing consumer word-of-mouth intentions by examining the interplay of pop-up store experiences, brand equity, brand charisma, and verbal intent. Using Schmitt's strategic experience modules and the Aaker brand equity model, the study employs quantitative methods and data analysis to uncover the relationships among these variables. Surprisingly, it finds limited associations between the aspects of the pop-up store experience and brand equity. However, it highlights the direct impact of brand equity on brand charisma, which subsequently influences consumers' intentions to share brand-related information. This research contributes to our understanding of word-of-mouth marketing for pop-up stores, filling a knowledge gap and offering valuable insights for academics and businesses navigating the evolving marketing landscape. It also emphasizes the significance of brand charisma in the context of transient in-store experiences and evolving consumer preferences.
