  • Over the next decade, there are estimated to be 250 billion IoT devices in the future, and a variety of new services and device markets are expected to be created via a new network connection. However, it is difficult to accommodate various sensors and IoT devices, such as product and installation environments, for existing IP/SIP/IMS cameras and video door phone. Additionally, recently, sensors and actuators that can accommodate IoT technology and standards are continually updated. In addition, this paper has developed an SIP/IMS intelligent gateway to flexibly accommodate IoT related equipments and to interface with ZigBee/Z-Wave/NFC endpoints in addition to the gateway basic functions. This intelligent gateway will contribute to the development of the IMS system to replace the VoIP system with the IMS equipment due to the growth of the IMS market.

Convergence of Broadcasting and Communication in Home Network using E-PON based Home Gateway (EPON 기반 홈게이트웨이를 이용한 댁내 망에서의 방송통신 융합 서비스)

  • In this paper, we focus on supporting the convergence of broadcasting and communication in home network systems with E-PON based home gateway. We propose a new architecture to provide broadcasting and data services in integrated home network using overlay transport mechanism in access network and If multicast techniques of IGMP and IGMP snooping in home network. We also detail a set of mechanisms and procedures for home broadcasting service through the home gateway system. Our new scheme is composed of three parts: a) an overlay transmission model of video broadcasting signals (satellite and/or cable TV) and Internet data, b) to select a specific video broadcasting channel and to make of the selected video broadcasting stream into IP multicast packets in tuner/conversion module using multiple tuner system and c) to transfer the converted If multicast packets to L2 switch of home gateway's core module and to send them out to target port(s) by L2 multicast using IGMP snooping.

Stream-based API composition for stable API Gateway (안정적인 API 게이트웨이를 위한 스트림 기반 API 조합)

  • In the API gateway, API composition is an essential function that can reduce the number of client calls and prevent over-fetching and under-fetching. API composition that operate with IMJ (In-Memory Join) consume a lot of resources, putting a burden on the performance of the API gateway. In this paper, to improve the problem of IMJ-style API composition, we propose SAPIC (Stream-based API Composition), which delivers the data to be composed to the client by streaming. SAPIC calls each MSA API that makes up the client response data and immediately streams the received response data to the client, reducing the resource consumption of the API gateway and providing faster response time compared to IMJ. As a result of a comparison experiment with GraphQL, a representative API combination technology, SAPIC recorded a maximum CPU occupancy rate of approximately 21 to 70 % lower, a maximum heap usage rate of approximately 16 to 74 % lower, and a throughput rate that was 1 to 2.3 times higher than GraphQL.

  • Mobile Gateway(MG) is a wireless LAN device to provide internet services to a passenger on vehicles like a bus. For using internet services, MG connects the Road Side Unit AP(RSU AP) based on WLAN .To provide a stable communication service on the moving vehicle, handoff changing MG's RSU must be handled fast and stably. However, it has a physical limits to remove a disconnection time of handoff process by reason of its technological features. In this paper, we suggest a MIMG(Multi-Interface Mobile Gateway) executing seamless handoff by using multiple wireless LAN interfaces for connecting RSU. In the detailed way to do stable handoff, we suggest the "Link Sharing Technique" to disconnection time of packet transmission for RSU to MIMG and the "Path Sharing Technique" to remove disconnection time of packet transmission for MIMG to RSU. we implemented the MIMG which performs the suggested handoff technique. We confirmed the superiority of our system by remove of the disconnection time(0 ms), and improved over 50 % of the communication bandwidth.

These services need verification process through priority test to use and are changed. If test using actuality information electronic device for test, much expenses and time may be invested. Home network test bed offers softness of research using control model and simulator, in this paper, Wish to design and embody home network test bed to do environment construction of home network and test of application service. Because use istent power line just as it is without necessity to establish circuit in addition by solution of home network testbed, expense costs to be less and establishment used easy PLC. Also, propriated Wireless sensor network that use Zigbee by solution of home network testbed. Appliance check and monitor square do by Home Auto that know embodied, and embodied by Home Gateway that interlink terminals of Home Auto and out of.

  • As IoT is broadly used in many fields, the security of IoT is becoming especially important and critical issues. Security and privacy are the key issues for IoT applications, and still faced with some enormous challenges. Sensor has limited resources such as computing power, memory, battery. By means of deeply analyzing the security architecture and features in security framework. While a number of researchers have explored such security challenges and open problems in IoT, there is an unfortunate lack of a systematic study of the security challenges in the IoT landscape. This special issue features recent and emerging advances IoT architecture, protocols, services and applications. The alternative method is IoT security gateway. In this paper, we surveyed the demands and requirements. By means of deeply analyzing the security architecture and features, we analyzed the demands and requirements for security based on gateway application.

  • This paper describes on the interworking services. interworking issues and the design concepts in the Interworking System (IWS) between Pubilc Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Packet Switched Data Network (PSDN), which has been developed at the Electronics and Tedecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). As a gateway between PSTN and PSDN, IWS provides the interconnection between PSTN and PSDN. In addition to the provision of basic interconnection services (i.e. dial-in/dial-out services), IWS provides the Maintenance and Administration (M&A) services for system itself and the supplementary services such as the call barring, direct call and closed user group. The architecture of IWS is based on the multiprocessor system with single system bus. And a multiprocessor real time kernel is used to support the inter-board communication as well as the inter-process commmunications. Especially, the operation and maintenance functions of IWS are treated in detail.

  • Internet Data is hugely increased for high quality multimedia services and the related techniques is also developed rapidly. This paper is aimed to develop integrated internet data and Digital-Television receiving system with high performance and optimization, which is obtained by one-board integration with load control. It is applicable to various devices like computer, set-top box, home multimedia gateway etc. The performance is proved by evaluation test. It shows that the developed device can be TV tuner and internet AP for more robust multimedia services.

  • In this paper, we design and implement middleware service modules of MiTS system architecture which is proposed for integrated shipboard information management. The MiTS system is divided to three layers that are gateway, middleware server and application. The gateway collects and parses information and data, the middleware server integrates the data and stores to a database, and the application displays visual data to users. The service modules provide MiTS middleware services to gateways and applications. We implement the service modules based on international standard IEC61162-4 series and test those.

A Study on the Standard-interfaced Smart Farm Supporting Non-Standard Sensor and Actuator Nodes (비표준 센서 및 구동기 노드를 지원하는 표준사양 기반 스마트팜 연구)

  • There are now many different commercial weather sensors suitable for smart farms, and various smart farm devices are being developed and distributed by companies participating in the government-led smart farm expansion project. However, most do not comply with standard specifications and are therefore limited to use in smart farms. This paper proposed the connecting structure of operating non-standard node devices in smart farms following standard specifications supporting smart greenhouse. This connecting structure was proposed as both a virtual node module method and a virtual node wrapper method. In addition, the SoftFarm2.0 system was experimentally operated to analyze the performance of the implementation of the two methods. SoftFarm2.0 system complies with the standard specifications and supports non-standard smart farm devices. According to the analysis results, both methods do not significantly affect performance in the operation of the smart farm. Therefore, it would be good to select and implement the method suitable for each non-standard smart farm device considering environmental constraints such as power, space, distance of communication between the gateway and the node of the smart farm, and software openness. This will greatly contribute to the spread of smart farms by maximizing deployment cost savings.
