Objective : Since less invasive endovascular treatment was introduced to South Korea in 1994, a considerable proportion of endovascular treatments have been performed by neuroradiology doctors, and endovascular treatments by vascular neurosurgeons have recently increased. However, few specific statistics are known regarding how many endovascular treatments are performed by neurosurgeons. Thus, authors compared endovascular treatments collaboratively performed by vascular neurosurgeons with all cases throughout South Korea from 2013 to 2017 to elucidate the role of neurosurgeons in the field of endovascular treatment in South Korea. Methods : The Society of Korean Endovascular Neurosurgeons (SKEN) has issued annual reports every year since 2014. These reports cover statistics on endovascular treatments collaboratively or individually performed by SKEN members from 2013 to 2017. The data was requested and collected from vascular neurosurgeons in various hospitals. The study involved 77 hospitals in its first year, and 100 in its last. National statistics on endovascular treatment from all over South Korea were obtained from the Healthcare Bigdata Hub website of the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service based on the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) codes (in the case of intra-arterial (IA) thrombolysis, however, statistics were based on a combination of the EDI and I63 codes, a cerebral infarction disease code) from 2013 to 2017. These two data sets were directly compared and the ratios were obtained. Results : Regionally, during the entire study period, endovascular treatments by SKEN members were most common in Gyeonggido, followed by Seoul and Busan. Among the endovascular treatments, conventional cerebral angiography was the most common, followed by cerebral aneurysmal coiling, endovascular treatments for ischemic stroke, and finally endovascular treatments for vascular malformation and tumor embolization. The number of endovascular treatments performed by SKEN members increased every year. Conclusion : The SKEN members have been responsible for the major role of endovascular treatments in South Korea for the recent 5 years. This was achieved through the perseverance of senior members who started out in the midst of hardship, the establishment of standards for the training/certification of endovascular neurosurgery, and the enthusiasm of current SKEN members who followed. To provide better treatment to patients, we will have to make further progress in SKEN.

This study compared and analyzed the levels of expectations of specialized hospitals, and the recognition of professional competency in specialized hospitals for the general public aged 20 years or older and those professionals on the hospital staffs who had more than three years of experience. The research period ran from July 2018 to May 2019. T-test and regression analysis were used for the analysis of the data. Research result; There was no difference in the level of expectations for the specialized hospitals between the general public and the hospital staffs. It was shown that the professional factor affecting subjective expectations of the specialized hospitals was a difference in the way of thinking between the general public and the hospital staff. The professional factor affecting the expected level of hospital use for the general public and hospital staffs was confidence in the doctors. However, the professional factors affecting the credibility of doctors differed between the general public and the hospital staff. The factor for the general public was excellent technical skill in the field, and the factor for the hospital staff was the specialized ability of doctor and their years of medical service. It is thought that efforts are needed to reduce the difference between the perception of hospital staff and that of the general public in order for specialized hospitals to continue to develop.

