  • Generally, brushless DC motor(BLDCM) driving system uses hall sensors or encoders as the mechanical position or speed sensor. It is necessary to achieve the informations of rotor position for driving trapezoidal type brushless DC motor without any position sensor. In this paper, the commutation signals are obtained without the motor neutral voltage, multistage analog filters, A/D converters, or the complex digital phase shift circuits which are indispensable in the conventional sensorless control algorithms. In the proposed method, in stead of detecting the zero crossing point of the nonexcited motor back electromagnetic force for the average motor terminal to neutral voltage, the commutation signal are extracted directly from the specific average line to line voltage with low-pass filter, adder and comparators circuit. In contrast to conventional methods, the neutral voltage is not need; therefore, the commutation signals are insensitive to the common mode noise. Moreover, the complex phase shift circuit can be eliminated. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulation results.

  • This paper presents a novel scheme to estimate the rotor position of a single-phase hybrid switched reluctance motor (HSRM). The proposed method uses the differential of back-EMF within a position region to estimate rotor position. By detecting the crossing-zero signal of back-EMF differential value, the minimum position of back-EMF corresponding to an absolute rotor position can be captured and used for position estimation four times in every mechanical rotation. In this way, a sensorless operation with adjustable turn on/off angle can be achieved without substantial computation. For the starting, two current comparators are adopted. The experimental verification using a prototype drive system is provided to demonstrate the viability of the proposed sensorless scheme.

  • In recent years, the switched reluctance motor have been used many industrial application because of its cost advantage. SRM drivers are accomplished by switching the phase currents on and off synchronously with the rotor position which is fed back to the controller by position may deteriorate in harsh environments and increase the size and cost of the SRM drive system. This paper proposes a position sensorless method that is based on impressed pulse voltage using impressed at unenergised phases to estimate the rotor position. The current value by impressed pulse voltage compare with the threshold value. The rotor position can be estimated by observing the current value. Finally, simulation results compare with the sensor type SRM and confirm the proposed method to be useful.

  • We propose an improved sensorless drive method of Switched Reluctance Motors using impressed voltage pulses. Conventional impressed voltage pulse method has a problem of phase delay because of low -pass filter. So In this paper we propose an unproved sensorless driving method based on the impressed voltage pulse using new phase-shift circuit technique that overcomes the phase delay and start-up problem.

  • This paper presents a sliding mode observer for the sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drives. The sliding mode observer has been presented as a robust estimation method. Most of these previous works, however, were not for an interior PMSM (IPMSM), but for a non-salient pole PMSM and its observer design is conducted in the stationary reference frame. Thus, in this paper, we investigate the design of a sliding mode observer and its driving characteristics for an IPMSM. The proposed sliding mode observer is designed in the rotating reference frame, and good drive performance is achieved even when the observer parameters are mismatched with those of an actual motor. The proposed method is applied to a 600W IPMSM, and, then, the measurement results are presented.

  • In a sensorless control system with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), the angular position of the rotor flux can be estimated by a voltage equation. However, the estimated angle may be inaccurate due to various causes. In this paper, it was comprehensively analyzed how various causes affect the angle error. As a result of the analysis, an error equation intuitively describing these relationships was derived. The parameter errors of a PMSM and the non-ideal properties of the driving system were identified as error-causing factors. To demonstrate the validity of the error equation, PMSMs were tested at various operating points. The variations in angle errors could be well explained with the error equation.

  • This power proposes a new sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal brushless DC motor generally requiring mechanical position or speed sensor. For this an indirect rotor position sensing method from the back emf waveform of non-conducting phase is explained. Back emf waveform of non-conducting is obtained from analysing terminal voltage created by making Y-connection. And an experiment is implemented with a driving system which use 87c196mc microcontroller having a peripheral associated with 3-phase signals and inverter composed of Power MOSFET. The experimental results show the validity and practicality of the proposed sensorless drive.

  • The position of stator is essential when a trapezoidal BLDC motor is drived. In this paper we proposed a novel sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal BLDC motor without hall sensors or encoders. The resistor Y-connecting method is used to obtain Back-emf of a trapezoidal BLDC motor. Especially, by using the new Back-emf filter circuit proposed in this paper the sensorless characteristic in low speed is improved. The prototype proposed system applied for a 100[W] rating BLDC motor is made and the propriety of the Back-EMF filter circuit is also verified.

  • This paper deals with speed control of DC servo motor using a Fuzzy tuning observer. Speed sensor detect a speed of rotor continuously. But it have a limit as a driving speed to detect speed precisely. So it is problem to improve the performance of the driving system. To solve the problem, it is studied to detect a speed of DC motor without sensor. In particular, study on the method to estimate the speed using the observer is performed a lot. In this parer, the gain of the observer is properly set up using the fuzzy observer. The fuzzy observer has a superior transient characteristic and is easy to implement compared the existing method is designed. It estimate the derivative of the armature current directly using the armature current measured in the DC motor. It estimate the speed of the rotor using the differentiation. It is proposed speed sensorless control method using the estimated speed. Optimal gain of Luenberger observer is set up using the fuzzy observer and adapted speed control of DC servo motor low speed operation. It is proved excellence and feasibility of the presented observer from the comparison tested a case with a speed sensor and a case without a speed sensor which used a highly efficient drive and 200W DC servo motor starting system.

  • In this thesis, it is a purpose to carry out speed control of DC servo motor without using encoder and the resolver which are speed sensor of DC servo motor and it should use estimate algorithm or observer and must assume a speed in order to control speed sensorless. Therefore, high gain observer was designed to estimate rotor speed of DC servo motor and it carries out speed control from the feedback of the speed that assumed done in the thesis. Also, implementation used easy PI controller in speed-controller of DC motor though it was simple. It is compared estimate performance of Luenberger and high gain observer in a way of computer simulation in order to verify performance of the high gain observer which proposed in this thesis, and proved excellency of the high gain observer. And the thesis proved that smooth speed sensorless control of DC servo motor was implemented in invariable driving.
