  • Many kinds of robots and machines have been developed to replace human laborin industrial and medical fields, as well as domestic life. In these applications, the device sneed to obtain environmental data using diverse sensors. Among such sensors, the tactile sensor is important because of its ability to get information regarding surface texture and force through the use of mechanical contact. In this research, a simple tactile sensor was developed using the direct writing of pressure sensitive material and layered fabrication of photocurable material. The body of the sensor was fabricated using layered fabrication, and pressure sensitive materials were dispensed between the layers using direct writing. We examined the line fabrication characteristics of the pressure sensitive material according to nozzle dispensing conditions. A simple $4{\times}4$ array flexible tactile sensor was successfully fabricated using the proposed process.

건구온파를 오인한 장기최대전력수요예측에 관한 연구 (Long-Term Maximum Power Demand Forecasting in Consideration of Dry Bulb Temperature)

  • Recently maximum power demand of our country has become to be under the great in fluence of electric cooling and air conditioning demand which are sensitive to weather conditions. This paper presents the technique and algorithm to forecast the long-term maximum power demand considering the characteristics of electric power and weather variable. By introducing a weather load model for forecasting long-term maximum power demand with the recent statistic data of power demand, annual maximum power demand is separated into two parts such as the base load component, affected little by weather, and the weather sensitive load component by means of multi-regression analysis method. And we derive the growth trend regression equations of above two components and their individual coefficients, the maximum power demand of each forecasting year can be forecasted with the sum of above two components. In this case we use the coincident dry bulb temperature as the weather variable at the occurence of one-day maximum power demand. As the growth trend regression equation we choose an exponential trend curve for the base load component, and real quadratic curve for the weather sensitive load component. The validity of the forecasting technique and algorithm proposed in this paper is proved by the case study for the present Korean power system.

Aspergillus nidulans 온도감수성 돌연변이주의 분리 및 분석 (Isolation and Analysis of Temperature Sensitive Mutants in Aspergillus nidulans)

  • About 40 temperature-sensitive mutants have been isolated as a preliminary step to study the spore germination, the cell cycle, and the control of macromolecular synthesis in Aspergillus nidulans. To obtain temperature-sensitive mutants rapidly and effectively, the selective enrichment method using antifungal antibiotic nystatin was developed. Based on the data which had applied to the concentration of auxotrophic mutants by the earlier investigators, the optimal concentration and the time of treatment at the nonpermissive temeprature were determined as 50 to 100 units per ml and 4.5 hr., respectively. Out of 41 ts mutants assigned to the strain symbol PK, thirteen that seemed to be arrested at the earlystage of spore germination were subjected to the further cytological and genetic analysis. Elght of these mutants are able to form germ tube and five not. Staining with acid fuchsin for the 5PK strains shows that one irreversible mutant, PK6 strain able to form germ tube, accumulate mitotic spindle, being arrested in mitosis. Another PK15 and PK23 strain have more than one intact nucleolus without germ tube formation at the restrictive temperature. the temperature-senstive mutation in PK12 strain, the onlystrain which is able occurred in certain gene specific for the germination of spore. All of the ts markers are recessive and complement each other in heterokaryon between two different ts markers at the restrictive temperature.

에지 센서티브 이미지 보간 (An Edge Sensitive Image Interpolation)

  • 본 연구에서는 에지 성분의 추출을 보다 섬세하게 처리함으로써 이미지 화질을 개선하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 고전적인 보간을 응용한 ESII(Edge Sensitive Image Interpolation)으로 보간 커널 식에서 고정된 매개 변수를 사용하지 않고 주변 화소 값으로부터 적절한 정보를 얻어내서 매 화소마다 매개변수를 변화시킨다. LSE(Least Square Error)를 이용하여 CME(Camera Modelling Error)를 최소화 하도록 보간 할 화소 값을 결정함으로써 이미지를 복원하며, 기존 방법에 비교하여 객관적, 주관적 화질이 우수함을 실험, 제시하였으며 또한 영상을 1차원 정보로 분리하여 고려한 결과 계산상의 복잡도를 줄이는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

