The purpose of this study was to compare consumer satisfaction by analyzing importance on characteristics of clothing, performance, and their inconsistency between Korea and the United States. The data was collected by using a survey based on three sages of pre-tests, and main survey conducted in The U.S and Korea. Data of 520 participants from each country (260 males and 260 females) was used. The results of this study is as follows: First, both consumers in Korea and U.S. showed five factors such as aesthetics/trend, body shape, practical use/wearing, care, and distorted. In performance factor of Korean students was consisted of wearing/care, aesthetics, body shape, distorted, and trend/symbolism while that of American students was consisted of wearing, aesthetics, body shape, trend/image factor, and distorted. Second, regarding importance rate, aesthetics/trend, practical use/wearing, care, and distorted affected satisfaction of Korean students whereas aesthetics/trend factor affected satisfaction of American students. Regarding performance, body shape factor, distorted, trend/symbolic affected satisfaction of Korean students whereas trend/image affected satisfaction of American students. Third, satisfaction of Korean and American students influenced re-purchase intention and positive word-of-mouth, so proved to be the result variable of satisfaction. By understanding the differences between consumers in Korea and U.S., apparel importers and exporters may develop effective business strategies to better fulfill their customers' needs and desires, and therefore, increase their profit.

최근까지 제품디자인에 있어서의 조형요소의 심미성에 관한 연구가 많이 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 기존의 연구는 "심미성 요인이 무엇인가\ulcorner"에 초점을 맞추어 왔을 뿐 각각의 심미적 요소들이 사용자의 심미적 반응에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지에 대해서는 그다지 연구된 바가 없다. 따라서 본 연구는 제품 디자인에서 심미성 요소를 내용미와 형태미로 나누어 서로의 상관관계를 파악하고 사용자의 심미적 반응에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 연구이다. 더욱이 연구의 초점이 내용미 중 전형성을 형태미 중 리듬을 중심으로 서로의 심미적 반응의 영향 정도와 가격과 브랜드력 같은 조절변수에 의해 심미적 반응이 어떻게 달라지는지를 검증하고자 하기 위한 연구이다.본 연구를 통하여 실제로 디자인 현장이나 기업에서 디자인에 있어서 심미적 영향요소를 적용하는 데에 대한 의미 있는 시사점을 제공해주고 디자인의 심미성에 대한 이론적인 체계를 만들어 가는 것에 기여하리라 본다.것에 기여하리라 본다.

In this paper, We propose the aesthetic exploration of horseback riding is considered to be the process of pursuing physical, mental, emotional, and social beauty. Despite the search effect of aesthetics in various aspects, the study of equestrian aesthetics in the field of physical education in Korea is very insufficient. Equestrian aesthetics is being studied in the field of special physical education and is being studied in the fields of rehabilitation and therapeutic horseback riding. Horse riding is a type of exercise. However, studies that track and observe various changes are inadequate. The purpose of this study is to explore the theory of equestrian aesthetics and to explore the possibility of approaching aesthetic theory from the top of horseback riding and to extend the area of equestrian game aesthetically. Until now, horse riding has been thought to be an aristocratic sport. Today, however, everyone can participate. Horseback riding is a sport for raising livelihoods, and it is a special sport that animals and humans enjoy in harmony. Equestrianism is a method of aesthetics from below, a philosophical method of aesthetics from the top, and a scientific method of empirical or positivistic direction. This study examines equestrian aesthetics from aesthetic point of view through the whole process of horse riding. The purpose of this study is to explore the aesthetics of horse riding through an aesthetic approach from the top, and to study the nature of aesthetics, a philosophical debate on beauty, Art can be divided into two categories: empiricism and positivism. For the sake of simplicity, the former is called the philosophical method, the latter is called the scientific method, and the latter is called the aesthetic from the bottom. Generally, in art, artistic, artistic works, perfumers, if you are grasped in the triangular shape, equestrian aesthetics can be described as triplets such as horse riding, passengers, and spectators. It was not easy to give satisfactory results in suggesting a new theory or a clear discussion due to lack of precedent research.

