A planned access method on constantly-changing-community unit plan changes and develops based on the periodical situation and also plan theory. In this research, it is to present the link between the theory of complex city change and the plan factor of it, and to show how Korean residential complex plan has changed as time passed and how new concept of city plan came up and by applying new methods how can this affect our real world and the past plan. In the phase of analysis, it analyzed the flow of 'community unit plan' and its theory and investigated the factor of compositional space and built a analysis frame. The factors of community unit plan are space structure, size and shape of block, population, distribution of facilities and movement system. It chose the place that can represent the flow of community unit plan trand and that indicates the obvious development leading to Jamsil (1975), Gwa Chun (1980), Mok Dong (1983), Sang Ge (1985), Ilsan (1989), Dong tan (2001) and Eun Jung (2003) total of 7 places. And to compare a similar size of the city, it selected a small community unit. Based on the result of theoretical study and prior research, it can be said that the space composition style has change from a whole complete complex area to a linked-cross over community unit and the access of urban level was on set. Also, a pedestrian walking area was secured and the dense of building structure and pleasant environment wanting need was in balance. For facility plans, the usage of facility and functional change brought change of type, size and disposition. The walking area for pedestrian became a huge matter. Therefore, market, education, public facilities and green system collaborated to co-build a whole community unit and activated the walking environment. Also, public transportation, environment friendly city organization was built.

With the development of information technology, the scale of computer software system is constantly expanding. Reliability and cost of software development have a great impact on software quality. In this study, based on the software failure interval time data, a comparative analysis was performed on the characteristics of the software development cost model based on the lifetime distribution following the Type-2 Gumbel and Erlang distribution in the NHPP model. As a result, the trends of the cost curves for the Go-Okumoto model and the proposed Erlang model and the Type-2 Gumble model both decreased in the initial stage and gradually increased in the latter half of the failure time. Also, Comparing the Erlang model with the Type-2 Gumble model, we found that the Erlang model is faster and more cost-effective at launch. Through this study, Software operators should remove possible defects from the testing phase rather than the operational phase to reduce defects after the software release date, it is expected to be able to study the prior information needed to understand the characteristic of software development cost.

Coastal structures, constructed for preventing coastal slope erosion, often causes the scour on the boundary between the coastal structure and the sea-bed, which might lead to collapse of coastal structures. To prevent the collapse, the usual upright block type coastal structures can be modified to other forms or systems of coastal structures. To validate the performance of the proposed systems, it is necessary to conduct high cost hydraulic experiments. If numerical modeling can be performed prior to the hydraulic experiments and the performance of the proposed systems is analyzed numerically in advance, the expenses can be reduced significantly by optimizing the number of cases for conducting the experiments. In this study, a fluid-structure interaction analysis procedure is proposed for modeling the hydraulic experiments of costal structures using the finite element package, LS-DYNA. As can be found in the usual hydraulic experiments, fluid velocities of potential scour locations are monitored and analyzed in detail for four types of coastal structures, block, step, trapezoid and rubble mound.
The present study was carried out to investigate the processes of the ultrastructural differentiation and the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activities of the developing rat retina. The results are as follows. The retina of fetal rat on the 13th day of gestation showed the early stage of differentiation. Briefly, there appeared dividing chromosomes, the plentiful free ribosomes, and the high ratio of nucleus to cytoplasm. The reaction products by AChE were localized at the membrane of endoplasmic reticulum and on the outer membrane of nucleus. Ultrastructures and AChE activities in the retina of the fetal rats on the 18th day of gestation were similar to those of the prior stages, except the appearence of rough endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. According to the ultrastructural observations, the rat retina was still in immature state at birth, but the pigment epithelial cells were fully differentiated, e. g. the increase of melanin granules, the development of mitochondria and Golgi apparatus. The AChE activity was weekly detected. The differentiated retinal layers and the outer segment of photoreceptor cells were observed on the 7th postnatal day. And the pigment epithelium appeared to be fully differentiated. On the 14th postnatal day, rat retina were completely differentiated. In other words, the rat retina was characterized by the prominent outer segments, phagocytosed residues in the pigment epithelium, and the localization of reaction products by AChE in the synapses. In conclusion, the differentiation of rat retina is charaterized by the changes of cell shape, the increase of retinal layers, and the alterations of AChE activities. It seems that rat retina is to be functional from 2 weeks of birth onward, coinciding with the eye opening of the juvenile rats.
A fractional step finite difference model for the longitudinal dispersion of nonconservative pollutants is applied to the Nakdong River to simulate the phenol spill accident which occurred on March, 1971. Prior to the dispersion calculation, the flow conditions are simulated to provide inputs to the dispersion model. An unsteady flow model based on Preissmann's four-point scheme is used for this purpose. Sensitivities of the dispersion calculation to empirical equations for dispersion coefficient and to the first-order decay coefficient are analyzed. The time to peak concentration at a downstream location is significantly different depending on the formula for the dispersion coefficient. Although the decay coefficient does not affect the shape of the temporal concentration distribution, the concentration values depend on the decay coefficient verb significantly. An optimization technique is used to calibrate the dispersion model as well as the flow model. The time to the peak concentration is simulated for major positions of water intake along the Nakdong River.
The purpose of this paper was to evaluate how students apply prior knowledge or experience in solving algebra word problems from the chain of signification-based perspective. Three middle school students were evaluated in this case study. The results showed that the subjects formed similarities in the process of applying knowledge needed for solving a problem. The student A and C used semi-open-end formulas and closed formulas as solutions. They then formed concrete shape for each solution using the chain of signification that was applied for solution by forming procedural similarity. At this time, the chain of signification could be the combination of numbers, words, and pictures (such as diagrams or graphs) or just numbers or words. On the other hand, the student C who recognized closed formulas and her own rule as a solution method could not formulate completely procedural similarity due to many errors arising from number information. Nonetheless, all of the subjects showed something in common in the process of coming up with a algorithm that was semi-open-end formula or closed formula.
This research was conducted to understand the different circumstances for wearing shirts by adult males aged 20-39, and to provide this basic information to the shirt industry prior to developing new functional men's shirts. A total of 345 respondents participated in the survey. Most of questionnaire, frequency, mean and standard deviation were calculated and the differences between the 20s and 30s were analyzed by t-test or ${\chi}^2$ test. The results of the survey are as follows. Grading the satisfaction degree of their body parts, the respondents were relatively unsatisfied with their height, weight, and waist, abdominal and hip circumferences. Majority preferred department stores, discount stores and outlets for purchasing shirts. Many have never owned tailored shirts - men in 20's had less experience with tailoring than men in 30's. The foremost selection criterion for purchasing shirts was fit -during purchase, men in their 20's considered fit more important than men in their 30's. The most preferred unbuttoning of the top button when wearing shirts. For favored collar shapes with one button unbuttoned, the most valued collar angle and style was V-neck shape when unbuttoned, low collar band, collar with unopened collar, and stiff collars. Most shirt designs and details included slim fit, no dart in the front and one dart on the back. Men in 20's more preferred the no dart in the front and one tuck on the back, as compared to men in 30's. On the other hand, men in their 30's preferred one dart shirts than men in 20's. Regarding shirt bands and cuffs, one button and regular collar and one button cuffs with round angle design, were the most preferred, respectively.

