A Study on the Control and Estimation of Gap Sensor Offset in High-Precision Magnetic Levitation Transport System (초정밀 자기부상 물류 이송장치의 제어 및 공극 센서 오프셋 추정 연구)

  • The high-precision magnetic levitation transport system is a transport device applying the principle of magnetic levitation. So it is preferable for manufactory process of semiconductor and display industries. In this system, the gap sensors are arranged discontinuously and turned on or off when the tray moves in the running direction. Therefore, precise gap data is important for precise control of the carrier. However, a slight error occurs in the process of installing the gap sensor. So, in this paper, we introduce the high-precision magnetic levitation transport system for OLED evaporation process. Also, we propose a strategy for stable flight control and an offset algorithm for tracking installation errors transport system. The performances of the proposed algorithm are validated through simulation.

An Experimental Study on the Estimation Flow-rate of Venturi Pump Using LightGBM (LightGBM을 이용한 수력 펌프 유량 추정의 실험적 연구)

  • In disaster situations, to facilitate rapid drainage, electric underwater pumps are installed manually. This poses a high risk of electric shock accidents due to a short circuit, and a lot of time is required for hose connection and installation of electrical devices. To solve these problems, a Venturi pump using the venturi effect without external power is used. However, Venturi pumps that operate without external power make it difficult to install flow sensors such as electric devices; consequently, it is difficult to check the real-time flow rate. This paper proposes a flow estimation logic to replace the function of the flow sensor for the venturi pump . To develop the flow estimation logic, the flow characteristics of the venturi pump, according to the operating conditions, were checked. After that, the relationship with the flow rate of the venturi pump was defined using a pressure sensor corresponding to a low-cost sensor. Finally, an analysis of the estimation error was performed using the developed flow estimation logic.

  • In this paper, we propose a full digital capacitive sensing touch key reducing the effects due to the variations of resistance and clock frequency. The proposed circuit consists of two capacitive loads to measure and a resistor between the capacitive loads. The method measures the delays of the resistor and two capacitive loads, respectively. The ratio of the two delays is represented as the ratio of the two capacitive loads and is irrelative to the resistance and the clock frequency if quantization error is disregarded. Experimental results show the proposed scheme efficiently reduces the effects due to the variations of clock frequency and resistance. Further more the method has l.04[pF] resolution and can be used as a touch key.

  • This paper presents a compensation method of unbalanced phase currents in interleaved bi-directional converters. Phase currents in interleaved bi-directional converter are apt to be unbalanced due to circuit parameter error and switch operation difference. This problem causes the switch element failure and the reduced efficiency of the converter. Therefore, it is necessary that a certain balance control algorithm is provided in interleaved bi-directional converter system. In this paper, a balance control algorithm based on the circular chain control method is proposed. Further, in order to reduce the number of phase current sensors, this paper shows a simple method in which phase currents can be extracted indirectly through a DC-link current sensor in both charging and discharging modes. The validity and the effectiveness of the proposed phase currents balance control algorithm are illustrated through the simulation results.

  • In this paper proposed the solar tracking system to use a fuzzy control order to increase an output of the PV(Photovoltaic) array. The solar tracking system operated two DC motors driving by signal of photo sensor. The control of dual axes is not an easy task due to nonlinear dynamics and unavailability of the parameters. Recently, artificial intelligent control of the fuzzy control, neural-network and genetic algorithm etc. have been studied. The fuzzy control made a nonlinear dynamics to well perform and had a robust and highly efficient characteristic about a parameter variable as well as a nonlinear characteristic. Hence the fuzzy control was used to perform the tracking system after comparing with error values of setting-up, nonlinear altitude and azimuth. In this paper designed a fuzzy controller for improving output of PV array and evaluated comparison with efficient of conventional PI controller. The data which were obtained by experiment were able to show a validity of the proposed controller.

