This paper presents a hybrid winding connection method for torque characteristics improving of a traction SRM. In order to get a high torque in wide speed range and torque ripple reduction, series and parallel winding connection are changed according to operating speed. From the analysis of torque character operation mode and efficiency, the proposed control scheme is verified.

The Author researched and published its results on how effectively the arcs suppressed when the contactors are opened at current zero point which indispensively exsists in AC circuits. In order to increase the effectiveness of suppressing the arcs in larger current, the author suggests a new suppressing method using auxiliary contactor which contains resistance which is connected in parallel with main contactor. The author's firm belief is that the arcs are suppressed remarkably, but there are several problems, especially how to determine the optimal resistance connected in series with auxiliary contactor.

Three switched-capacitor(SC) networks are presented including series-parallel capacitor set, reversed-switched-capacitor network and push-pull switched-capacitor network, the performances of which are discussed. Combining the SC networks with traditional DC-DC converters, we form several new topologies. Experiment and analyzed results show that the behavior of a DC-DC converter with large voltage ratio can be improved. A wider voltage conversion range is also obtained.

This paper proposes the application of coreless PCB transformer to Half-Bridge (HB), Zero-voltage-Switched (ZVS) DC/DC converter for FPL lamp with electronic ballast in vehicle. The designed 5 coreless PCB transformers for ballast driving voltage are parallel-connected in primary windings and series-connected in secondary windings. Coreless PCB transformer is designed to have spiral winding in order to transfer higher energy. The computer simulations of the proposed power circuit show coreless PCB transformer to have good performance.

The power loss due to PV module mismatch in PV array system is analyzed and a mismatch compensation method is proposed. A dc-dc converter is used to compensate for series mismatch caused by a low current module in a string. The converter is controlled to maximize the array power output. The proposed compensation method was verified by PSpice simulation.

This paper presents a new analytic approach using tetrahedrons to determine the forward kinematics of the 3-6-type Stewart platform. By using of the tetrahedral geometry, this approach has the advantage of greatly reducing the complexity of formulation and the computational burden required by the conventional methods which have been solved the forward kinematics with three unknown angles. As a result, this approach allows a significant abbreviation in the formulations and provides an easier means of obtaining the solutions. The proposed method is well verified through a series of numerical simulation.

For a series or parallel system, though the component lifetimes have the absolutely continuous bivariate exponential distributions(ACBVE) by Block and Basu(1974), the common assumption that the component lifetimes are independent is used. The purpose of this paper, in this case, is to investigate the magnitude of the error caused by erroneous assumption, using the measure proposed by Klein and Moeschberger(1986). Estimation of the measure is conducted by maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) and those estimators are compared with corresponding jackknifed MLE through the Monte Carlo study.

In this paper, we propose the Bayes estimators of the reliability for a system consisting of the left-truncated exponential components under the truncated normal distribution as a conjugate prior distribution and squared - error loss function on the series, parallel and k-out-of-m : G system. And we compare the proposed Bayes estimators of the system reliability each other in terms of MSE performances and stabilities by the Monte Carlo simulation.
