  • Solar cell generate DC power from sunlight whose power is different at any instance according to condition of variables : insolation and temperature. In order to improve the system utility factor and efficiency of energy conversion, it is desirable to operate the PV system at maximum power point of solar cell under different condition. In this paper, Boost chopper is controlled it output voltage with a new discrete control algorithm for MPPT. PWM signal of DC-DC converter are generated with a 89C51 microcontroller. Switching frequency of DC-DC converter is set at 10KHz. Simulation and experimental results show that the PV system studied in this paper is always operated at maximum power point under different maximum power point of solar cells having stabilized output voltage waveform with relatively small ripple component

  • Sonoluminescence (SL) characteristics such as pulse shape, radiance and spectrum radiance from submicron bubbles were investigated. In this study, a set of analytical solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations for the gas inside bubble and equations obtained from mass, momentum and energy equations for the liquid layer adjacent the bubble wall were used to estimate the gas temperature and pressure at the collapse point, which are crucial parameters to determine the SL characteristics. Heat transfer inside the gas bubble as well as at the liquid boundary layer, which was not considered in the most of previous studies on the sonoluminescence was taken it into account in the calculation of the temperature distribution inside the bubble. It was found that bremsstrahlung is a very possible mechanism of the light emission from either micron or submicron bubbles. It was also found that the peak temperature exceeding $10^{6}$ K in the submicron bubble driven at 1 MHz and 4 atm may be due to the rapid change of the bubble wall acceleration near the collapse point rather than shock formation.

  • 전도된 정체점 흐름을 갖는 반응기 안의 가열된 석영(quartz) 표면에서 암모니아($NH_3$)가 분해되는 반응을 실험과 수치 모사을 이용하여 조사하였다. 질소($N_2$)와 혼합된 8 mole%의 암모니아를 사용하였고 반응 표면으로 사용된 석영 표면을 가열하기 위한 전열기의 온도는 $300{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ 범위로 설정하였다. 라만 분광법(in situ Raman spectroscopy)을 이용하여 획득한 반응기 내부의 온도와 암모니아 농도 정보를 반응기 모델을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 전열기의 온도 설정에 의존하는 석영 표면의 온도는 $235{\sim}619^{\circ}C$ 범위였으며 암모니아 분해 반응의 활성화 에너지는 10.9~15.8 kcal/mol 범위를 가졌다.

KNU 식물공장의 냉난방 에너지 부하 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heating and Cooling Energy Load Analysis of the KNU Plant Factory)

  • KNU 식물공장 모델의 냉난방 에너지 부하를 DesignBuilder를 이용하여 해석하였다. 실내설정온도, LED 보광주기, LED 보광량, 유리외피의 구조에 따른 에너지 소모량을 분석하였다. LED 보광이 없는 식물공장의 실내설정온도를 상추의 적정 생육온도인 $20^{\circ}C$를 중심으로 $15^{\circ}C$, $25^{\circ}C$로 변화시키면서 일정온도로 유지하는데 필요한 연간 냉난방부하를 분석하였다. $15^{\circ}C$일 때 냉방부하, $25^{\circ}C$일 때 난방부하가 가장 크게 나타났다. 상추 재배에 필요한 LED 보광 적용 시 난방부하는 감소하지만 냉방부하가 약 6배 증가한다. 또한 LED 보광 시 주간보다는 야간보광이 냉난방부하 감소에 유리한 결과를 주었다. 식물공장 외피가 냉난방부하에 미치는 영향을 비교하기 위하여 다섯 가지 종류의 외피를 적용하여 계산하였다. 이중창호의 열관류율이 작을수록 식물공장의 난방부하는 감소하고 냉방부하는 증가하였다. 재배할 작물의 적정생장온도 설정, LED 및 재배설비의 내부발열량에 따른 적절한 외피선택, 다양한 패시브 및 액티브 에너지 절감기술의 적용으로 냉방부하를 감소시키는 것이 식물공장 운영에 중요한 요소로 판단된다.

