비영어권 이용자를 위한 공공도서관 영어독서 프로그램 사례 연구 (English Reading Program of Public Libraries for Non-English Speakers)

  • 영어는 국제적 환경에서 중요한 정보 활용의 도구로 인식되고 있어 영어독서능력도 점차 중요한 정보 활용능력으로 주목받고 있다. 이 같은 변화는 공공도서관 독서 프로그램에도 영향을 미치는 요인이 되고 있어 이 연구에서는 비영어권 이용자를 대상으로 하는 영어독서지도 프로그램의 운영 역사가 긴 미국 캘리포니아 지역의 50개 공공도서관에서 운영하는 영어독서지도 프로그램의 현황과 성공사례를 분석하여 국내 도서관이 수용할 수 있는 주요 요소와 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 분석결과 중 주목할 만한 사항은 공공도서관이 평생교육측면에서 성인들의 영어독서활동을 지원하여야 하는 역할을 해야 한다는 점과 가정 내에 영어독서환경을 조성할 수 있도록 지원하여 도서관 중심의 독서활동을 가정으로 확장하여 영어독서습관을 형성할 수 있도록 지원해야 한다는 것이다. 또한 모국어 독서습관이 외국어 독서활동에도 중요한 영향을 미치고 있으므로 영어독서 프로그램의 선행과정으로 모국어 독서역량을 강화해야 하는 것도 중요한 시사점이다.

취약계층과 일반군 영유아의 건강관리 현황 및 방문건강관리사업 요구도 비교조사 (A Research on the Health Care and the Demand for Visiting Health Care Services for Vulnerable Children in Comparison with Non-vulnerable Children in a Region)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide baseline data on the health care of children and the demand for visiting health care services in one region in efforts to support the implementation of visiting health care services for vulnerable children. Methods: Seventy-three children and their caregivers from the vulnerable social group and 82 children and their caregivers from the general group were selected as research participants. The data were collected through home visiting survey by professional nurses. Results: Children from the vulnerable social group were at higher risk of poor health care than the general group. Regarding home safety, vulnerable children were more likely to be exposed to unsafe conditions. With respect to nutrition, developmental play, developmental screening test, and home safety, visiting health care services were in demand for caretakers. Conclusion: These results indicate that to promote health care and safety conditions for vulnerable children, it is necessary to implement visiting health care programs that include the management of vaccination, medical check-up, growth and development, home safety, and nutrition. These findings can be used as the baseline data for the development of visiting health care programs for vulnerable children.

다가구매입임대주택과 영구임대주택 거주자의 주거환경 및 지역사회복지서비스 이용 실태 (Housing Environmental Conditions and Usages of Community Welfare Services among Residents in 'Da-Ka-Gu' Rental Housing and Permanent Rental Apartments)

  • The purpose of this study was to gather baseline data to be used for improving housing environments and developing welfare policies for low-income groups by identifying the similarities and differences in housing environmental conditions and in the usages of community welfare services between the dwellers of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing and those of permanent rental apartment. This multifaceted diagnosis currently being undertaken can be utilized through the lowincome housing planning and welfare policies as the basis for future policy formulation. Self-administered questionnaires and interviews were carried out by 212 dwellers in Da-Ka-Gu rental housing (104) and permanent rental apartments (108) in the city of Gwangju from July to October of 2010. The main findings are as follows: 1. The dwellers living in both Da-Ka-Gu rental housing and permanent rental apartments are satisfied with their housing environment. Specifically, a higher satisfaction with transportation and a lower satisfaction with neighbor's inter-relationships were evident. The dwellers of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing appear to be more satisfied with community spaces and housing management than those of the permanent rental apartments, whereas the latter appear to be less satisfied with the noise of the housing complex than the former. 2. Of the community welfare service programs, a higher usage is shown for meals service, free health screenings, home repair, and after-school learning programs among all residents in the two housing types. In particular, for the residents of Da-Ka-Gu rental housing, the children's education and parent education programs are more popular, whereas for those of the permanent rental apartments, the housekeeping services and health services utilization are highest.

