This study is on the production and the classification of a new appreciation methods of seascape through materials in the words of Korean popular songs. In advance, it is necessary to understand the popular songs as collective representation and the songs are analytic data. In this study, some essential elements of seascape in popular songs are analyzed and classified. They are; 1. visible elements-weather, time, season and object. 2. all senses-vision, audition, olfaction, tactile sense, and spatial sense. 3. the line of vision-static line of vision and dynamic line of vision. In this way data is produced, and then the result of this study makes appreciation methods of seascape developed. In this way, this study results in developed appreciation of seascape. This study on new understanding of appreciation methods of seascape is on the basis of a design method of water-front that is considered a visible scene, not a design of construction elements.
The purpose of this study is to conceptualize 'proof' school mathematics. We based on the assumption the following. (a) There are several different roles of 'proof' : verification, explanation, systematization, discovery, communication (b) Accepted criteria for the validity and rigor of a mathematical 'proof' is decided by negotiation of school mathematics community. (c) There are dynamic relations between mathematical proof and empirical theory. We need to rethink the nature of mathematical proof and give appropriate consideration to the different types of proof related to the cognitive development of the notion of proof. 'proof' in school mathematics should be conceptualized in the broader, psychological sense of justification rather than in the narrow sense of deductive, formal proof 'proof' has not been taught in elementary mathematics, traditionally, Most students have had little exposure to the ideas of proof before the geometry. However, 'proof' cannot simply be taught in a single unit. Rather, proof must be a consistent part of students' mathematical experience in all grades, in all mathematics.
As future warfare becomes network-centric, war-game simulators require high interoperability between networked forces and dynamic reconfiguration in accordance with war events. In this paper, we propose an event-driven methodology to develop dynamic war-game simulations. Federates are developed by event-driven web services. The event-driven web services consistently sense war events and response them only if they are interested. By the sense-and-response mechanism and asynchronous event processing, we are able to save simulation time. An Anti-Surface-Warfare simulator is constructed to demonstrate the methodology and suggests that event-driven web services are efficient to model and simulate warfare where numerous events are generated from hardware systems and people dispersed on the network.

To analyze the dynamic acceleration characteristics, it is necessary to identify the acceleration model using some methods that can represent the dynamic properties well. In this sense, fractal methods were used for the verification of characteristics of an acceleration signal. To estimate and analyze the geometry of acceleration signal, a fractal interpolation and its analysis was introduced in this paper. The chaotic nature of acceleration signal was considered in fractal modeling. In this study the fractal signal modeling has brought a focus within the scope of the fractal interpolation and fractal dimension. And a new idea of fractal dimension has been introduced and discussed considering the damping ratio and amplitude for its dynamic properties of the signal. The fractal dimension of acceleration with respect to the scaling factor using fixed data points of 1000 points was calculated and discussed. The acceleration behaviors of this results show some different characteristics. And this fractal analysis can be applied to other signal analysis of several machining such as pendulum type grinding and milling which has many dynamic properties in the signal.

A robot arm with free joints has some advantages over conventional ones. A light weight and low power consumed arm can be made by a reduction of the number of joint actuators. And this arm can easily overcomes actuator failure due to unexpected accident. In general such underactuated arm does not have controllability because of the lack of joint actuators. The two-link arm with a free joint introduced in this paper is also uncontrollable in the sense of linear system theory. However, the linearized system sometimes can not represent the inherent dynamic behavior of the nonlinear system. In this paper the dynamic characteristics of the two-link arm with a free joint in view of global motion including damping and friction effect of the joints is investigated. In the case of considering only the damping effect, the controllable goal positions are confined to a specific trajectories. But in the case of considering the friction effect, the system can be controlled to arbitrary positions using the friction of the free joint as a holding brake. Also numerical example of position control is presented.