금형온도제어에 대한 실천공학모형 연구 (A Study on Practical Engineering Model for Tool Temperature Control)

  • 사출 성형에서 금형 온도는 성형품의 품질에 큰 영향을 준다. 어느 정도의 온도가 적정한가는 성형 재료, 성형품에서 요구되는 품질에 의해서 결정되고 중요한 것은 그 온도가 안정적이어야 한다. 먼저 그 수지에 적합한 금형 온도 조건 범위 내에서 성형품이 요구하는 품질에 맞는 금형 온도를 설정해야 한다. 즉, 성형품의 표면 광택, 성형 사이클의 단축, 변형 방지, 수축 및 수지 흐름의 용이성 등의 중요성에 의해서 금형 온도는 변화한다. 실질적인 금형 기술 향상을 위해서 사출 금형을 설계하고 제작하는 산업체에서 적용할 수 있는 온도 제어에 대한 애로 기술 과정의 훈련 모형을 제시하고자 한다.

  • A common approach to achieve better thermal comfort with hydronic radiant floor heating system is supply water temperature control. This is the control method through which supply water temperature is varied with outdoor temperature. In this study, a comprehensive, yet simple calculation method to find optimum supply water temperature is evaluated by combining heat loss from the building and heat emission from the hydronic radiant floor heating system. And then the control performance of suggested calculation method is confirmed through experiment. It is shown that indoor air temperature is stably maintained around the set point.

해상풍력단지 J-Tube 내부 해저케이블의 절연 특성 평가 (Insulation Characteristics Evaluation of Submarine Cables Inside the J-Tube of Offshore Wind Farms)

  • Demand and necessity for eco-friendly offshore wind farms have been increasing. Research on submarine cables is constantly being considered for a reliable and stable power transmission. This study aimed to evaluate the thermal aging characteristic of submarine cables inside the J-tube of offshore wind farms. In this study, a submarine cable was set in three sections: The first is the part exposed to the air above the sea level at high temperature. The second is the section exposed to repeated temperature fluctuation as the sea level rises and falls. The third is the part submerged at low temperature below the sea level. Aged samples were tested by using the method of electrical evaluation to obtain insulation characteristics. The experimental results show that the dielectric breakdown of the sample with temperature fluctuation was 7% lower than the sample with a constant temperature; thereby, demonstrating that the section where the temperature fluctuation occurred in the submarine cables was weaker than the other. The sections of submarine cable with temperature fluctuations are believed as a weak point during operation; therefore, this part should be monitored preferentially.

Molecular Dynamics Study on Atomistic Details of the Melting of Solid Argon

  • The atomic scale details of the melting of solid argon were monitored with the aid of molecular dynamics simulations. The potential energy distribution is substantially disturbed by an increase in the interatomic distance and the random of set distance from the lattice points, with increasing temperature. The potential energy barriers between the lattice points decrease in magnitude with the temperature. Eventually, at the melting point, these barriers can be overcome by atoms that are excited with the entropy gain acquired when the atoms obtain rotational freedom in their atomic motion, and the rotational freedom leads to the collapse of the crystal structure. Furthermore, it was found that the surface of crystals plays an important role in the melting process: the surface eliminates the barrier for the nucleation of the liquid phase and facilitates the melting process. Moreover, the atomic structure of the surface varies with increasing temperature, first via surface roughening and then, before the bulk melts, via surface melting.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microbiological quality of, and to assure the hygienic safety of, the kimbap production in the university foodservice facilities in accordance with the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Program. The time-temperature relationship and the microbiological quality (specifically, total plate count and coliform bacteria count) were assessed to find the critical control point (CCP) during each of the production phases. The average of the daily longest duration time of the kimbap at the facilities was 23.4 hours in summer, while 29.6 hours in winter. In the purchasing phase of the raw materials, the microbiological quality of laver, fish paste, carrot and cucumber in summer was not at an acceptable level according to the standard set by the Natick research center, especially the number of TPC and the coliform level of laver was higher than the threshold level. In the refrigerator storage phase, the temperature of the carrot was 7.4$^{\circ}C$. This temperature is far exceeding the standard so that the microbiological counts was increased by the 2 log cycle during the average storage time of 17 hours or more. In the preparation phase, the temperature of the blanching is too low compared to the standard. In the holding phase before serving, its time-temperature relationship was out of the FDA food code standard both in winter and summer. In the sewing phase, the number of microbiological count was higher than the threshold level in summer while that in winter was up to standard. According to the Harrigan and McCance standard, the number of microbiological count of the utensils was higher than the threshold level in summer while that in winter was up to standard.
