  • Purpose: This study was examined the quality of the sexual life among married women in terms of the factor structure of Sexual Quality of Life(SQOL) and evaluated the predictive value of 11 variables for SQOL. Method: Two hundred and ninety-three married women completed the Korean version SQOL scale with information on age, education, length of marriage, family income, health, sexual knowledge, coital frequency, harmony with family members, levels of affection, and general and sexual communication. Data were analysed with principal components and regression analyses. Result: The SQOL scale had two clearly defined factors, Negative Quality of Sexual Life and Positive Quality of Sexual Life, on which all scale items were significantly loaded, accounting for 54.3% of the total variance. Independent regression analysis showed all variables except education to be significant predictors of SQOL with interpersonal variables (general and sexual communication, affection and harmony with family members) being the most powerful predictors. However when the 11 variables were combined together in stepwise analysis, only 6 variables (general communication, age, affection, coital frequency, sexual knowledge and health) were significant, accounting for 39% of the total variance. Conclusion: The Korean version SQOL scale is a good measure to tackle SQOL in married women. To enhance SQOL, strengthening interpersonal interaction focusing on general/sexual communication, affection and harmony with family members seems to be more important than sexual activities and personal characteristics.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of self-efficacy in the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), knowledge of and susceptibility to STD, and the role of gender in sexual autonomy. Methods: Data were collected from 267 college students using self-report questionnaires during the period from the first to the twentieth of June 2015. Data were analyzed using $x^2$ test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, simple and multiple regression techniques with the PASW/WIN 20.0 program. Mediation analysis was performed according to the Baron and Kenny method and Sobel test. Results: In male students, self-efficacy for STD prevention showed a full mediating effect in the relationship between STD susceptibility and sexual autonomy (${\beta}$=-.08, p=.370). But in female students, it had a partial mediating effect (${\beta}$=-.25, p=.001). And self-efficacy for STD prevention showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between knowledge of STD and sexual autonomy in the both male (${\beta}$=.25, p=.005) and female students (${\beta}$=.33, p<.001). Conclusion: To enhance college students' sexual autonomy, it may be useful to build effective strategies enhancing students' knowledge about and susceptibility to STD and to develop a self-efficacy promotion program for college students.

Methods: This research followed the pre-test /post-test experimental and control group design. The selected school children of four classes at sixth grade in the H primary school in Gyeongi-do uijeongbu province had a pre-test about the knowledge and attitude toward sexuality. With the result of homogeneity data, three classes out of the four classes were chosen to be the subject of the post-test and these three groups took the "Sexual Education through Pictures." Results: After analyzing the data, average scores about the knowledge for class participants were higher than the non participants' (p =.000). Average scores about the knowledge of boys and girls who participated in class were higher than the non participants' (boys; p =.00, girls: p =.000). In addition, average scores about the attitude for class participants' were higher than the non participants' (p =.03), but there was not statistically significant among gender. Conclusion: From the results above, "Sexual Education through Pictures" proved to be a systematic and scientific method to develop a positive influence towards the knowledge and attitude of sexuality for primary school children of the sixth graders. These results show that the above teaching materials suggest an effective method to develop appropriate knowledge and attitude towards primary school children's sexual education.
