A Study on the Dyeing of Ramie Fabric Treated with Medicinal Plant V. The Natural Dyeing on Ramie Fabric Using Epimedium brevicornum Herba

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of Epimedium brevicornum Herba extract on the treatment of chromaticity and colorfastness. Epimedium brevicornum Herba has been used as a Korean medicine. It is effective in sexual excitement, depressant of blood pressure and anti-virus. It is also good as a tonic and in treating involuntary emission of semen. In the long history of Korea, dyeing has been applied for a means representing the grace of natural and inner esthetic consciousness of man. Vegetable dyes give us such great benefits, diversified color, but no pollution. And ramie fabric has distinctive features such as beautiful brilliance, elegance, and strong durability. So, it is regarded as a special product of Korea traditionally. These studies were carried out to treat with acetate iron, dichloride copper and alum with a mordant to ramie fabric. The ramie fabric was died with Epimedium brevicornum Herba extract. The results of experiment showed as follows: First, the chromophoric degree was the highest in acetate iron but not distinction in another mordants. Second, the light colorfastness was the highest in non treated and dichloride copper, but alum was the lowest. Third, the discoloration was alum and dichloride copper showed first grade in washing colorfastness. Abrasion colorfastness was not significant in this test. According the previous results, Epimedium brevicornum Herba has an efficiency in sexual excitement, depressant of blood pressure and anti-virus. So it is considered that Epimedium brevicornum Herba can be applied effectively to tonic and in treating involuntary emission of semen.

  • The purpose of this study was to review such results of the scientific and technological development as women's changed status, sexual identity and their views of physique in the cyber space based on cyber feminists' theories, and thereby, examine the concept of space during the medieval age, and then, the fundamental spiritual concept involving the fetishism of women's body as sexual objects in the materialistic space of the digital age in terms of the consciousness of trend or supra-sensual perceptions, and thereby, review the effect of the cyber terrorism and violence on the fashion in sub-cultural terms. Some researchers distinguish psychedelic styles from cyberdelic ones to assume such psychiatric visions as psychedelic fashion characterized by resistance and delinquency-cyber punk fashion, cyber hippie fashion, cyborg fashion- and then, define them all as cyber resistant culture fashion or as a sub-cultural style of the cyber culture. As a result, it was found that human bodies are being encoded with the networks, various cyber characters or avatars are emerging, while human bodies are being distorted or exaggerated with human beings and machines being imploded.

  • The purpose of this study was to collect fundamental data for sex education by investigating the actual conditions of sex education, concerns about sex, knowledge of sex and consciousness about sex. The subjects were 212 middle school girls and 219 high school girls in Ggyeong Nam. The results were as follows 1. There was no significant difference between middle school girls in knowledge of sex. 2. The most frequently experienced problem concering other sex was about dating and the many consultants were friends. 3. The stimulation of sexual desire was brought by film$.$TV$.$VTR, and advertisement, and sex information was acquired from friends or magazines in both schools students. 4. The reason of high school students for needing sex education was to solve moral problems and the reason of middle school students was to solve the anxiety in adolescence. 5. The students wanted their sex educator to be the expert in the field of sex education, home economist and nurse teacher, in order. 6. The contents of sex education desired by students were; physiological differences of a man and woman, etiquette and matter with other sex, a sexual problem of teenager and pregnancy$.$delivery$.$child care.

A Study on Factors Related to sex behavior and attitude of unmarried person (미혼남녀의 성행태 및 성의식 관련 요인분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse factors related to sex behavior and intention to premarital purity on the basis of theory of reasoned action. A structured Questionnaire was developed on the basis of Triandis model. Survey was conducted to 1662 unmarried person in high school students, college students, and workers. The results are as follows. For the factor of sexual behavior, male, older age had higher experience to sexual relationship, but for the factor of premarital purity, female and workers than student had higher consciousness of purity. Positive attitude to premarital purity, expectation toward preservation of purity, parental and social normative influence and facilitating factor such as experiences of sex education showed significant relationship to intention of premarital purity. Also multiple logistic regression showed that health behaviors such as smoking and drinking, sex and job were statistically significant factor for sex behavior. The result of this study suggest that educational program sex as well as good health behavior should developed and theory-based models in conducting health education research.

  • This study aimed to present a realistic policy direction to reduce human rights violations by analyzing the mechanisms of its factors affecting the experience of human rights violations for middle and high school student athletes. The method analyzed the response data of 13,205 student athletes through a structured questionnaire using logistic regression analysis. The independent variable consisted of sexual violence, sexual shame, physical violence, verbal violence, bullying, invasion of privacy and learning rights, and unfair leaders' actions related to exercise. As a result of the analysis, first, the team atmosphere, human rights consciousness in their sports and in the sports field were found to have a significant influence on physical and language violence, bullying, privacy and infringement of learning rights. Second, for the experience of sexual violence, the team atmosphere and the level of awareness of human rights violations in the sports community had a significant effect, but the permission of violence in the sports community and human rights consciousness in their sports did not appear as meaningful variables. Third, it was found that the unfair experience related to exercise had a significant effect on the team atmosphere, the overall level of violence in the sports community, and the its awareness of human rights violations in the sports community.