뷰티서비스 고객만족 요인의 탐색적 접근 - 헤어미용 서비스를 중심으로 - (Exploratory approach to customer satisfaction factors of beauty service - Focusing on hair beauty services -)

  • Despite accelerating market changes in the beauty service industry, there are still inadequate service education programs and a lack of objective data and research to develop systematic policies to strengthen competitiveness, thereby fostering the beauty service industry. Accordingly, this study will examine the factors that affect customer satisfaction in terms of customer touchpoints, hence uncovering what the beauty service needs to develop systematic customer service education programs. It aims to contribute to the improvement of beauty service quality by providing basic empirical data that is necessary to build service education programs and strengthen the touchpoint staffs' job competency. A total of 16 people, 8 male, and 8 female customers in their 30s and 40s, who have ever used hair shop services in the metropolitan area, and 8 male and female hair designers and owners, were interviewed during a 9week period from October 31, 2017, through December 30, 2017. The data was analyzed as follows in order to measure service quality, SERVQUAL was revised and supplemented according to the purpose of this study, and a table for customer satisfaction factors was constructed. In addition, the results of the study were derived by classifying the relations among the customer satisfaction factors with respect to the interviews. The results show that the price of hardware, the location of the store, and hair designers' ability, which are the direct components of customer satisfaction, have a great influence on the customer satisfaction considered when selecting the beauty services (hair shops). In addition, it can be seen that human services including human-ware, which are accompanying services make up a high proportion considering customer satisfaction factors.

공공부문 건강증진사업의 발전방향 (Future Directions for Health Promotion Programs in the Public Sector)

  • Objectives: This paper aims to suggest some ways we could improve the efficiency and equity in health promotion programs in the public sector. Methods: Reports published by the Minister of Health and Welfare and web-site information were reviewed. And, the empirical results and theoretical considerations provided in this study could be used in making future direction for health promotion programs in the public sector. Results and conclusion: The public sector should play a leading role in health promotion programs. The role of public sector in health promotion program is to establish the health promotion plan based on the health survey, to develop the scientific programs, to provide the free health services, and to maintain a cooperative relationship with the private sector. In order to activate the health promotion programs in the public sector, establishing the role of the public sector, changing the operation of health promotion fund, block grants for health promotion, local health promotion fund, and integration of health statistics were suggested.

미국학교도서관기준에 나타난 SLMP의 교육적 이념 (The Educational Idea Presenting In the SLMP's Standards)

  • In the modern communicative age, the standards of the school libraries are the qualitative guarantee on the services of school libraries or school library media programs, as the guidline, the active guide, the policy documentation and criteria for the professional excellence. The standards of SLMP were revised the sixth time by the school library profession(ALA) with the members or agency of NEA in the U.S. There are the first standard was a quantitative; 'the Certain Report'(by A.L.A., 1920) appearing that the school library is the heart of the school, 2nd 1925; turning up the teaching material source and personel, 'School Libraries for today and tomorrow' (by AASL, 1945) incluseing the instructional materials and the 7th educational ideas in the quantitative feature, 'Standards for School Library Programs' (by AASL, 1960) expressing the instructional material center, communicative environment, learning and teaching laboratory, 'Standards for school media programs' (by DAVI & AASL, 1969) implicating the instructional resource, learning and teaching laboratory, the condition precedent of qualitative education for excellence, 'Standards for media programs; District/school (by AASL & AECT, 1975) containing the improving user's educational experience and personal freedom on the use of SLMP's services. Through changing the standards of SLMP in the US, We have known that the main educational idea in the standards are; (1) SLMP is the instructional force and resource for qualitative, excellence education by learning and teaching laboratory, instructional resource, communicative environment (2) SLMP is the actualizing force and resource for user's self-realization by intellectual and personal excellence, individualizing, humanizing and personalizing education.

가상현실 기반 메이커 교육 프로그램 설계원리 개발 및 적용 : 시뮬레이션 앱 구현을 중심으로 (Developing and Applying Design Principles for Maker Programs Using Virtual Reality : Focusing on the Development of Simulation Application)

  • The current study aimed to develop the design principles for maker programs using virtual reality and apply them in developing a simulation mobile application. First, through collecting and analyzing the relevant studies and cases eight design principles with four components were derived. Then, these initial design components and principles were revised and improved in accordance with evaluations of an expert panel composed of three professors/researchers, two teachers, and two IT industrial experts. Based on the revised design principles, a VR simulation app for maker education was developed and evaluated on whether the principles were properly applied to the app development by the expert panel. The finalized eight design principles, as a research outcome, can contribute to the design and development of various types of educational programs that can replace the actual making experience even in educational fields where it is difficult to build maker spaces or provide materials and equipment. In the near future, empirical studies are expected to develop customized maker programs considering the characteristics, levels, and needs of students and verify their educational effectiveness.

