Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate factors that affect job stress among caregivers in long-term care facilities. Methods: Data were collected from 125 caregivers through a structured questionnaire targeting general characteristics, violent experiences, coping, and job stress from February 2 to March 10, 2015. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression using SPSS 21.0. Results: The rate of violence experienced by caregivers was 99.2% for verbal abuse, 99.2% for physical violence, 95.2% for physical threatening, and 62.3% for sexual abuse. The mean score for coping and job stress was above average. Job stress significantly differed by marital status, education level, facility size, and policy on workplace violence. The significant predictors of job stress included policy on workplace violence, violent experiences, and education level. The regression model explained 28.0% of the variance in job stress. Conclusion: To improve job stress of caregivers, it is necessary to establish policies for violence within the organization and to develop and apply various programs that allow caregivers to work safe from violence both physically and psychologically.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore violent experiences of home visiting health care workers in Korea. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional survey. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires from 1,640 health care workers. Data collection was done between September 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. Results: Of the respondents, 70.6% had experienced work-related violence. Shouting (51.9%) was the most common verbal violence, followed by verbalizing sexual remarks to the health care workers (19.0%) and touching the hands (16.5%), the most common acts relating to sexual harassment. Of the respondents who had experienced violence, 50.9% told their peers about the incidents. However, the major reasons why they did not report these incidents was due to the fact that they felt it was useless to file reports and that they expected such incidents to occur as part of their job. The majority of the respondents (86.4%) wanted education on how to deal with such violence at work. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that efforts should be made to increase awareness and to minimize violence in the workplace. Also, educational programs should be designed to improve knowledge and to prevent workplace violence.

Purpose: This study was done to examine the effect of a urinary incontinence management program on physical symptoms, daily life problems, and sexual life problems for women with mixed urinary incontinence. Methods: This study was conducted using a one group pre-test and post-test design. For the survey, 28 women having mixed urinary incontinence were chosen by convenience sampling and agreed to participate in this study. Their physical symptoms (urinary symptoms, maximum vaginal contraction pressure, and duration of vaginal contraction), daily life problems, and sexual life problems were measured. For descriptive statistics and Wilcoxon signed-rank test were used with SPSS Win 14.0. Results: There were statistically significant differences in the mean scores of physical symptoms (urinary symptoms and maximum vaginal contraction pressure), daily life problems, and sexual life problems. Conclusion: This urinary incontinence management program showed improvements in physical symptoms, daily life, and sexual life of women in the sample. The study results indicate that for effective urinary incontinence management programs nurses should recognize the importance of continual treatment and also develop coping strategies that have sensitivity and are appropriate for patients' daily and sexual problems.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the marital conflict and the conflict-coping method of self and spouse have an effect on the marital satisfaction in the early stage of marital life. The subjects of this study are the 132 couples in the area of Taegu and Pohang city. The instruments of measurement are marital conflict scale, conflict-coping method scale and Kansas marital satisfaction scale(KMSS). The data are analysed through factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, paired t-test and stepwise regression analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows: Firstly, as a result of figuring out couples' marital conflict, husbands and wives are having the highest conflict in the personality factor. The difference of marital conflict between husbands and wives is shown significant in the relative factor. Secondly, as a result of figuring out couples' conflict-coping method, husbands and wives use mostly the reasonable behavior and leastly physical aggression. The difference of conflict-coping method between husbands and wives is shown significant in the verbal aggression, adjustment renunciation and physical aggression. Thirdly, as a result of figuring out how the marital conflict and the conflict-coping method of self and spouse have an effect on the marital satisfaction, the communication factor of the conflict factors, the wives' verbal aggression perceived by husbands, and the reasonable behavior of the self have much effect on the marital satisfaction in case of husbands. Little is known about sexual autonomy in the light of human sexual health or sexual behavior. The purpose of this study was to increase understanding of sexual autonomy by developing a scale to measure sexual autonomy in college students. The measure was based on the perspective of human beings as having autonomy. A methodological developmental design was used. The study was done in three steps and included concept development through content analysis of relevant literature individual interviews using open-ended questions with 19 college students, item analysis of data from self report questionnaires for item to total correlation, content validity index by professionals and college students, and factor analysis with principal component analysis. Three groups participated in testing the measurement scale; Group A in 1998, a nationwide convenience sample of college students (n=1,163), Group B, college students in 1999 (n=233), and Group C, college students in 2000 who responded to the measurement scale before and after a sex education program (n=216). A series of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to test validity. For analysis of the questionnaires, statistical methods including reliability (test-retest), item to total analysis, content validity, factor analysis for construct validity and t-test for mean difference according to gender, sexual coitus, previous sex education, and pre-post experiment sex education were used with SPSS 10.0. Results: 1. Two stable factors were extracted and these contributed 48.05% of the variance in the total score. All 13 items loaded above .40 on each factor. 2. Factor I with 10 items was named 'control' and factor II with 3 items and was named 'coping'. 3. Differences in sexual autonomy scores for college students according to their experience showed that there were significantly higher scores for sexual autonomy in the post sex education group(t=-10.841, p=.000), but there were no differences according to whether or not they had previous sex education. Female college students had higher sexual autonomy scores than male college students in A or B group (t=-5.933, p=.000/ t=-1.992, p=.048). 4. Cronbach's $\alpha$ was .8603 for the total 13 items with 1,632 college students, .8739 with 232 students, .8333$\sim$.7647 with pre-post sex education with 216 students. This measurement was found to have a high validity and reliability for measuring sexual autonomy in college students. Therefore, the author recommends that it be used to measure the effects of sex education. It is suggested that further study is needed to analyze the relationship between sexual autonomy and sexual behavior.