In this paper, we propose a method which recognizes human activity using model-based gaze direction estimation in an indoor environment. The method consists of two steps. First, we detect a head region and estimate its gaze direction as prior information in the human activity recognition. We use color and shape information for the detection of head region and use Bayesian Network model representing relationships between a head and a face for the estimation of gaze direction. Second, we recognize event and scenario describing the human activity. We use change of human state for the event recognition and use a rule-based method with combination of events and some constraints. We define 4 types of scenarios related to the gaze direction. We show performance of the gaze direction estimation and human activity recognition with results of experiments.

Curved duct channel flow characteristics for non-Newtonian gel fluid is investigated. A simulant gel propellant mixed by Water, Carbopol 941 and NaOH solution has been chosen to analyze the gel propellant flow behavior. Rheological data have been measured prior to the flow analysis where water-gel propellant and water-gel propellant with $Al_2O_3$ nano particles are both used. The critical Dean number examined by the numerical simulation in the U-shape duct flow reveals that although water-gel-nano propellants have higher apparent viscosity, the critical Dean number do show no notable difference for both the two gel propellant. It is found that the power-law index may be a dominant parameter in determining the critical Dean number and that the gel with particles addition may be more vulnerable to Dean instability.
Objective : The secondary verification of Leksell Gamma Knife treatment planning system (LGP) (which is the primary verification system) is extremely important in order to minimize the risk of treatment errors. Although prior methods have been developed to verify maximum dose and treatment time, none have studied maximum dose coordinates and treatment volume. Methods : We simulated the skull shape as an ellipsoid with its center at the junction between the mammillary bodies and the brain stem. The radiation depths of the beamlets emitted from 201 collimators were calculated based on the relationship between this ellipsoid and a single beamlet expressed as a straight line. A computer program was coded to execute the algorithm. A database system was adopted to log the doses for $31{\times}31{\times}31$ or 29,791 matrix points allowing for future queries to be made of the matrix of interest. Results : When we compared the parameters in seven patients, all parameters showed good correlation. The number of matrix points with a dose higher than 30% of the maximal dose was within ${\pm}\;2%$ of LGP. The 50% dose volume, which is generally the target volume, differs maximally by 4.2%. The difference of the maximal dose ranges from 0.7% to 7%. Conclusion : Based on the results, the variable ellipsoid modeling technique or variable ellipsoid modeling technique (VEMT) can be a useful and independent tool to verify the important parameters of LGP and make up for LGP.