Structural damage detection in presence of temperature variability using 2D CNN integrated with EMD

  • Traditional approaches for structural health monitoring (SHM) seldom take ambient uncertainty (temperature, humidity, ambient vibration) into consideration, while their impacts on structural responses are substantial, leading to a possibility of raising false alarms. A few predictors model-based approaches deal with these uncertainties through complex numerical models running online, rendering the SHM approach to be compute-intensive, slow, and sometimes not practical. Also, with model-based approaches, the imperative need for a precise understanding of the structure often poses a problem for not so well understood complex systems. The present study employs a data-based approach coupled with Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) to correlate recorded response time histories under varying temperature conditions to corresponding damage scenarios. EMD decomposes the response signal into a finite set of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). A two-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (2DCNN) is further trained to associate these IMFs to the respective damage cases. The use of IMFs in place of raw signals helps to reduce the impact of sensor noise while preserving the essential spatio-temporal information less-sensitive to thermal effects and thereby stands as a better damage-sensitive feature than the raw signal itself. The proposed algorithm is numerically tested on a single span bridge under varying temperature conditions for different damage severities. The dynamic strain is recorded as the response since they are frame-invariant and cheaper to install. The proposed algorithm has been observed to be damage sensitive as well as sufficiently robust against measurement noise.

심혈관질환 위험 예측을 위한 비용민감 학습 모델 (Cost-Sensitive Learning for Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease Risk Prediction)

  • 본 연구에서는 기계 학습을 사용하여 심혈관 질환 예측 모델을 제안한다. 먼저 두 집단간에 다양한 차이를 다차원분석하고 그 결과를 시각화한다. 특히, 질환과 같이 정상집단과 환자집단 간에 높은 클래스 불균형이 존재하는 경우에 대하여 민감도를 향상시킬 수 있는 비용 민감 학습을 사용하는 예측 모델을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 머신러닝 기술인 CART와 XGBoost를 사용하여 예측모델을 개발하고, 심혈관 질환 환자 데이터를 대상으로 예측하고 성능을 비교한다. 연구결과에 따르면 CART가 XGBoost 보다 더 높은 정확도와 특이도를 보였으며, 정확도는 약 70%~74%로 나타났다.

자기애 성향에 따른 집단별 외모관심도 및 미용행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Group-specific External Feature Concerns and Beauty Care Behaviors Depending on Narcissistic Propensity)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify potential differences in group- specific external feature concerns and beauty care behaviors of Korean women in their 20's~40's depending on their narcissistic propensity. This study is to take psychological approaches to narcissistic propensity of our contemporary society, so that it can get better understanding about consumers and provide marketing data on beauty-related industry. To meet the above goals, total 400 sheets of questionnaire were distributed to subjects from March 30 to April 8, 2009. Out of 376 sheets of questionnaire collected, total 355 valid questionnaires except incomplete 21 ones were used for final data analysis. For data analysis, this study used SPSS 12.0 as statistic program to perform factor analysis, reliability test (Cronbac's ${\alpha}$ coefficient), cluster analysis, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis. As a result, this study could come to the following findings: First, according to cluster analysis depending upon different factors such as self-directed narcissism, others-conscious narcissism and others-sensitive narcissism, it was found that our women in 20's to 40's could fall into 4 groups, i.e. complex narcissism group, mixed narcissism group, others-sensitive narcissism group and dispirited narcissism group. Second, according to analysis on potential differences in external feature concerns among four groups depending on their narcissistic propensity, it was found that there were significant differences in all relevant factors among groups. Third, according to analysis on differences in beauty care behaviors among four groups depending upon their narcissistic propensity, it was found that there were significant differences in all relevant factors among groups. Fourth, according to analysis on potential factors of external feature concerns that may influence beauty care behaviors of complex narcissism group, it was found that those factors had significant effects on fashion-orientedness, cosmetic surgery and personality pursuit of this group. And it was also found that there were significant differences in fashion-orientedness, cosmetic surgery, makeup and hair styling of mixed narcissism group, others-sensitive narcissism group and dispirited narcissism group respectively.