The urban-rural complex area in Korea has a distinctive spatial structure where the urban area and rural area coexist. Therefore, in order to cope with the over-depopulation in the rural region of the urban-rural complex area, it is necessary to explore various policies that can prevent the existing residents from leaving, and in fact support them to remain where they currently reside. In this context, this current study analyzed the factors affecting the existing residents' continuous intention to remain by employing the '2017 Chuncheon City Social Survey' as a countermeasure for the over-depopulation of the rural region in the urban-rural complex area. Especially, since a regional identity is determined endogenously, this study used a simultaneous bivariate ordered probit model with giving consideration to the endogenous relationship between a regional identity and a regional residents' intentions. As a result, it was found on analysis that the regional residential intention was higher as the regional identity was stronger. Furthermore, the regional identity was stronger as a householders' age and residence period were longer, and also as the residents were satisfied with their work leisure and life residence balance. It was also found that the residents' intention was higher as the residents' satisfaction with the local medical service and their work was increased. Thus, supporting policy is needed that can provide appropriate quality-of-life services in a timely manner, but only after identifying the demand for these services by the rural residents in the urban-rural complex area.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze how purpura and vasculitis have been treated with Korean medicine and potentially to present with future direction of research and treatment. Methods : We searched clinical studies from the Korean databases including Oriental medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System(OASIS), Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal(KTKP), National Discovery for Science Leader(NDSL), Research Information Sharing Service(RISS), using keywords related to "Purpura" and "Vasculitis" from January 2000 to May 2019. Results : A total of 20 studies were selected for analysis. More than half of the patients provided with detailed information were under 19 year-olds, and upper respiratory infection, stress and fatigue, seasonal factor were among the most frequently stated as predisposing factors. Among many treatment modalities, herbal medicine was the most frequently used, followed by acupuncture and herbal acupuncture. 23 basic herbal medicine formulas were retrieved from 20 articles, most frequently used being Guibi-tang(歸脾湯加味), Samul-tang(四物湯加味) and Yukmijihwang-tang(六味地黃湯加味). In total, 122 Korean medicine herbs were used, most frequently used herbs being Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma(甘草), Angelicae Gigantis Radix(當歸), Poria Sclerotium(茯?) and Paeoniae Radix(芍藥). By its category, herbs were mostly classified into Tonyfying and replenishing medicinal(補益藥), Heat-clearing medicinal(淸熱藥) and Exterior-releasing medicinal(解表藥). Patients with total treatment period of 3 months or under were 2/3 of all cases provided with detailed information. Follow up periods were short in general with only 6 cases of over 6 months. The primary motive of patients to receive Korean medicine treatments was unresponsiveness or adverse effects of western medication. Conclusion : Through this literature review, we could find out tendencies of Korean medicine treatments of purpura and vasculitis up to date and some points that may have clinical significance.

This study has empirically analyzed how far corporate governance and CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) fit are related based on prior research indicating that corporate governance is one of the primary factors. Previous research suggested that there may be different types of CSR fit, but there have been only limited number of empirical studies. This study filled this gap by categorizing CSR fit into three types (functional fit, target fit, and size fit) and investigating whether different types have different effects. We used data from the Corporate Social Responsibility White Paper for the 2009-2012 period, as well as the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) index. As a result, we found that there is a negative (-) relationship between corporate governance and CSR fit(${\beta}=-.023$, p<.05). This can be interpreted that companies with weak corporate governance are attempting to increase the trust level of stakeholders and to reduce the uncertainty of CSR through high-CSR-fitted programs. The test results showed that functional fit and target fit both had negative (-) relationships with corporate governance (${\beta}=-.021$, p<.05; ${\beta}=-.016$, p<.1), while size fit did not have a significant correlation with corporate governance (${\beta}=-.005$, p=.511). The results of this study supported the previous studies' suggestions that CSR fit has different effects on each type, indicating a need for further reflection on the relationship between corporate governance and CSR fit. Also, the results of this study showed that corporations should take a strategic approach to operating CSR fit.

