For efficiently providing multimedia services, distributed computing environments are specified the requirements of various services and distributed object platforms applied an object-oriented technology by TINA Consortium and OMG CORBA. Because multimedia service applications are becoming large and distributing, their servicing managing interfaces among objects are being complicated. In order to solve these defects, it is necessary to suggest a new object grouping model and specify object service/management requirements can be introduced under the object groups. We have been developed the distributed object group platform that can group all individual objects by the relating services and can supply trading functions for interconnecting between distributed objects or object groups. In this paper, we designed and implemented the Virtual Drawing Board for remote equational services on the distributed object group platform we mentioned above. As results, we designed a basic structure and service interfaces, and showed execution procedures of VDB system consisted of distributed objects and objects groups for educational services. For supporting distributed services of VDB system, we used three kinds of tools as follows; IONA orbix 2.2 of CORBA compliance as an object middleware, OrbixTrader 1.0 for interconnection of distributed objects, and the OGTG we developed for interconnection of distributed object groups and checking access rights of objects included in an arbitrary object group.

This study aims to investigate a framework for linkage of national research performance evaluation and research information service from the perspective of metadata representation and exchange. Based on results of the functional requirements for metadata of national research performance evaluation are derived, this study suggests strategies for the application of international metadata standards. Also, this study presents an method to implement the metadata of research performance evaluation based on OAI-ORE, which is an international standard that can reuse and exchange the research information on web architecture.

In this study, a model to optimize residual chlorine concentrations in a water supply system was developed using a multi-objective genetic algorithm. Moreover, to quantify the effects of optimized residual chlorine concentration management and to consider customer service requirements, this study developed indices to quantify the spatial and temporal distributions of residual chlorine concentration. Based on the results, the most economical operational method to manage booster chlorination was derived, which would supply water that satisfies the service level required by consumers, as well as the cost-effectiveness and operation requirements relevant to the service providers. A simulation model was then created based on an actual water supply system (i.e., the Multi-regional Water Supply W in Korea). Simulated optimizations were successful, evidencing that it is possible to meet the residual chlorine concentration demanded by consumers at a low cost.

This paper proposed a workflow enactment model to provide process management functions for the next generation Internet service environment such as Web Service and Grid Computing. The existing enterprise workflow enactment models could not meet the scalability and reliability requirements for aforementioned environments. To satisfy these requirements, this study addressed on applying P2P model to the workflow enactment model. Mathematical description and proof were employed to show the recovery based on set theory and we also showed performance enhancement through simulations, which demonstrated a comprehensive result giving more than 100 times fast response time than the existing centralized model on the same resources.

In order to maximize the throughput and provide the fairness between users in MIMO-OFDM system, FATM(fairness-aware throughput maximization) scheduling algorithm was proposed. In this paper, a QoS-aware scheduling algorithms for MINO-OFDM system are proposed, each of which is based on FATM. These scheduling algorithms aim to satisfy the different service requirements of various service classes. Three proposed QoS scheduling algorithms called SPQ (Strict Priority Queueing), DCBQ (Delay Constraint Based Queuing), HDCBQ (Hybrid Delay Constraint Based Queuing) are compared through computer simulations. It is shown that HDCBQ algorithm outperforms other algorithms in satisfying different requirements of various service classes.

IMPP service has been a promising technology as Internet grows fast and the requirements are increasing. IETF standardize requirements, model and data format for IMPP service via IMPP WG and SIMPLE WG. In this paper, we analysis SIMPLE WG in IETF and design consideration of XCAP server for IMPP services based on SIP.

In these days, providing flexible and personalized network services subject to customers' requirements becomes an interesting issue for network service providers. Moreover, because each network service provider own finite network resources and infrastructure, dynamic network provisioning is essential to leverage the limited network resources efficiently and effectively for supporting personalized network services. Recently, as the population of mobile devices increases, the location-awareness becomes as important as the QoS-awareness to provision a network service dynamically. In this paper, we propose a framework for providing location-aware dynamic network services. This framework includes the web user interface for obtaining customers' requirements such as locations and QoS, the network generator for mapping the requested locations and network infrastructure, the network path calculator for selecting routes to meet the requested QoS and the network controller for deploying a prepared network services into SDN(Software-Defined Networking) enabled network infrastructure.

In the EPC(Engineering Procurement and Construction) project of the plant, procurement engineering has a profound effect on the profitability of the project. It is important that the procurement specifications are well written to ensure that procurement engineering works properly. In the meantime, the procurement specifications have been created by the experience of the person in charge because there was no system for helping procurement engineering. To cope with this situation, we are developing a procurement engineering management support system (PeMSS). This paper describes how to implement a knowledge-based service in the procurement engineering management support system. First, we briefly introduce the PeMSS, the knowledge base application field, and how to apply it. The parts that requires knowledge-based service are parsing the requirements in the PDF (Portable Document Format) file and management of the document provided by the supplier of the equipment.

IPTV has been launched to provide a simple convergence service with broadcast and communication, and now it is evolving to support personalized service capabilities according to user's requirements. The paper presents DSON architecture and its control model to provide personalized features and user centric capability in IPTV services over service overlay network. Furthermore, the paper introduces DSON based service models on community IPTV and home IPTV service model.

An important aspects of power system design involves consideration of service reliability requirements of load to be supplied and service reliability provided by any proposed system. This paper shows the investigation of the 1984 KEPCO service reliability to the large electric consumer whose contracted maximum demand is over 500 kw. 68 customers of the total 111 investigated are located in Myungdong area and Yuido in Seoul. Of the customers are included hotel Lotte, Giobo and Seoul national University Hospital. The average service reliability of Myungdong area customers is 316min/yr/customer and about 7 times/yr/customer, and 160 min, 6 times for Yuido. Which the service reliability the interruption and the interruption frequency which caused by the customers receiving facilities were showed. The investigation is telling that the service reliability of the underground distribution area are very superior to the other area reliability. The investigated reliability seem not appropriate to be improved by change of distribution System as well as equipments and facilities improvement in the near future.