  • In future, hospitals are expected to automatically issue remote transcriptions. Many general hospitals are planning to encrypt their medical database to secure personal information as mandated by law. The electronic medical record system, picture archiving communication system, and the clinical data warehouse, amongst others, are the preferred targets for which stronger security is planned. In the near future, medical systems can be assumed to be automated and connected to remote locations, such as rural areas, and islands. Connecting patients who are in remote locations to medical complexes that are usually based in larger cities requires not only automatic processing, but also a certain amount of security in terms of medical data that is of a sensitive and critical nature. Unauthorized access to patients' transcription data could result in the data being modified, with possible lethal results. Hence, personal and sensitive data on telemedicine and medical information systems should be encrypted to protect patients from these risks. Login passwords, personal identification information, and biological information should similarly be protected in a systematic way. This paper proposes the use of electronic acupuncture with a built-in multi-pad, which has the advantage of being able to establish a patient's physical condition, while simultaneously treating the patient with acupuncture. This system implements a sensing pad, amplifier, a small signal drive circuit, and a digital signal processing system, while the use of a built-in fuzzy technique and a control algorithm have been proposed for performing analyses.

데이터 익명화 결정 기법 (Data Anonymity Decision)

  • 공개되는 데이터에서 각 개인의 민감한 정보를 보호하기 위한 방법으로 데이터 익명화에 관한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 대부분의 연구들은 익명화 요구 사항에 위배되지 않으면서, 효율적인 시간 내 레코드들을 일반화하는 기법을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있다. 익명화 작업이 많은 시간이 요구되는 문제임을 고려한다면, 민감한 정보에 대한 프라이버시 침해의 우려가 있는지, 익명화가 요구되는지를 미리 검사하는 것은 개인 정보 보호차원뿐만 아니라 데이터의 활용성 및 시간적 효율성 측면에서도 매우 중요하다. 또한, 그러한 침해의 우려가 있다면 어떤 유형의 공격에 취약한지를 미리 판단함으로써 그에 적절한 익명화 방식을 결정하는 것도 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 민감한 속성에 대한 공격 유형을 크게 2가지로 분류한다. 그리고 데이터가 이들 공격으로부터 안전한가의 여부를 검사할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고, 불안정하다면 어떠한 공격에 취약하고 대략 어떤 방식의 일반화가 요구되는가를 제시한다. 본 연구에서는 익명화되기 전의 테이블뿐만 아니라, 익명화된 테이블, 그리고 익명화가 되었지만 삽입, 삭제로 인해 변경된 테이블도 공격성 검사 대상이 된다. 뿐만 아니라 익명화된 테이블도 민감한 정보를 제대로 보호하고 있는지 혹은 삽입 삭제로 인해 재익명화 작업이 필요한지의 여부도 본 연구의 결과로 결정할 수 있다.

단기 관측을 통한 설계풍속 추정 (Estimation of Design Wind Velocity Based on Short Term Measurements)

  • 풍하중이 지배적인 구조물의 경우에 정확한 설계풍속의 산정은 구조적 안정성뿐만 아니라 경제성까지도 좌우하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 광양대교 현장에 설치된 관측탑에서 약 1년간 측정한 풍속을 사용하여 풍환경을 분석하였고, MCP(Measure-Correlate-Predict) 방법을 적용하여 관측치로부터 장기 풍속을 추정하였다. 그 결과를 보면, 광양만은 바다이지만 개활지에 가까운 풍속 특성을 나타내고 있으며, 조도지수는 고도에 따라 달라지는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 풍향에 따라 난류강도와 조도지수가 상당히 차이나는 것으로 나타났다. MCP 방법으로 추정한 200년빈도 설계풍속은 초기설계치보다 20 m/s이상 낮았으며, 실측된 풍속과 거스트계수를 고려한 설계풍하중은 초기설계치의 36%밖에 안되는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 볼 때 국부적인 지형의 영향으로 추정한 교량 현장의 풍환경과 직접 측정한 풍환경은 차이가 나므로, 경제적이고 안전한 설계를 위해서는 단기간이라도 현장 풍환경 관측이 필요하다고 판단된다.
