Analysis and Design of Half-Bridge Resonant Converter for Non-Contact Battery Charger (비접촉식 배터리 충전 장치용 Half-Bridge 직렬 공진 컨버터 분석 및 설계)

  • A non-contact battery charger for cellular phone is designed using half-bridge series resonant converter. This converter utilizes series resonance to reduce the undesirable effect of large leakage inductance of the detachable transformer and ZVS operation can reduce switching loss and switching noise. In this paper, analysis and design procedure of half-bridge series resonant converter with detachable transformer is presented. The input voltage is 85VAC∼270VAC, and the output voltage and current is 4.1V and 800mA, respectively. Furthermore, a method of calculating the secondary current of the transformer to control the battery charging current in the constant current charging mode is proposed. The performance of the charger is verified through experiments.

  • In this paper, The control problem for a series DC motor is considered to adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode control scheme. Based on a nonlinear mathematical model of a series connected DC motor, instead of the combination of a nonlinear transformation and state feedback(feedback linearization) reduces the nonlinear control design. To demonstrate its effectiveness, an experimental study of this controller is presented. Two sets of fuzzy rule bases are utilized to represent the equivalent control input with unknown system functions of the main target. The membership functions of the THEN-part, which is used to construct a suitable equivalent control of SMC, are changed according to the adaptive law. With such a design scheme, we not only maintain the distribution of membership functions over state space but also reduce computing time considerably.

  • In this paper, we design and implement a partial denoising boundary matching system using indexing techniques. Converting boundary images to time-series makes it feasible to perform a fast search using indexes even on a very large image database. Thus, using this converting method we develop a client-server system based on the previous partial denoising research in the GUI(graphical user interface) environment. The client first converts a query image given by a user to a time-series and sends denoising parameters and the tolerance with this time-series to the server. The server identifies similar images from the index by evaluating a range query, which is constructed using inputs given from the client and sends the resulting images to the client. Experimental results show that our system provides many intuitive and accurate matching results.

  • In order to establish the robust current controller design technique of series wound motor driver system. This paper proposes a method of compensated Bang-Bang current control using a series wound motor driver system under improperly variable load. Real time implementation of compensated Bang-Bang current controller achieved. Concept design strategy of the control and PWM waveform generation algorithms are presented in the paper.

  • In this paper, The strength and driving characteristics of it were investigated according to developing the traction motor for 8200 electric locomotive series. For this purpose, Flux density strength was analyzed and then structural strength was investigated such as a stator frame, design of the rotor shaft bearing according to the design process. In addition, the traction motor operating point was analyzed according to slip frequency variation at a power source frequency. As the results of analysis on torque-speed characteristic curve, we was confirmed that traction motor was controlled as torque control prior to motor speed 1610[rpm], power control between 1610[rpm] and 2500[rpm] and breakdown torque control more than motor speed 2500[rpm].

  • To obtain low resistance and high efficiency energy-saving ship, minimum total resistance hull form design method is studied based on potential flow theory of wave-making resistance and considering the effects of tail viscous separation. With the sum of wave resistance and viscous resistance as objective functions and the parameters of B-Spline function as design variables, mathematical models are built using Nonlinear Programming Method (NLP) ensuring the basic limit of displacement and considering rear viscous separation. We develop ship lines optimization procedures with intellectual property rights. Series60 is used as parent ship in optimization design to obtain improved ship (Series60-1) theoretically. Then drag tests for the improved ship (Series60-1) is made to get the actual minimum total resistance hull form.

  • This paper presents the design of an H$\infty$ based robust Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) supplementary controller to suppress the subsynchronous resonance (SSR) in the series-compensated system. The IEEE second benchmark, System-l model is employed for this study. In order to design the effective controller, the modal controllability and observability indices to the oscillation modes are considered. Comprehensive time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model that the proposed STATCOM supplementary controller can suppress the SSR efficiently in spite of the variations of power system operating conditions.

Design of a Triple-Mode Bandpass Filter Using a Closed Loop Resonator

  • In this study, a novel third-order bandpass filter, which is based on a rectangular closed loop resonator, is presented. By adding a series resonator to the conventional loop resonator, the resonator's even resonant mode is split into two modes, while the odd resonant mode is not affected. Therefore, by varying the values of the series resonator elements, the resonant frequencies of two even modes can be determined independent of the odd-mode resonant frequency. In the proposed triple-mode filter design, instead of using a lumped series resonator, a T-shaped transmission line is coupled to the resonator via a small gap. To verify the design method, a filter is designed at 2.4 GHz with a bandwidth of 100 MHz. The improved performances of the proposed triple-mode filter are compared with those of the conventional dual mode filter.

An Analytical Solution for Regular Progressive Water Waves

  • In order to provide simple and accurate wave theory in design of offshore structure, an analytical approximation is introduced in this paper. The solution is limited to flat bottom having a constant water depth. Water is considered as inviscid, incompressible and irrotational. The solution satisfies the continuity equation, bottom boundary condition and non-linear kinematic free surface boundary condition exactly. Error for dynamic condition is quite small. The solution is suitable in description of breaking waves. The solution is presented with closed form and dispersion relation is also presented with closed form. In the last century, there have been two main approaches to the nonlinear problems. One of these is perturbation method. Stokes wave and Cnoidal wave are based on the method. The other is numerical method. Dean's stream function theory is based on the method. In this paper, power series method was considered. The power series method can be applied to certain nonlinear differential equations (initial value problems). The series coefficients are specified by a nonlinear recurrence inherited from the differential equation. Because the non-linear wave problem is a boundary value problem, the power series method cannot be applied to the problem in general. But finite number of coefficients is necessary to describe the wave profile, truncated power series is enough. Therefore the power series method can be applied to the problem. In this case, the series coefficients are specified by a set of equations instead of recurrence. By using the set of equations, the nonlinear wave problem has been solved in this paper.

Study on Color Coordination of Hanbok - Focusing on Chima, Jegori in 2005~2010 - (한복 배색에 관한 연구 - 2005~2010년 치마, 저고리를 중심으로 -)

  • Modern Hanbok uses newly different color coordination based on traditional color coordination and symbolic meaning. Thus, this study would investigate the aspects of color coordination and symbolic meaning and present the characteristics of Hanbok as the data of corresponding period in the modern times. In order to investigate recent trend of preferred colors and color coordination of Hanbok, this study focused on the period of 2005~2010. When analyzing colors of Jegori(jacket), Wh, Y, B, YG, P and Gy series are shown in order. For trends for color of Chima(skirt), Pk, R, P, Gy and Bk series are shown in order. When you look into the color coordination of skirt and jacket on whole, color coordination of Pk-Wh represents the highest frequency. Color coordinations of Pk-Y, Pk-B, R-Y, R-G and Pk-G are followed in order. Color coordinations of R-YG, Bk-Wh, O-Y, P-Wh, Pk-YG, Gy-Y, R-Wh series and Gy-Wh are followed in order. When looking into characteristics of overall color coordination of Hanbok, it was shown that there were many opportunities to meet a variety of culture and various colors had emerged depending on individual taste and skin color in the modern times within the framework of basic colors of woman's 'Nokeuihongsang'(Green upper garment and red skirt) R-G, Y series, which are traditionally inherited. In addition, unlike existing traditional color coordination of five elements in the past, P, Gy and Bk series of color appeared in the skirt and Jacket. It could be affected by fashionable drama and films at that time and newly attempted colors ahead of fashion were reflected on the magazine. Therefore, it implied that it naturally gave new awareness of colors to the general public and the width of selection of colors became diverse.
