There are no turn-on losses in the series Resonant Converter which operates above the resonance frequency, and the commutation stress on the switched component is low. For a given Series Resonant Converter with specified load resistance, the output voltage is a function of the operation frequency. This paper describes the static and dynamic characteristic analysis of the Series Resonant DC to DC Converter, which is operating above the resonant frequency, with frequency control. For the analysis method, state plane technique is adopted, and the circuit operation is defined from normalized switching frequency, Fsn. Under this condition, circuit performance is analyzed ideally. The validity of the proposed analysis is verified by comparing with experimental results, the stability of the converter is confirmed against small variations around the operating point by conventional frequency domain analysis, and the stress quantity added to switch component is shown.
In this paper, bi-directional DC/DC converter using a LC series resonant converter is proposed. A proposed converter is consisted by adding LC series resonant tank into a conventional bi-directional DC/DC converter and performs soft-switching at both boost and buck mode. A LC series resonance occurs in whole operation mode and switching point is determined by specific condition. Through the theoretical analysis and simulation results, operation modes and characteristics of the proposed topology is verified.

Many sorts of image processing software facilitate image editing and also generate a great number of doctored images. Forensic technology emerges to detect the unintentional or malicious image operations. Most of forensic methods focus on the detection of single operations. However, a series of operations may be used to sequentially manipulate an image, which makes the operation detection problem complex. Forensic investigators always want to know as much exhaustive information about a suspicious image's entire processing history as possible. The detection of the operation chain, consisting of a series of operations, is a significant and challenging problem in the research field of forensics. In this paper, based on the histogram distribution uniformity of a manipulated image, we propose an operation chain detection scheme to identify histogram equalization (HE) followed by the dither-like operation (DLO). Two histogram features and a local spatial feature are utilized to further determine which DLO may have been applied. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results verify the effectiveness of our proposed scheme for both global and local scenarios.
This paper proposes a novel UPFE based on H-bridge modules, isolated through single-phase multi-winding transformers. The dynamic performance of proposed system was analyzed by simulation with EMTDC, assuming that the UPFC is connected with the 138-kV transmission line of one-machine-infinite-bus power system. The proposed system can be directly connected to the transmission line without series injection transformers. It has flexibility in expanding the operation voltage by increasing the number of H-bridge modules.
Generally, Capacitor charging power supply (CCPS) consist of the full-bridge inverter, LC resonant tank and capacitance load. The multi-connection systems are normally used for high voltage or high power application. In this paper, conventional parallel operation resonant type and proposed series operation PWM type CCPS for pulse corona occurrence of DeSOx, DeNOx system using magnetic pulse compressor make a comparison. The effect of proposed CCPS is verified by circuit characteristics analysis of parallel operation resonant type and series operation PWM type, and it is confirmed by simulation result.
This paper proposes an analysis and operation strategy of a grid-connected wind turbine system using a diode rectifier. The currents of generators are the same as that of a small wind turbine system. Therefore, the analysis of generator torque is required as opposed to an analysis of blade speed. In this paper, the appropriate MPPT control method is proposed to control generator torque. Usefulness of the proposed operation strategy is verified by simulations and experiments.
In this paper, the parallel operation of the IGBT and power stack for easy capacity enlargement series in the medium power capacity inverter system of the 660V voltage class is described. The parallel operation of the IGBT and power stack for 1.5MVA medium power inverter system's design is applied. The results of the parallel operation are described in this paper. The designed stack capacity for parallel operation is 800kVA class. For 1.5MVA inverter system, the 800kVA stack is applied with 2 parallel configurations. The 800kVA stack is designed with 3 parallel configurations of the IGBT Module. In this paper, the feasibility for easy capacity enlargement series in the medium power inverter by applying the parallel operation of the IGBT and power stack is verified. The experimental results show the good characteristics for the parallel operation of the IGBT and power stack.
In this paper new control strategy of series resonant converter system for control power supply is suggested. Frequency controlled series resonant converter system is robust to load variations because it is POSR(parallel output series resonant) type. And it provides stable output voltage by changing switching frequency to input voltage variations. Firstly, operation analysis about suggested series resonant converter system was carried. Then simulations using ACSL(Advanced Continuous Simulation Language) and experiments to actual system were carried to prove characteristics of suggested system.
This study investigates the structure and operation of the ITER VS converter and proposes a sequence control method for six series-connected VS converters to reduce reactive power. The operation and the proposed sequence control method are verified through RTDS simulation. The ITER VS converter must supply voltage/current to the superconducting magnets for plasma current vertical stabilization, and the four-quadrant operation must proceed without a zero-current discontinuous section. The operation mode of the VS converter is separated into a 12- and 6-pulse circulating current and transition modes according to the size of the load current. The output voltage of the unit VS converter is limited because of the rated voltage; however, the superconducting coil must increase the operating output voltage. Thus, the VS converter must be connected in a 6-series to provide the required operating output voltage. The output voltage of the VS converters is controlled continuously; however, reactive power is limited within a minimized value of the grid. In this study, the unit converter is compared with converters connected in a 6-series to determine a suitable sequence control method. The output voltage is the same in all cases, but the maximum reactive power is reduced from 100% to 73%. This sequence control method is verified through RTDS simulation.
High-speed rail (HSR) has been in operation and development in many countries worldwide. The explosive growth of HSR has posed great challenges for operation safety and ride comfort. Among various technological demands on high-speed trains, vibration is an inevitable problem caused by rail/wheel imperfections, vehicle dynamics, and aerodynamic instability. Ride comfort is a key factor in evaluating the operational performance of high-speed trains. In this study, online monitoring data have been acquired from an in-service high-speed train for condition assessment. The measured dynamic response signals at the floor level of a train cabin are processed by the Sperling operator, in which the ride comfort index sequence is used to identify the train's operation condition. In addition, a novel technique that incorporates salient features of Bayesian inference and time series analysis is proposed for outlier detection and change detection. The Bayesian forecasting approach enables the prediction of conditional probabilities. By integrating the Bayesian forecasting approach with time series analysis, one-step forecasting probability density functions (PDFs) can be obtained before proceeding to the next observation. The change detection is conducted by comparing the current model and the alternative model (whose mean value is shifted by a prescribed offset) to determine which one can well fit the actual observation. When the comparison results indicate that the alternative model performs better, then a potential change is detected. If the current observation is a potential outlier or change, Bayes factor and cumulative Bayes factor are derived for further identification. A significant change, if identified, implies that there is a great alteration in the train operation performance due to defects. In this study, two illustrative cases are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method for condition assessment of high-speed trains.
