  • This paper describes the development and verification of control algorithms for V2X and environmental sensor integrated intersection support and safety systems. The objective of the research is to develop core technologies for effective fusion of V2X and environmental sensors and to develop new safety function for intersection safety. One of core technologies is to achieve the improvement of GPS accuracy, and the other is to develop the algorithm of a vehicle identification which matches all data from V2X, vehicle sensors and environmental sensors to specific vehicles. A intersection optimal pass (IOP) algorithm is designed based on these core technologies. IOP recommends appropriate speed to pass the intersection in the consideration of traffic light signal and preceeding vehicle existence. Another function is developed to prevent a collision avoidance when car crash caused by traffic violation of surrounding vehicles is expected. Finally all functions are implemented and tested in three test vehicles. It is shown that IOP can support convenient and comfortable driving with recommending optimal pass speed and collision avoidance algorithm can effectively prevent collision caused by traffic sign violation of surrounding vehicles.

  • Threat Evaluation(TE) which has air intelligence attained by identifying friend or foe evaluates the target's threat degree, so it provides information to Weapon Assignment(WA) step. Most of TE data are passed by sensor measured values, but existing techniques(fuzzy, bayesian network, and so on) have many weaknesses that erroneous linkages and missing data may fall into confusion in decision making. Therefore we need to efficient Threat Evaluation system that can refine various sensor data's linkages and calculate reliable threat values under unpredictable war situations. In this paper, we suggest new threat evaluation system based on information fusion JDL model, and it is principle that combine fuzzy which is favorable to refine ambiguous relationships with bayesian network useful to inference battled situation having insufficient evidence and to use learning algorithm. Finally, the system's performance by getting threat evaluation on an air defense scenario is presented.

  • Recent studies for working robot in dangerous places have been carried out on large unmanned ground vehicles or 4-legged robots with the advantage of long working time, but it is difficult to apply in practical dangerous fields which require the real-time system with high locomotion and capability of delicate working. This research shows the collaborated docking system of drone and ground vehicles which combines image processing algorithm and laser sensors for effective detection of docking markers, and is finally capable of moving a long distance and doing very delicate works. We proposed the docking system of drone and ground vehicles with sensor fusion which also suggests two template matching methods appropriate for this application. The system showed 95% docking success rate in 50 docking attempts.

  • This paper deals with a problem occuring in recognition of tactile images due to the effects of imposed force at a me urement moment. Tactile image of a contact surface, used for recognition of the surface type, varies depending on the forces imposed so that a false recognition may result in. This paper fuzzifies two parameters of the contour of a tactile image with the membership function formed by considering the imposed force. Two fuzzifed paramenters are fused by the average Minkowski's dist; lnce. The proposed algorithm was implemented on the multisensor system cnmposed of an optical tact le sensor and a 6 axes forceltorque sensor. By the experiments, the proposed algorithm has shown average recognition ratio greater than 869% over all imposed force ranges and object models which is about 14% enhancement comparing to the case where only the contour information is used. The pro- ~oseda lgorithm can be used for end-effectors manipulating a deformable or fragile objects or for recognition of 3D objects by implementing on multi-fingered robot hand.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to install an RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) on a tractor used in a farm to measure positions, pasture topography, posture angles, and vibration accelerations, translate the information into maps using the GIS, analyze the characteristics of grass harvesting work, and establish new technologies and construction standards for pasture infrastructure improvement based on the analyzed data. Method: Tractor's roll, pitch, and yaw angles and vibration accelerations along the three axes during grass harvesting were measured and a GIS map prepared from the data. A VRS/RTK-GPS (MS750, Trimble, USA) tractor position measuring system and an IMU (JCS-7401A, JAE, JAPAN) tractor vibration acceleration measuring systems were mounted on top of a tractor and below the operator's seat to obtain acceleration in the direction of progression, transverse acceleration, and vertical acceleration at 10Hz. In addition, information on regions with bad workability was obtained from an operator performing grass harvesting and compared with information on changes in tractor posture angles and vibration acceleration. Results: Roll and pitch angles based on the y-axis, the direction of forward movements of tractor coordinate systems, changed by at least $9-13^{\circ}$ and $8-11^{\circ}$ respectively, leading to changes in working postures in the central and northern parts of the pasture that were designated as regions with bad workability during grass harvesting. These changes were larger than those in other regions. The synthesized vectors of the vibration accelerations along the y-axis, the x-axis (transverse direction), and the z-axis (vertical direction) were higher in the central and northwestern parts of the pasture at 3.0-4.5 m/s2 compared with other regions. Conclusions: The GIS map developed using information on posture angles and vibration accelerations by position in the pasture is considered sufficiently utilizable as data for selection of construction locations for pasture infrastructure improvement.

  • The most widespread techniques for DEM generation are stereoscopy for optical sensor images and interfereometry for SAR images. These techniques suffer from certain sensor and processing limitations, which can be overcome by the synergetic use of both sensors and DEMs respectively. In this paper, different strategies for fusing SAR and optical data are combined to derive high quality DEM products. The multiresolution wavelet transform, which take advantage of the complementary properties of SAR and stereo optical DEMs, will be applied for the fusion process. By taking advantage of the fact that errors of the DEMs are of different nature using the multiresolution wavelet transform, affected part are filtered and replaced by those of the counterpart and is tested with two sets of SPOT and ERS DEM, resulting in a remarkable improvement in DEM. For the analysis of results, the reference DEM is generated from digital base map(1:5000).

  • We propose hybrid-sensing system for human tracking. This system uses laser scanners and image sensors and is applicable to wide and crowded area such as hallway of university. Concretely, human tracking using laser scanners is at base and image sensors are used for human identification when laser scanners lose persons by occlusion, entering room or going up stairs. We developed the method of human identification for this system. Our method is following: 1. Best-shot images (human images which show human feature clearly) are obtained by the help of human position and direction data obtained by laser scanners. 2. Human identification is conducted by calculating the correlation between the color histograms of best-shot images. It becomes possible to conduct human identification even in crowded scenes by estimating best-shot images. In the experiment in the station, some effectiveness of this method became clear.

  • This paper is represented to research of driving control for the forklift AGV. The related works that were studied about AGV as heavy equipment used two methods which are magnet-gyro and wire guidance for localization. However, they have weaknesses that are high cost, difficult maintenance according to change of environment. In this paper, we develop localization system through sensor fusion with laser navigation system and encoder, gyro for robustness. Also we design driving controller using fuzzy and proportional control. It considers distance and angle difference between forklift AGV and pallet for engaging work. To analyze performance of the proposed control system, we experiment in same working condition over 10 times. In the results, the average error was presented with 54.16mm between simulation of control navigation and real control navigation. Consequently, experimental result shows that the performance of proposed control system is effective.

  • In this study, we propose a method for moving a device such as a flexible air sculpture while stably maintaining the user's desired posture. To accomplish this, a robot system with a structure of a mobile robot capable of running according to a given trajectory was studied by applying the PI algorithm and horizontal maintenance posture control using IMU. The air sculptures used in this study often use thin strings in a fixed posture. Another method is to put a load on the center of gravity to maintain the posture, and it is a system with flexibility because it uses air pressure. It is expected that these structures can achieve various results by combining flexible structures and mobile robots through the convergence process of digital sensor technology. In this study, posture control was performed by fusion of the driving technology of AGV(Automatic Guided Vehicle),, a field of robot, and technologies applying various sensors. For verification, the given performance evaluation was performed through an accredited certification test, and its validity was verified through an experiment.
