  • We study the equivariant Gromov-Witten theory of ℙr-1 for all r ≥ 2. We prove a polynomiality property in r of the Gromov-Witten classes of ℙr-1. Using this polynomiality property, we define a set of polynomial valued classes in $H^*({\bar{M}}_{g,n})$ which generalize the limit of Witten's s-spin classes studied by Pandharipande, Pixton and Zvonkine.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy set theory based formulation and heuristic which will allow plant layout problems to be solved for more than two input goals with different weights. The heuristic combines a construction and improvement procedure to generate a good layout from the formulation. To test the effectiveness of the heuristic, a set of examples previously used by various authors is solved and the results are compared to those from other known heuristics. The comparison indicates that the proposed method performs well for each of seventeen classical test problems.

  • In this paper, we investigate the extent of the set on which the modulus of a meromorphic function is lower bounded by a term related to some Nevanlinna Theory functionals. A. I. Shcherba estimate the size of the set on which the modulus of an entire function is lower bounded by 1. Our theorem in this paper shows that the same result holds in the case that the lower bound is replaced by$lT(r,f)$, $0{\leq}l$ < 1, which improves Shcherba's result. We also give a similar estimation for meromorphic functions.

  • The notions of a (Boolean, prime, ultra, good) hesitant fuzzy filter and a hesitant fuzzy MV -filter of an MTL-algebras are introduced, and their relations are investigated. Characterizations of a (Boolean, ultra) hesitant fuzzy filter are discussed. Conditions for a hesitant fuzzy set to be a hesitant fuzzy filter, and for a hesitant fuzzy filter to be a Boolean hesitant fuzzy filter are provided.

  • In this study, we newly formulated the link capcity allocation problem and the link capacity allocation and routing problem in an voice/data integrated network by the fuzzy set concept. We developed efficient algorithms for the above fuzzified problems and successfully showed that the fuzzy set theory is the powerful tool for the design problems in communication networks.

  • The goal of automatic speech recognition is to study techniques and systems that enable agents such that computers and robots to accept speech input. However, this paper does not provide a concrete technology in speech recognition but propose a possible mathematical tools to be employed in that area. We introduce rough set theory and suggest the possibility of the rough set approach in phonetic distinctions.

  • In this paper, we define the one-sided fuzzy set and we calculate the mean value and variance, defined by C. Carlsson and R. $Full{\acute{e}}r$, of this fuzzy set. And we obtain a result that, in some special case, the mean of the product of two fuzzy sets is the product of means of each fuzzy sets. This result can be considered as the similar result which is well-known in the independence of events in probability theory.

  • It is known that the parametric boundary equation for the main component in the Mandelbrot set represents a cardioid. We derive an epicy-cloidal boundary equation of the main component in the degree-n bifurcation set by extending the parameter which describes the cardioid in the Mandelbrot set. Computational results as well as some useful properties are presented together with the programming source codes written in Mathematica. Various boundaries are displayed for $2\leqn\leq7$7 and show a good agreement with the theory presented here. The known boundary equation enables us to significantly reduce the construction time for the degree-n bifurcation set.

  • The early phase of design intrinsically contains multiple sources of uncertainty in describing design, and nevertheless the decision-making process at this phase exerts a critical effect upon drawing a successful design. This paper proposes a set-based design approach for multi-objective design problem under uncertainty. The proposed design approach consists of four design processes including set representation, set propagation, set modification, and set narrowing. This approach enables the flexible and robust design while incorporating designer's preference structure. In contrast to existing optimization techniques, this approach generates a ranged set of design solutions that satisfy changing sets of performance requirements.
