  • This paper presents a visual feedback system that controls a micromanipulator using multiple microscopic vision information. The micromanipulation stations basically have optical microscope. However the single field-of-view of optical microscope essentially limits the workspace of the micromanipulator and low dept-of-field makes it difficult to handle 3D-shaped micro objects. The system consists of a stereoscopic microscope, three CCD cameras, the micromanipulator and personal computer. The use of stereoscopic microscope which has long working distance and high depth-of-field with selective field-of-view improves the recognizability of 3D-shaped micro objects and provides a method for overcoming several essential limitations in micromanipulation.   • This experiment was carried out to investigate the efficient turning method which will be able to use every cutting methods, to calculate the width of the center field which must transpose from rotary cutting method to return cutting method, to investigate the effects of L/W and unit field on the operation efficiency. The results are summarized as follows: 1. In case of cutting in the outer field, the efficient turning method is the "$\alpha$" type turning method (half U-shaped turning method) at the first rotation, is the "$\beta$" type turning method (T-shaped turning method) at the second to fourth rotation. 2. In case of cutting in the inner field, the efficient turning method which takes the least turning time is the "a" type turning method ($\Delta$-shaped turning method). 3. The width of the center field (W') changes by the length-width ratio (L/W) and width (W), W' is 9.0m in case that L/W is 2.5 and W is 30m. 4. The larger L/W and area of unit field (A) become, the more operation efficiency (E) increases, and the limits that E is affected signicantly by L/W is 2 to 3.5 and A is within 5,000$m^2$. within 5,000$m^2$.

  • In the measurement of atmospheric static electric field, it is important to know characteristics of corona discharges caused at the tip of test electrode. This paper presents the fundamental data of DC corona discharges that occurred at the tip of a needle-shaped electrode placed in the homogeneous background electric field which simulates the atmospheric static field under thundercloud. The major characteristics of interest for this purpose are the polarity effect of corona discharges and the magnitudes and time intervals of corona current pulses. The experimental set-up consists of the plate-to-plate configuration with a needle-shaped protrusion, DC power supply, and voltage and current measuring devices. As a result of experiments, the polarity dependence of corona pulses is significantly pronounced. The time intervals between successive corona pulses in the negative polarity is much longer than those in the positive polarity. The time intervals for both polarities is drastically decreased as the applied electric field is increased. Also the magnitudes of the positive corona pulses are slightly changed with an increase in applied electric field, but those of the negative corona pulses are linearly increased with increasing the applied electric fields.

비축대칭 H-형 및 U-형상의 압출금형 곡면의 자동생성 (Automatic Surface Generation for Extrusion Die of Non-symmetric H-and U-shaped sections)

  • In this paper, an automatic surface construction method based on B-spline surface and scalar field theory is proposed to generate the extrusion die surface of non-symmetric H-and U-shaped sections. The isothermal lines and stream lines designed in the scalar field are introduced to find the control points which are used in constructing B-spline surfaces. Intersected points between the isothermal lines and stream lines are used to construct B-spline surfaces. The inlet and outlet profiles are precisely described with B-spline curves by using the centripetal method for uniform parameterization. The extrusion die surface is generated by using the cubic curve interpolation in the u-and v-directions. A quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vectors at the inlet and outlet sections. To verify the validity of the proposed method, automatic surface generation is carried out for extrusion die of non-symmetric H-and U-shaped sections.

터널링 전계효과 트랜지스터 구조 특성 비교 (Comparative Investigation on Tunnel Field Effect transistors(TFETs) Structure)

  • TCAD 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 터널링 전계효과 트랜지스터(Tunnel Field-Effect Transistor; TFET) 구조에 따른 특성을 조사하였다. Single-Gate TFET, Double-Gate TFET, Pocket TFET, L-shaped TFET 구조 중에서 Pocket TFET와 L-shaped TFET이 on-current와 subthreshold swing에서 가장 좋은 성능을 보였다. 본 논문은 터널링 전계효과 트랜지스터의 새로운 구조에 대한 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 전자선 치료에 있어서 조사면을 부분적으로 차폐할 수 있는 차폐체 제작 방법을 제시하였다. Lipowitz 합금으로 만든 차폐체는 표준 Siemens cone에 적합하며, 조사면의 평탄도는 차폐체에 의한 영향을 거의 받지 않았다. 그러나 개방 조사면에 대한 차폐 조사면의 비가 0.7 이상이면 차폐체에 의한 선량의 차이가 있음을 알았다. Biggs 등이 제안한 Cone ratio는 차폐 조사면의 Cone ratio curve가 개방조사면의 Cone ratio를 따르지 않기 때문에 본 연구에서는 Cone ratio를 Cone factor와 Insert ratio로 나누어 차폐 조사면에 대한 선량 변화를 넓게 측정하였다.

  • In this paper, maxwell 3D finite element analysis program (Ansoft) was used to obtain electromagnetic properties associated with the coil and nearby structures. The electromagnetic emitting properties were presented by 3D simulation software operated at 250 kHz and some specific conditions. The electromagnetic field in the ferrite core was shown to be high and symmetric. An LS-100 luminance meter and a Darsa-2000 spectrum analyzer were used in the experiment. According to data on the lamp tested using high magnetic field ferrite, the optical and thermal wave fields were shown to be high around the ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamp. The optical or light field was high at the center of the bulb rather than around the ferrite core. The light conditions of the bulb were assumed to be complex, depending on the condition of the filler gas, the volume of the bulb, and the frequency of the inverter. Our results have shown coupling between the gas plasma and the field of the light emitted to be nonlinear.

  • This paper deals with the ESM(equivalent source method) with the continuation of acoustic near-field for NAH(near-field acoustic holography) to overcome the finite measurement aperture effect and reconstruct the normal velocity on an arbitrarily shaped structure surface. The continuation method is an extension of the measured sound field into a region outside and is based on the Green's function relating acoustic quantities on the two conformal surfaces. This algorithm is not limited to planar surfaces and can be applied to arbitrarily shaped surfaces. The ESM is an alternative approach of BEM-based NAH for the reconstruction on a general structure. In ESM the acoustic field is represented by a set of point sources located over a surface that is close to the structure surface. The simulation results of this study shows that the reconstruction error of particle velocity on the source surface is 11% and 16% for planar and cylindrical sources separately.

A new configuration in a prosthetic knee using of hybrid concept of an MR brake with a T-shaped drum incorporating an arc form surface

  • This paper focuses on developing a new configuration on magnetorheological (MR) brake damper as prosthetic knee. Prosthetic knee uses magnetic fields to vary the viscosity of the MR fluid, and thereby its flexion resistance. Exerted transmissibility torque of the knee greatly depends on the magnetic field intensity in the MR fluid. In this study a rotary damper using MR fluid is addressed in which a single rotary disc will act as a brake while MR fluid is activated by magnetic field in different walking gait. The main objective of this study is to investigate a prosthetic knee with one activating rotary disc to accomplish necessary braking torque in walking gait via T-shaped drum with arc surface boundary and implementing of Newton's equation of motion to derive generated torque at the inner surface of the rotary drum. For this purpose a novel configuration of a T-shaped drum based on the effects of a material deformation process is proposed. In this new design, the T-shaped disc will increase the effective areas of influences in between drum and MR fluid together and the arc wall crushes the particles chains (fibrils) of the MR fluid together instead of breaking them via strain in a conventional MR brake. To verify the proposed MR brake, results of the proposed and conventional MR brakes are compared together and demonstrated that the resisting torque of the proposed MR brake is almost two times greater than that of the conventional brake.