Calibrating Electrode Misplacement in Underwater Electric Field Sensor Arrays for the Electric Field-Based Localization of Underwater Vessels (수중 이동체의 전기장 신호 기반 위치추정을 위한 수중 전기장 배열센서의 전극 부설 위치 오차 보정 방법)

  • This paper proposes a method to calibrate the electrode misplacement in underwater electric field sensor arrays (EFSAs) for accurate measurements of underwater electric field signatures. The electrode misplacement of an EFSA was estimated by measuring the electric field signatures generated by a known electric source and by comparing the measurements with the theoretical calculations under similar measurement conditions. When the EFSA measured the electric field signatures induced by an unknown electric source, the electric properties of the unknown electric source were approximated by considering the optimized estimation of the electrode misplacement of the EFSA. Finally, the measured electric field signatures were calibrated by calculating the theoretical electric field signatures to be measured with an ideally installed EFSA without electrode misplacement; the approximated electric properties of the unknown electric source were also taken into account. Simulations were conducted to test the proposed calibration method. The results showed that the electrode misplacement could be estimated. Further, the electric field measurements and the electric field-based localization of underwater vessels became more accurate after the application of the proposed calibration method. The proposed method will contribute to applications such as the detection and localization of underwater electric sources, which require accurate measurements of underwater electric field signatures.

A 2MC-based Framework for Sensor Data Loss Decrease in Wireless Sensor Network Failures (무선센서네트워크 장애에서 센서 데이터 손실 감소를 위한 2MC기반 프레임워크)

  • Wireless sensor networks have been used in many applications such as marine environment, army installation, etc. The sensor data is very important, because all these applications depend on sensor data. The possibility of communication failures becomes high since the surrounding environment of a wireless sense network has an sensitive effect on its communications. In particular, communication failures in underwater communications occur more frequently because of a narrow bandwidth, slow transmission speed, noises from the surrounding environments and so on. In cases of communication failures, the sensor data can be lost in the sensor data delivery process and these kinds of sensor data losses can make critical huge physical damages on human or environments in applications such as fire surveillance systems. For this reason, although a few of studies for storing and compressing sensor data have been proposed, there are lots of difficulties in actual realization of the studies due to none-existence of the framework using network communications. In this paper, we propose a framework for reducing loss of the sensor data and analyze its performance. The our analyzed results in non-framework application show a decreasing data recovery rate, T/t, as t time passes after a network failure, where T is a time period to fill the storage with sensor data after the network failure. Moreover, all the sensor data generated after a network failure are the errors impossible to recover. But, on the other hand, the analyzed results in framework application show 100% data recovery rate with 2~6% data error rate after data recovery.

  • Tire force is one of important parameters which determine vehicle dynamics. However, it is hard to measure tire force directly through sensors. Not only the sensor is expensive but also installation of sensors on harsh environments is difficult. Therefore, estimation algorithms based on vehicle dynamic models are introduced to estimate the tire forces indirectly. In this paper, an estimation system for estimating lateral force and states is suggested. The state-space equation is constructed based on the 3-DOF bicycle model. Extended Kalman Filter, Unscented Kalman Filter and Ensemble Kalman Filter are used for estimating states on the nonlinear system. Performance of each algorithm is evaluated in terms of RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) and maximum error.

  • This paper proposed an efficient algorithm for tension sensing smart fence system with wireless sensor transmission module installation and alarming services. The wired transmission system demonstrates high accuracy and low latency, but the cost is expensive and transmission error may occur. For these reasons, this paper presented to use wireless transmission communication using Zigbee module technology in order to decrease delay and latency and solve the battery issues.

  • This paper presents implementation of localization system using UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) sensors and its experimental results along with development of context-aware services. In order for precise measurement of position, we experimented various conditions of pitch angles, yaw angles, number of sensors, height of tags along with measuring errors at each installation. As an application examples of the location tracking system, we developed an intelligent health training management system based on context-aware technology. The system provides appropriate training schedule to a trainee by recognizing position of the trainee and current status of gymnastic equipments and note the usage of the equipment through a personal digital assistant (PDA). Error compensation on position data and moving direction of the trainee was necessary for context-aware service. Hence, we proposed an error compensation algorithm using velocity of the trainee. Experimental results showed that proposed algorithm had made error data reduce by 30% comparing with the data without applying the algorithm.
