Design and Implementation of the Traffic and Travel Information Service for Terrestrial DMB System (T-DMB에서의 교통여행정보서비스 설계 및 구현)

  • DMB video/audio service was successfully launched. DMB data service is a matter of primary concern now. The TTI(Traffic and Travel Information) service is considered as a killer application of the data service. Tn this paper, we propose a method for design and implementation of the broadcasting system for TTI service. The proposed TTI service system consists of an authoring tool, the DB module, the Transmission module and Monitoring module. This system satisfies the national TTA standards of the Traffic and Travel Information data services for terrestrial DMB; TPEG(Transport Protocol Experts Group) platform. The system was designed to support real-time automatic transmission for CTT and CTT SUM, and non real-time authoring & automatic transmission for POI and SDI, and was focused on the capability to make high-quality contents efficiently and to send them to the data inserter reliably. The performance of the implemented system was proven through the conformance tests with the various commercial receivers. After the continuous upgrade, the system is being used in commercial service.

ADONIS: A Service Design and Certification Management Tool for Certification of Software Development Process in International Standard Organization (국제표준기국의 SW 개발 공정 인증을 위한 서비스 설계 및 인증 관리 도구: ADONIS)

  • In the perspective of service, it is important to institute certification process required by International Standard Organization (ISO) for software (SW) development process, since Information and Communication Technology (ICT) takes high portion of the Korean industry and its certification for SW is essential internationally for trade. In addition, the certification service provided by BPMN tools like ADONIS is absolutely necessary. In that perspective, this paper proposes a new approach to satisfy this kind of necessity. This approach provides the certification service for the safety of SW required at the international level in Korean industry. Furthermore, the approach can be applied to other domains beside the SW. In order to demonstrate the approach, this paper shows how to guarantee service design for certification of ECSS-E-40 of European Space Agency (ESA) with ADONIS. This paper focuses on specification and verification of SW in E-40, and the main requirement for the verification will be safety of the SW.

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate a usability of using fashion and beauty service and suggest better user experience on Instagram's newly released mobile video platform, IGTV. The study expects to be a resource of improving the usability on fashion and beauty contents on IGTV and encourage further research for suggesting better guidelines. As a research method, it will experiment current mobile video service first with literature review. Afterwards, the research conducted tasks and in-depth interview with eight Instagram users to evaluate a usability of using fashion and beauty service on IGTV. As a result, it is able to derive two plans that needed improvement. Firstly, IGTV is required to have high accessibility for user's to use service longer and intuitive user experience. Secondly, unlike previous service that Instagram have offered, IGTV need to differentiate to share and get information of fashion and beauty trends.

  • Despite high cost, the underground power distribution system has been preferred by utilities and customers due to its stability and good living environment. Utilities, however, are burdened with the cost of installation as the service region of underground power system is getting enlarged. In this paper, a design method is proposed in order to reduce the construction cost of underground distribution system. That is an optimum algorithm, which can increase the total number of pipes in a limited space compared with a conventional design method. As a result, the proposed design method can reduce efficiently the construction cost of underground distribution system.

A system design for hotel reservation of the on-line travel agency using an opaque product (불명확 제품을 활용한 온라인 여행사의 호텔 예약 체계 설계)

  • Purpose: There are lots of efforts to increase the revenue of on-line travel agency due to the extreme competition in the hospitality industry. One of the way to improve the revenue is applying new concepted service for their business. In this study, it is introduced an innovative system design of hotel reservation for the on-line travel agency using the concept of an opaque product. Methods: By adopting the opaque product at the hotel reservation system, the reservation requests can increase because the customer tends to feel that they purchase the hotel service with relatively cheap price. The overall process for an innovative hotel reservation system is presented and the core algorithm to implement this system is also suggested through a mathematical model based optimization method. Results: To validate and to examine the proposed process and core algorithm, a numerical example is provided with the modified data of the hotels in Seoul metropolitan city. The discount prices and the overall revenue of hotels are generated according to hotel grade. Conclusion: It is confirmed that the revenue of the hotel tends to increase according to its grade. This is because that the customer want to use the new service which applying the concept of opaque product when the higher discount ratio are decided for lower grade hotels.

