소형전극 어레이로 구성한 흐름계형 전자혀 (Electronic Tongue Composed of Mini-Electrode Array in Flow Cell)

  • 소형의 이온선택성 전극을 흐름계 어레이로 구성하여 전자혀 시스템을 제작하였다. 제작된 전자혀 시스템에 음용수 및 알코올성 음료를 저 농도의 완충용액 (0.005 M Tris-$H_2SO_4$ pH 7.2)에 묽힌 후 9개의 전극이 장착된 흐름계에 흘려 보내어 전위차를 측정하였다. 얻어진 자료는 주성분 분석 (principal component analysis; PCA)을 통하여 식음료의 맛을 평가할 수 있도록 2차원 및 3차원 좌표계에 표시하였다. 본 연구에서 제작한 전자혀 시스템은 식품의 생산공정관리의 목적으로 또는 시중에서 구할 수 있는 식음료 맛의 변화 추이를 구분해 내는 목적으로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

  • FET형 용존산소 센서는 pH-ISFET를 기본 소자로하여 pH 감지 게이트 근처에 백금으로 된 작업 전극을 형성한 구조를 가지고 있다. 작업전극에 특정한 전위를 인가하면 전기분해로 인하여 용존산소의 농도에 비례하는 수소 이온이 pH 감지 게이트 주변에 발생된다. 따라서 pH-ISFET를 통하여 수소 이온 농도의 변화량을 검출하면 용존산소의 농도를 측정할 수 있게된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 FET형 용존산소 센서를 어레이 형태로 제작하여 적용하고 측정의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 알고리즘을 도입한 FET형 용존산소 센서 어레이 측정 시스템을 개발하였다. 또한 상용 용존산소 측정기와 그 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

센서 어레이를 사용한 COPD 환자의 호기분석 (Analysis of COPD Patient's Exhaled Breath Using Sensor Array)

  • The exhaled breath contains gases generated from human body. When disease occurs in the body, exhaled breath may include gas components released from disease metabolism. If we can find specific elements through analysis of the exhaled gases, this approach is an effective way to diagnose the disease. The lung function has a close relationship with exhalation. Exhaled gases from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) patients can be analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) and a gas sensor system. The exhaled breath for healthy person and COPD patients had different components. Significantly more benzendicarboxylic acid was detected from COPD patients than in healthy persons. In addition, patients had a variety of decane. Phosphorous compounds with different isomers were detected from patients. The results obtained by gas sensor system were processed by PCA (Principal Component Analysis). The PCA results revealed distinct difference between the patients and healthy people.

수중 센서 어레이에서 고 신뢰성을 고려한 신호 전송 시스템 설계 (A Design of Signal Transport System with High Reliability in an Underwater Sensor Array)

  • A system for detecting underwater target demands a high operational reliability because of the difficulty of maintenance and repair when the system has a few troubles during long operating period. Therefore, in this paper, we have proposed a signal transport system with a high reliability in an underwater sensor array system composed of magnetic and acoustic sensors. In this system, the nodes for signal transport are connected dually each other with single-hop construction and a magnetic sensor is connected to a couple of neighboring nodes. This enables the output signal to transport from a node to the next node and the next but one node. Also, the signal from a magnetic sensor can be transported to two nodes at the same time. Thus, the system with this construction makes possible to transport sensor data to another node which works normally when a transport node or cable have some faults and will operate normally although it happens some problems in a few signal transport nodes and connection cables.

선형 홀 센서 배열을 사용한 결함 검사 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Crack Examination Algorithm Using the Linearly Integrated Hall Sensor Array)

  • Previous researches show that linearly integrated Hall sensor arrays (LIHaS) can detect cracks in the steel structure fast and effectively This paper proposes an algorithm that estimates the size and shape of cracks for the developed LIHaS. In most nondestructive testing (NDT), just crack existence and location are obtained by processing 1-dimensional data from the sensor that scans the object with relative speed in single direction. The proposed method is composed with two steps. The first step is constructing 2-dimensionally mapped data space by combining the converted position data from the time-based scan data with the position information of sensor arrays those are placed in the vertical direction to the scan direction. The second step is applying designed Laplacian filter and smoothing filter to estimate the size and shape of cracks. The experimental results of express train wheels show that the proposed algorithm is not only more reliable and accurate to detecting cracks but also effective to estimate the size and shape of cracks.