GPS cannot determine random errors such as multipath and signal cutoff caused by surrounding environment that determines the visibility of satellites and the speed of data creation and transmission is lower than the speed of vehicles, it is difficult to determine accurate dynamic positions. Thus this study purposed to implement a method of deciding the accurate dynamic position of vehicles by combining AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System) IMU (Initial Measurement Unit) based on low-priced MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System) in order to provide the information of attitude, position and speed at a high transmission rate without external help. This study conducted an initialization test to decide dynamic position using AHRS IMU sensor, and derived attitude correction angles of vehicles against time through regression analysis. The roll angle was $y=(A{\times}10^{-6})x^2 -(B{\times}10^{-5})x+Cr{\times}10^{-2}$ and the pitch angle was $y=(A{\times}10^{-6})x^2-(B{\times}10^{-7})x+C{\times}10^{-2}$, each of which was derived from second-degree polynomial regression analysis. It was also found that the heading angle was stabilized with variation less than $1^{\circ}$ after 60 seconds.

Dynamic visual acuity is used as an important factor to measure athletic performance in sports field. A study on visual acuity testing system using non-see head mounted display (NST-HMD) was conducted recently. However, the NST-HMD has a problem that the sense of space felt by the subject differs from the actual environment. This is because the view is blocked so that it is only implemented in a virtual space. This paper proposes a dynamic visual acuity testing system using optical see through head mounted display (OST-HMD). To do this, OST-HMD and NST-HMD comparative tests were conducted using existing K-D (King-Devick) charts. Experiments were performed on 30 subjects and their visual acuity was measured and analyzed by parametric statistics and one-sample T-test. The results of the study demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed OST-HMD. This study is expected to use the visual inspection and training equipment of OST-HMD.

Assessing students' knowledge can be a challenging endeavor, as researchers attempt to capture the full complexity and potential development of children's ideas. In this study, the Dynamic Science Assessment (DSA) method (Magnusson, Templin, and Boyle, 1997) was employed to investigate 9-12 year old students' understandings of light, while engaging in multiple tasks with a flashlight with various reflectors and mirrors. The results showed that DSA was effective in providing an opportunity to establish a Zone of Proximal Development, in addition to diagnosing a student's prior understanding. Throughout the interview, a student showed a conceptual model of light as being a solid single entity whose shape can be determined by the shape of the casing of a flashlight. However, as DSA provided phenomena that could not be explained by his unitary model, the student began to re-examine his original conceptual model, and attempted to revise it. This study addressed how Dynamic Science Assessment can help us better understand, not only students' current state of understanding, but also a potential development of understanding in their ZPD. In that sense, this study argues that we should pay more attention to the instructive role of classroom assessment that can promote and support further development of students' deeper understandings.

This paper compares the arc-length and explicit dynamic solution methods for nonlinear finite element analysis of prestressed concrete members subjected to monotonically increasing loads. The investigations have been conducted using an L-shaped, prestressed concrete spandrel beam, selected as a highly nonlinear problem from the literature to give insight into the advantages and disadvantages of these two solution methods. Convergence problems, computational effort, and quality of the results were investigated using the commercial finite element package ABAQUS. The work in this paper demonstrates that a static analysis procedure, based on the arc-length method, provides more accurate results if it is able to converge on the solution. However, it experiences convergence problems depending upon the choice of mesh configuration and the selection of concrete post-cracking response parameters. The explicit dynamic solution procedure appears to be more robust than the arc-length method in the sense that it provides acceptable solutions in cases when the arc-length approach fails, however solution accuracy may be slightly lower and computational effort may be significantly larger. Furthermore, prestressing forces must be introduced into the finite element model in different ways for the explicit dynamic and arc-length solution procedures.

Most of previous parallel join algorithms assume a database partition system(DPS), where each database partition is owned by a single processing node. While the DPS is novel in the sense that it can interconnect a large number of nodes and support a geographically distributed environment, it may suffer from poor facility for load balancing and system availability compared to the database sharing system(DSS). In this paper, we propose a dynamic load balancing strategy by exploiting the characteristics of the DSS, and then extend the conventional hash join algorithms to the DSS by using the dynamic load balancing strategy. With simulation studies under a wide variety of system configurations and database workloads, we analyze the effects of the dynamic load balancing strategy and differences in the performances of hash join algorithms in the DSS.