  • Recently, Performance Based Design (PBD) method has been studied as a next generation structural design method, which enables a designed structure to satisfy the required performance during its service life. One method of deciding whether the required performance has been satisfied is Bayesian method, which has been commonly used in seismic analysis. Generally, it is presented as a conditional probability of exceeding some limit state (i.e., collapse) for a given ground motion. In PBD of concrete mixture design, the same methodology can be applied to assess concrete material performance based on some conditional parameters (i.e. strength, workability, carbonation, etc). In this paper, a detailed explanation of the procedure of drawing satisfaction curve by using Bayesian method based on various material parameters is shown. Also, a discussion of using the developed satisfaction curves for PBD for concrete mixture design is presented.

Dynamic Service Binding Method for Device-to-Device(D2D) Communication Based Cooperative Services (단말 간 직접 통신(D2D) 기반 협력 서비스를 위한 동적 서비스 바인딩 기법)

  • In recent years, various services in mobile environments due to the growth of mobile devices and related techniques like wireless networks. Furthermore, as the increasing communication traffic in cellular networks has become a new significant issue, many studies for device-to-device(D2D) communication and D2D-based cooperative services have been performed recently. In this paper, we design a smart agent system for D2D-based cooperative services and propose a dynamic service binding method based on service ontology. We classify roles of mobile devices for cooperative services by defining three types of smart agents, and construct a knowledge base in order to describe properties of 'service' unit. The proposed knowledge model, D2D cooperative service ontology, can enable a autonomous cooperative services between mobile devices by binding a requested service to the appropriate member device according to the real-time context in mobile environments.

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis how perceived beauty service quality, perceived value influenced on purchase intention of customers. Moreover, this study was suggested strategic solutions for beauty managers and employees to build efficient marketing strategies in order to maximize customer satisfaction. For research method, SPSS 12.0 program was used and for the accuracy of precision of a measuring instrument reliability test was applied. And then simple and multiple regression analysis were performed to examine the effects of independent variables to dependent variables to dependant variables. The results of this study were five folds: the higher perceived service quality of beauty service was, the higher perceived value, satisfaction, word-of-mouth, and intention of revisiting were; the higher perceived value was, the better satisfaction, word-of-mouth, and intention of revisiting were; technical service quality was single most important factor affecting influence on perceived value, satisfaction, word of mouth, intention of revisiting, and functional service quality and physical service quality were listed second and third.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of organizational politics on employees' social network service addiction and how it influences their job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. And this study explores if leader-member exchange can moderate the relationship between organizational politics and social network service addiction. Research, design, data, and methodology - For this, this study collected data from 305 employees in Korean companies through a survey method and uses SPSS 18.0 for hierarchical regression analysis in the hypothesis test. Results - First, organizational politics increases immersion, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction. Second, each phenomena of social network service addiction such as salience, compulsion and association decrease each relevant factors of job satisfaction and organizational citizen behavior. Third, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction play the mediating roles between organizational politics and each relevant factors of job satisfaction/organizational citizen behavior. Finally, some of sub-factors of leader-member exchange decrease the effect of each characteristics of organizational politics on immersion, compulsion and association among the sub-factors of social network service addiction. Conclusions - This study provides some of managerial implications to corporate executives who try to manage organizational attitude.

A Study on the Determinants of Medical Institution's Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty: Focused on the Effects of Service Quality Factors

  • Objective: The objective of this study is to provide medical institutions with theoretical basis by analyzing the effect of service quality-related factors. It will be helpful for hospitals to enhance service quality which will be of use to attain customer satisfaction and ultimately competitive advantage. Design: An empirical study. Methods: To verify the model, I conducted a questionnaire survey analysis. Items for measurement have been extracted from several related studies on medical industry. The survey target has been set by convenience sampling method and consists of citizens reside in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province, and total number of 161 samples have been analyzed. To verify validity and reliability, I conducted factor analysis and reliability analysis, and for hypotheses verification, multiple regression analyses have been performed. Results: This study aims to investigate the relation between service quality factors and customer satisfaction, and also those factors and customer loyalty. Service quality factors consist of Tangibles(X1), Reliability(X2), Assurance(X3), Responsiveness(X4), and Empathy(X5). According to the results of regression analyses, X1, X2, X3, and X5 have been proved to have positive relations with customer satisfaction and loyalty, whereas hypothesis related X4 has not been supported. Finally, customer satisfaction has been founded to affects positively to customer loyalty. Conclusions: Service quality factors are significantly related to customer satisfaction and loyalty. So medical institutions should aware of this and try to enhance service quality for attaining competitive advantage.