Venture capitalists (VCs) play an important role in finding and growing innovative venture companies with high growth potential but high risk. Venture capital investment does not depend on the system, unlike the investment for listed companies. Korea's venture capital industry has entered a period of growth, but lack of data has led to a lack of research on venture capital. Based on this background, this study attempts to analyze various factors affecting investment decision criteria of Korea VCs. In this study, I examined the major factors that VCs consider in decision making of investment through literature review, and I have drawn the research question accordingly. I will focus on the characteristics of founders, products / services, markets, financials, and networks that scholars share common investment decision criteria in Korean VCs. For the purpose of this study, the data were collected through the questionnaire surveyed by investment vetters working in current venture capital and analyzed using AHP analysis. Through this study, I tried to understand the Korean venture capital which has been poorly studied and what criteria and priorities Korean VCs make investment decisions in the Korean venture investment environment. The results of this research will contribute to the vitalization of venture investment, which is important for the upbringing of companies, by providing guidelines for establishing investment attraction strategies of venture companies.
This study analyzed the hazard of unemployment and the influencing factors on the rate. Data came from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED), 2010-2012, which is a longitudinal survey for 5,092 disabled people in Korea. For the main purpose of this study, the life-table method was used for describing the patterns of unemployment duration by disabled, and the cox proportional hazard model was used to identify significant factors on the unemployment duration. The results were as follows. First, according to the life table analysis, the unemployment rate to remain until the longest period of unemployment(25month) is 90.5%, and the rate of entry into the labor market was only 9.5%. Overall, the unemployment maintenance rate was high, the unemployment escape rate decreased after 12month. Second, looking at the results from the cox proportional hazards model, the unemployment escape possibility were increased for those who are male, are non-public benefit recipient with disability, have mild disability, and have less discrimination experiences. With these results, disability discrimination act which can reduce the disability discrimination in employment site should be strengthened. Also, the scheme of Nation Basic Protection Program should be modified to attract the employment of recipients with disability. Finally, policy targets having employment escape difficulty, such as women with disability, people with severe disabilities should be departmentalized. And employment service is provided in accord with the individual needs and characteristics.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of distribution justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice which are the sub-factors of organizational justice on organizational commitment and turnover intention, so as to enhance the quality of childcare and identify the importance of organizational justice. Methods: For the study, the data were collected by measuring the organizational justice, organizational commitment, and turnover intention of 251 teachers working in home day care centers in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and then Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient and regression analysis (stepwise) were conducted. Results: The results are as follows. First, organizational commitment was significantly different in the age in terms of the general background of daily care teachers, as well as the period of service of their current organization, and the turnover intention showed a significant correlation with their salary. Second, the sub-factors of organizational justice and organizational commitment were positively correlated, but turnover intention was negatively correlated. Among them, in terms of organizational commitment, procedural justice and turnover intention were highly correlated with distribution justice. Third, the relative impact of the sub-factors of organizational justice on organizational commitment was high in procedural justice and distribution justice. The relative influence on turnover intention was high in distribution justice and interactional justice. Conclusion/Implications: Therefore, the results of this study indicate that organizational justice is a influential variable on organizational commitment and turnover intention, and suggest that it needs to make efforts to strengthen organizational justice for the operation of home daycare centers.

The number of deaths in Korea is higher than the OECD average. Therefore, an e-Call system is being developed as a vehicle ICT-based emergency rescue system that automatically detects an accident in the event of a vehicle accident and transmits related information to the center. In order to overcome the limitations of social acceptability and function of e-Call system, we propose a model that allows users to be aware of the necessity of service voluntarily. We predicted the market share of e-call services according to the proposed business model and analyzed it through B/C analysis. Benefits are calculated on a penetration basis, and device purchase and communications costs are calculated for each period. B/C analysis shows that pessimistic scenarios are 0.98 in 2025 and 1.01 in 2030. In an optimistic scenario, it is 1.05 in 2025 and 1.20 in 2030, which is more economical.
This article analyzes causal relationships among gross domestic product(GDP), electricity consumption, carbon dioxide($CO_2$) emission and foreign direct investments(FDI) inflow of Korea over the period from 1976 to 2014, using unit root test, cointegration test, and vector error correction model(VECM). As the results, this article found (1) a long-run bi-directional causality between GDP and electricity consumption, which may imply a negative impact of electricity consumption-saving policy on economic growth, (2) uni-directional short- and long-run causalities running from $CO_2$ emission to GDP, and a uni-directional long-run causality running from $CO_2$ emission to electricity consumption, which can result in a negative impact of $CO_2$ emission reduction policy on economic growth and electricity consumption, (3) a uni-directional long-run causality running from FDI to GDP, and uni-directional short- and long-run causalities running from FDI to electricity consumption, which may result from relatively lower electricity prices than investing countries, (4) no causality between FDI and $CO_2$ emission, which is based on the characteristics of FDI composed of service industries. Considering the above causal relationships among the four variables, the policy implication needs to focus on the electricity demand management based on the relevant R&Ds, and on the gradual transition from fossil fuel- to renewable-energy. Adaptive policy to increase the FDI inflow is also needed.