Today aesthetics expression could be a 'Everyday-life Beauty', because today art & design are closely related with a contemporary life. This thesis dealt with a everyday-life and sensitive design which sublimate from everyday-life material to the concept of aesthetics, such a purpose of this thesis establishes a base of everyday-life design through everyday-life aesthetics. This purpose made to pay attention to Japan's aesthetics concept, because Japan has been maintained and developed its own everyday-life aesthetics. Even if Japan doesn't have only everyday-life aesthetics, it is useful that is studies as some kind of a prototype. So this study analyzed about a everyday-life aesthetics and the expression method through the case-study of Japan. According to Yonagi Muneyoshi and Leonard Koren, the Wabi-Sabi has three conceptual characteristics like impermanent, incomplete, and imperfect and six expression characteristics like implication, tranquility, simplicity, coarseness, purity, and association. This study process is as follows. In the first a vocabulary of interior design was derived from three conceptual characteristics and six expression characteristics, and spatial facts was abstracted from it, and then volume, form, and then shape of composition facts of interior space was extracted from it. Finally the expression characteristics of the Wabi-Sabi in interior design was derived from these processes. In conclusion, the expression characteristics of the Wabi-Sabi in interior design is the transitional space through a Shadow, the conversional space through form and material composition, and the copying space through a natural friendship.

The Aesthetics of Kwanbok and Hyungbae and their Modern Applications Starting from practical purpose, kwanbok worn by government officers were developed in original and unique fashion over long time. In particular, as hyungbae (embroidered patches for kwanbok) that had been used for kwanbok has remained in existence even today, providing inspiration for a variety of design, it is bringing attention to the aesthetic value and importance of kwanbok. Under the circumstances, this study has elicited aesthetics from kwanbok and hyungbae as follows: First, they imply the wish of long life and happiness as a symbol of favorable omen and distinguish one's status according to the shape, color, and pattern. Second, kwanbok and hyungbae reveal our ancestors' naturalistic perspective in art. Third, pleats, slits and shapes in robes reveal practical aesthetics in composition. Fourth, slits in kwanbok create the aesthetics of contrast and harmony of lining and outer cloth. Modern applications of kwanbok is of value as they represent traditions and maintain the original forms, showing the image of Korea in the 21st century. Such efforts mean that they do not only make more beautiful clothes, but also create overall philosophies in life, including personal values.

The purpose of this study was to present adapting Korean aesthetics to the design of Wedding dress. For this study. Chosun Women's Pyoeui(coat) were considered. Pyoeui had the courtesy and variety. They were Jugeui, Wonsam, Hwalos, Dangeui, and Jangeui. Pyoeui were considered the formative features and the aesthetical values describing Shape, Color, Material, Pattern, and Ornament. And Pyoeui were considered the instances which were adapted their formative features to Wedding dress. The formative features appearing on Wedding dress were merely applied the outward shape. Therefore it will be necessary to understand the outward features and the aesthetical values about Women's Pyoeui for adapting Wedding dress. And then the continuous attempt is needed to adapt Korean aesthetics to the design of Wedding dress.

In estimating designed architectural buildings, many factors in various design domains such as function, structure, form, environment may be considered and then a building design might be selected or modified as final design from many possible design results. This paper proposed a method to obtain complexity values from two dimensional drawings which are floor plans or elevations. The Complexity values could be turned into esthetic values. The method has been developed based on information theory, shape pattern representation and cognitive theory. Results of measuring complexity value can make the computer evaluate and select final results produced from automatic design processes by the computer That is to say, aesthetic values based on order and chaos can be measured using complexity values and then some results having superior values can be selected as final result. Also some cognitive processes as perception of two dimensional drawings are discussed using shape representations. Aesthetic values could be varied in terms of shape properties such as size, individualities and knowledge as well as order and chaos.

The tensegrity structure by prestressed cable, which may have large freedom in scale and form and therefore are received much attention from the view points of their light weight and aesthetics, is a very flexible and geometrically unstable structure because the cable material has little initial rigidity. For the stable self-equilibrated state of the usually very deformable structure, the method to find the optimal initial stress by the shape analysis is proposed in this paper. The proposed procedure is to derive the nonlinear finite element formula of cable and truss members considering geometric nonlinearity and used to modified load incremental method adding to Newton-Raphson method with the proposed condition for optimal initial stress. The result of the shape analysis for the tensegrity structure with the radius of 30m is shown the almost approximated shape to architectural shape and the changed procedure of initial stress

George Nakashima (1905-1990) is a second-generation Japanese American who was one of the pioneers of the American Studio Furniture movement. Known for the use of natural timber shape of furniture design, Nakashima's furniture shows the aesthetic characteristics of Japan, which distinguishes it from the furniture of other American studio designers. But Nakashima has been regarded as simply a studio furniture designer, designing furniture that takes its natural form. Therefore, research is needed from a more diverse point of view, and the process of interpreting the cultural backgrounds of a designer becoming a design may be an important subject of study. Thus, this study attempts to interpret the hierarchy of design cultures belonging to a studio designer and to identify cultural characteristics that are not apparent. Therefore, through a process of studying from visible to invisible levels of cultural hierarchy, the study analyzed the aesthetic characteristics of the Nakashima's furniture, his personal experience of Japanese culture, and philosophical background.