코드를 이용한 초음파 동시구동 시스템 (Simultaneous Driving System of Ultrasonic Sensors Using Codes)

  • Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in mobile robot applications to recognize external environments by virtue that they are cheap, easy to use, and robust under varying lighting conditions. In most cases, a single ultrasonic sensor is used to measure the distance to an object based on time-of-flight (TOF) information, whereas multiple sensors are used to recognize the shape of an object, such as a comer, plane, or edge. However, the conventional sequential driving technique involves a long measurement time. This problem can be resolved by pulse coding of ultrasonic signals, which allows multi-sensors to be emitted simultaneously and adjacent objects to be distinguished. Accordingly, this paper presents a new simultaneous coded driving system for an ultrasonic sensor array for object recognition in autonomous mobile robots. The proposed system is designed and implemented. A micro-controller unit is implemented using a DSP, Polaroid 6500 ranging modules are modified for firing the coded signals, and a 5-channel coded signal generating board is made using a FPGA. To verify the proposed method, experiments were conducted in an environment with overlapping signals, and the flight distances fur each sensor were obtained from the received overlapping signals using correlations and conversion to a bipolar PCM-NRZ signal.

단일모드 광섬유의 간섭계 센서를 이용한 온도측정 (Temperature Measurement Using Single-Mode Fiber Interferometric Sensor)

  • 본 연구에서는 단일모드 광섬유에서의 온도에 의한 위상변조 현상을 분석하고 단일모드 광섬유 간섭계를 이용한 온도센서를 설계. 제작하여 그 온도특성을 조사하였다. 설계한 fiber-optic온도센서는 Mach-Zehnder 간섭계를 이용한 위상감지형 고감도 센서로서 온도변화는 간섭무의의 이동으로써 측정되어졌다. 간섭계에 의한 측정에서 중요한 문제중의 하나는 온도분만 아니라 모든 피측정 물리량의 변화방향에 따른 간섭무의의 이동갯수와 이동방향을 동시에 측정하는 것이다. 이를 위해 다중모드 광섬유를 이용한 배열 검출기를 제작하여 매우 간편하게 간섭무늬의 이동갯수와 이동방향을 측정하였다.

전기방사를 이용한 TiO2/PVP/LiCl 나노섬유 습도 센서의 제작과 평가 (Evaluation of Electrospun TiO2/PVP/LiCl Nanofiber Array for Humidity Sensing)

  • Recently, tremendous application utilizing electrospun nanofibers have been actively reported due to its several advantages, such as high surface to volume ratio, simple fabrication and high-throughput manufacturing. In this paper, we developed highly sensitive and consistent nanofiber humidity sensor by electrospinning. The humidity sensor was fabricated by rapid electrospinning (~2 sec) $TiO_2$/PVP/LiCl mixed solution on the micro-interdigitated electrode. In order to evaluate the humidity sensing performances, we measured current response using DC bias voltage under various relative humidity levels. The results show fast response / recovery time and marginal hysteresis as well as long-term stability. In addition, with the aid of micro-interdigitated electrode, we can reduce a total resistance of the sensor and increase the total reaction area of nanofibers across the electrodes resulting in high sensitivity and enhanced current level. Therefore, we expect that the electrospun nanofiber array for humidity sensor can be feasible and promising for diverse humidity sensing application.

PCA와 Sammon Mapping 분석을 통한 센서 어레이 패턴들의 실시간 가시화 방법 (Real-Time Visualization Techniques for Sensor Array Patterns Using PCA and Sammon Mapping Analysis)

  • Sensor arrays based on chemical sensors produce multidimensional patterns of data that may be used discriminate between different chemicals. For the human observer, visualization of multidimensional data is difficult, since the eye and brain process visual information in two or three dimensions. To devise a simple means of data inspection from the response of sensor arrays, PCA (Principal Component Analysis) or Sammon's nonlinear mapping technique can be applied. The PCA, which is a well-known statistical method and widely used in data analysis, has disadvantages including data distortion and the axes for plotting the dimensionally reduced data have no physical meaning in terms of how different one cluster is from another. In this paper, we have investigated two techniques and proposed a combination technique of PCA and nonlinear Sammom mapping for visualization of multidimensional patterns to two dimensions using data sets from odor sensing system. We conclude the combination technique has shown more advantages comparing with the PCA and Sammon nonlinear technique individually.

$256{\times}256$ 픽셀 어레이 저항형 지문센서 (Fingerprint Sensor Based on a Skin Resistivity with $256{\times}256$ pixel array)

  • 본 논문에서는 개선된 회로를 적용한 $256{\times}256$ 픽셀 저항형 지문센서를 제안하고 있다. 단위 픽셀 수준의 센싱회로는 가변적인 전류를 전압으로 변환하여 이진 디지털 신호로 만든다. 정전기에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 인접 픽셀 간 전기적 차폐 레이아웃 구조를 제안하고 있다. 전체회로는 단위 센서 회로를 확장하여 ASIC 설계방식을 통하여 설계한 뒤 로직 및 회로에 대하여 모의실험을 하였다. 전체회로는 $0.35{\mu}m$ 표준 CMOS 공정규칙을 적용하여 센서블록은 전주문 방식을 적용하고 전체 칩은 자동배선 툴을 이용하여 반주문 방식으로 레이아웃을 실시하였다.