Issues and Directions in Developing Nutrition Education for Older Adults in Korea

  • This paper presents the status of nutrition education for older adults in Korea, and examines considerations in developing effective nutrition education programs for the elderly based on literature reviews. Finally, strategies of nutrition education for older adults in Korea are examined. Status of nutrition education were examined by surveying 90 senior centers, and 46 public health centers providing nutrition services. Most senior centers(96%) provided health education programs, however, nutrition was only a part of health programs. Among the 41 public health centers which responded to the survey, 73.1% provided nutrition education for older adults. The frequently covered topics were prevention & management of hypertension/stroke, diabetes, nutritional management during later adulthood, and osteoporosis. Common barriers in planning and implementing elderly education were; lack of educational materials for older adults, reliance on lectures, difficulty in following-up. To develop effective nutrition education, four stages consisting of needs assessment, planning and implementation of programs, and evaluation should be carefully done. Needs assessment might be done using quantitative or qualitative assessment. Factors influencing nutrition behavior of older adults can be systematically examined using a theoretical approach such as the PRECEDE-PROCEED framework. Qualitative methods, such as focus group interviews, also provide insightful information regarding the needs of older adults. In planning nutrition education programs, physical and pshychological changes associated with aging should be considered. Literature regarding elderly education suggest that active participation or participatory learning is also effective for older adults. Educational materials are developed following the principle of KISS and pre-tested. Program evaluation has been rarely done in practice, although it provides valuable feedback to the program. Strategies for developing nutrition education for Korean elderly include; performing needs assessment, developing a standard program by topics in a logical and systematic way, developing programs for subgroups of elderly, applying diverse education methods developing educational materials for the elderly, evaluating programs using simple tools, and delivering a nutrition program as a part of health promotion program. Finally, the interaction and communication between researchers and practitioners is strongly recommended to ensure better nutrition education and services to the elderly.

농촌노인의 지역사회 복지서비스 이용실태 - ‘노인생활지도마을’을 대상으로 - (The Study of Community-oriented Welfare Service for the Rural Elderly - Focused on ′Villages Supported by Special Programs for the Rural Elderly′ -)

  • In Korea, as the elderly population is growing, the quality of life of the rural elderly is becoming a major concern. By the way, social welfare services is less available and accessible to the rural elderly. And we have very limited information about community -oriented welfare services for the elderly. The lack of social welfare services in rural area resulted from mainly geographic isolation and economic deprivation. So, the present research aimed at; 1) to explore what the social welfare service is benefited from governmental or local assembly. 2) to explore what kind of community services is provided for the rural village and elderly. 3) to appear the political propose for the rural elderly. In South Korea, The Rural Development Administration currently operate 'villages which is supported special programs for the improvement of QOL of rural elderly' in 110 villages. It is a model governmental welfare service for rural area. For the purpose, the survey data is gathered from community level data per village (107 villages), individual survey data(881people) who live in the village and qualitative data. Two kinds of quantitative data is combined to form a data. The statistical methods used for data analysis are descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. The major findings of this study were as follows : It was founded that the majority family type of the rural elderly is elderly-only households(75%). In case of poor elderly, they have very limited social insurance benefit and they can not get medical services with satisfaction. The result show that the welfare facilities per village and welfare service for the elderly is extremely low while the needs of welfare service is greate high. A distinctive characteristics in rural villages is that they receive a lot of services from private sectors, like as Women Farmers Union, Adult Union. They operate voluntary welfare services related to food supporting, education for the elderly, free haircut services and so on. In conclusion, the community care services from private sector has specialty in rural area. We conclude it is a distinguishing characteristic of rural community.

국가연구개발사업에 있어서 제도적 차원의 개방형 평가 시스템 모델링에 관한 연구 : 클린평가시스템을 중심으로 (Study on Open Appraisal System Modeling for Government Research and Development Program through Review of Law and Administrative Rules : Focused on Clean Appraisal System)

  • Governments around the world invest in research and development (R&D) for different purposes : national economy, defence, environment, health, etc. as a means of national survival beyond the means of national competitiveness. These are usually programs with high social impact but low short-term economic impact or large scientific programs that are too expensive and risky for private sector investment alone. The Republic of Korea has also shown a very successful model of economic progress and social development through government R&D programs. However, there have been many corruption scandals behind it while selecting awardees for government R&D programs in Korea. So, the Republic of Korea focused on reforming appraisal system for government R&D and began preparation for "Clean Appraisal System" last year. In this study, first we analyzed the related appraisal tasks through the review of laws and administrative rules and typed appraisal tasks according to the flow of the actors and time. Thus securing the information infrastructure and finally we drew the conceptual model of the system according to an open appraisal tasks by introducing an element of the OECD on open government typed appraisal tasks.