The Critical Discussion about Lacanian Structural Definition of Sexual Difference. (남녀성차에 대한 라캉의 구조적 정의와 그 문제)

  • This paper analyzes the concept of Lacanian subject and the structural definition of sexual difference between man and woman, and criticizes some problems of those definitions. It seems to me, to do so, that it is important to know precisely the core terms of psychoanalysis quoted by Lacan. We should analyze the basic meanings and the relation of the Imaginary, Symbolic and the Real, of ideal ego and ego ideal, of phallus and signifier, of desire and the other, of consciousness and unconsciousness, of alienation and separation, etc. I'm going to discuss the relation between the Imaginary and the ideal ego in chapter 2, and then, deal with the relation between the Symbolic and the ego ideal in chapter 3. I'll explain both similarity and difference between the ideal ego and ego ideal through those discussions. In chapter 4, I'm planning to explain the relation among the other, desire and the subject of unconsciousness. In chapter 5, I'll analyze the meaning of phallus and signifier. I'll criticize the Lacanian structural definition of sexual difference on the basis of the work made in former chapters. These discussions will lead to my final conclusion that the concept of Lacanian subject and the structural definition of sexual difference are only dependent on reductionism regarding everything as symbolic, which has in itself a lot of contradiction. In order that All discussions about sexual difference have at least a objective meaning, they have to rely on anatomical differences between man and woman.

Gender-Egalitarianism in Middle School Students (중학생의 남녀평등의식수준)

  • Purpose : In an attempt to analyse gender-egalitarianism related to the general characteristics, sexual consciousness and behavior in middle school students, this study was carried out. This study will provide data that can be used to develop sexuality education programs on the basis of gender-egalitarianism. Method : The subjects were 141 students (70 boys and 71 girls) in 4 classes that were randomly selected from among 8 classes of first graders in a coeducational middle school, in Seoul. For the evaluation of gender-egalitarianism, a Gender Egalitarianism Scale modified by the researcher was used. Results : Major findings were as follows: 1. Gender-egalitarianism was significantly higher in girls compared with boys. All of the boys and girls, had high gender-egalitarianism in the aspect of woman's ability in groups without sexual discrimination, but low gender-egalitarianism in woman's sexual conversation and style of dress. 2. Gender-egalitarianism in boys who had experienced intersexual physical contact, categorized as holding hands, embracing, kissing, and petting, was significantly higher when compared with inexperienced boys. 3. Gender-egalitarianism significantly increased as the father's education level increased as well as the father's open-mindedness. Factors influencing gender-egalitarianism was social acceptance, the mass media, the attitudes of the school teachers, and the attitudes of older and younger student in school. Conclusions : Based on these results, boys' gender-egalitarianism was lower than that of girls. Systematic education on gender-egalitarianism, combined with sexuality education, is necessary for middle school students, especially boys. In the long term, social acceptable the, mass media, school and home life should be changed for the achievement of the equality of the sexes.

  • In clothing, a tendency of Bisexuality is in case of wearing clothing of the opposite sex, the mixing of modeling principle and characteristic of man and woman, the exclusion characteristic of sexuality that present sexlessness-the third sex. He focus women's new image as man living liberal and indivisual life excluding social category rather than will of equality of man and women. Gernreich break sexual prejudice and release women freely, furthermore, as he express concern of sexuality pursuit liberty of mankind surpassing sex distinction with women liberty. Gianni Versace pursuit mix and extinguishment of sexual image many-sided, and break fixed idea of sex, and reprovide feminine and masculine image. So his design tend homosexuality because he regard women's glamor and ostensible sexuality as standard of beauty, he apply this to man's wear as well as women's wear. With this, he expresses sensitive and liberal man's that break characteristic of Gender that symbolize power and authority in man's wear through 'Without ties'.

Displacement of Modernism: Edna St. Vincent Millay's Rewriting Carpe Diem Tradition (모더니즘의 일탈 -에드나 세인트 빈센 밀레이의 카르페 디엠 전통 다시 쓰기)

  • This paper aims to explore how Millay's love sonnets rewrite the carpe diem tradition in the complicated ways. This paper redirects critical attention away from Millay's individual experience and inner self toward the scene of literary history, suggesting that there may be more historical consciousness in Millay's sentimental and feminine "gesture." Rewriting the carpe diem tradition, Millay's sonnets reveal an awareness of the dependence of the carpe diem poems' discursive logic on the woman's coyness, its inability to accomplish its triumph over woman or time (death) without her posited reluctance. Contrary to Andrew Marvel's "To His Coy Mistress," the speakers of Millay's sonnets could never be accused of the sexual coyness; they are outspoken in their defiance of both death and lovers whose possessiveness resembles death's embrace. Moreover, as Stacy Carson Hubbard points out, by converting female sexual experience from its status as a onetime closural event to repeatable one, hence an opportunity for the general and emotional irritability productive of narrative, Millay seizes for the woman the power of "dilation" in both its sexual and its verbal forms. Furthermore, this paper argues that the woman's sex no longer invites analogies to things secret and sealed, preserved or ruined in Millay's sonnets. The woman's promiscuity implies a rejection of monumentalizing love, as well as a refusal of the fixing inherent in the carpe diem's fearful invocation of the movement of time. Throughout the love sonnets, the speaker's sexualized body produces nothing but ephemera. For Millay, this body spends its powers in hopes of having them, and the force of this spending is a perpetual and willful forgetting, which makes possible the repetition of love's story. Ultimately, Milly disturbs our critical categories by rendering permeable boundaries between modern literature and dead form of classic literature, the female speaker and male speaker.
