Data were analyzed by multiple regression analyses of the SAS program. Children's problem behaviors were positively correlated with their perception of marital conflict. After intervention, children's perception of the resolution of marital conflict moderated their aggressive or immature behavior. Sex and age differences showed salutary effects of marital conflict resolution on boys' but not girls' behavior problems and on 6th grade students but not 4th grade students.

  • The psychometric properties of a preliminary version of the Friendship Quality Scale(FQS) were examined with data collected from 300 3rd and 5th grade children. Scores on the Self-Perception Scale were obtained to examine convergent validity. The FQS assesses friendship quality in 9 sub-scales, inclusive of 6 friendship functions. Factor analysis confirmed the 9 sudscale structure of the FQS for 5th graders, but 4 friendship functions instead of 6 were a better fit for 3rd graders. Except for one, the sub-scales showed relatively high internal consistency ; Cronbach ${\alpha}$ ranged from .70 to .93. Convergent validity was indicated by correlations between self-perception and sex differences in friendship functions. Friendship functions and satisfaction were related to self-perceptions in social acceptance, behavior, and global self-worth. Girls reported higher friendship functions and satisfaction in friendship than boys.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the behavioral, attitudinal, and demographic correlates of light, medium, and heavy users of eating out at family restaurants. Among 358 reponses from the subjects, 224 responses were utilized for the analysis, and 134 responses were reserved for validating the discriminant function. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, stepwise discriminant analysis, canonical discriminant analysis, and anova analysis were used for this study. The findings from this study were as follows: First, He behavioral characteristics were found to discriminate among the three usage groups. Second, it was found that heavy users expressed greater difference between perception and expectation on the quantity of food that are appropriately served and the consistent quality of food at every visit. Third, the usage rate of eating out was not dependent on the sex, but dependent on the companion, average expenditure, and the time of eating out in chi-square test. Finally, the results of the study provide some insight into the pattern of marketing strategies that can be successfully used by the managers of family restaurants.

  • Korean-American and American adolescents' attitudes toward the elderly(OP Scale) and their perception on the generational difference(GN GAP) were compared to find whether there is a difference according to the race. Adolescents' perceived generational gap was considered to be one of the most influential factor affecting their attitudinal differences. Adolescents regardless of face showed a somewhat positive attitudes toward the elderly and they perceived generational gap a little positively. Adolescents' age and sex were found not to be related with their attitude toward the elderly and generational gap. For the Korean-Americans birth-order was negatively related to the generational gap perception. the quality of relationship with grandparents was the crucial factor influencing adolescents' perceptions on generational gap and their attitudes toward the elderly indirectly. Grandparents' health and age affected on the quality of relationship. Additionally adolescents' favorite g andparent was found to be maternal grandmother and their relation style and conflict areas were different according to the race.

  • This study analyzed and defines the property of visual perception throughout the revision of the observation time of the original space and the rotating space. The conclusions of this study are as fellows: First, based on the existing theory and experiment, the study obtained the basis which decides the sector data originating fixation-gaze after staring the specific sector over 300ms time. It will become the turning point hereafter for our research to fix the time in this way. Second, in analyzing the minute data, the study built a revision method of the observation time by analyzing the meanings and the reasons of the revision of the original data. Third, according to the difference of revision quantity, female testee have more increases in the amount of data than male testee from the original screen. On the other hand, the opposite tendency appears from the previous data. This shows there is a difference in the observation properly by sex. Last, we could grasp Information about the property of the observation time throughout eyeball fixations, and the revision and analysis of the 'controlled observation data'. These data can be used in design element arrangement of interior space, hereafter.

  • This study was conducted to analyze the priority of environmental problems in Korea by investigating the environmental professionals' perception. The delphi technique was applied to identify their risk perception towards some specific items related with pollution. A standardized questionnaire on environmental problems and their priorities was used to 74 subjects. In the questionnaire, the environmental problems were divided into the general ones,9 items, and the specific ones,30 items. Also, the perception was associated with two points of view which were the risk on general human health or ecosystem, and on the present situation in Korea. The priority of risk from general environmental problems on human health or ecosystem was analyzed in the order of 'water pollution', 'air pollution', 'soil contamination', 'waste', 'toxic chemical pollutants', 'food contamination', 'ocean contamination', 'odor pollution', and 'noise pollution'. The priority of risk on the present situation in Korea was analyzed in the order of 'water pollution','air pollution','waste','toxic chemical pollutants','food contamination','soil contamination','ocean contamination','odor pollution', and 'noise pollution'. And these priorities were significantly related with the characteristics of respondents such as sex, age, and major concerned area. However, for the first five priorities of risk from the specific environmental problems on human health or ecosystem, the environmental professionals agreed with 'automotive vehicle exhaust', 'domestic and industrial source pollutants to surface water', '$CO_2$nd g1oba1 warming effect','toxic air pollutant' and 'industrial source air pollution'. The priorities of risk on the present situation in Korea were similar to these results.

Therefore, the study was aimed at identifying the Adult's perceptions of health concept. The subject's consisting of 312 adults, who were sampled through area sampling from May 10 to May 30,1988. The instruments used for this study were Health Conception Scale, which was developed by Smith, Laffrey's revised and tested its reliability. The data was Analyzed by S.P.S.S. program and the results were as follows ; 1. The results of the reliability test for content of health concept was $\alpha$=.87. 2. The respondents perception of Health Meaning were inclined to emphasize the functional / role performance dimension rather than clinical dimension. 3. The perceptual level of health concept was proved to be significantly different by the variable : age, sex, religion, area marital status. In conclusion, adult's perception of Health Concept is revealed that functional and role performance dimension is more important than other dimensions. Futher study is necessary to clarify the structure of functional, adaptive, eudaimonistic dimension and systematic study with subculture will be and repetitive verification and modification of this tool is demanded.
