This study analyzed the digital divide of Korean senior citizens through the preference for smart media. Targeting two media out of mobile internet and mobile social media, the media dependency ratio and the trend of people in their 20s-60s were verified. Regarding the dependency ratio of young people(20s) and senior citizens(60s), in case of mobile internet, people in their 60s were average 8.6% while people in their 20s were average 38.9%, so that the ratio of senior citizens was lower by 30.3%. In case of social media, people in their 60s were average 1%, which was 7.1% lower than people in their 20s(8.1%). And this divide was the digital divide shown in the informatization process through the trend of internet use of senior citizens in their 60s or up. Thus, as the policy measures for solving the digital divide of senior citizens, it would be required to continuously develop the digital cultural programs for senior citizens, to expansively perform the government subsidiary policies like additionally providing the essential information to senior citizens, and also to expand the smart-based infrastructure for senior citizens' participation in economic activities.
Recently, the korean statistical information service reported that the elder people aged over 65 years take 11 percentage point of all population, indicating that the hyper-elder era will advent shortly. As a result, there are remarkably increasing demands for providing self-organizable home agent system for elder people. Of the home agent system, the ubiquitous home service is known to be useful to overcome this problem. However, current ubiquitous home services limited to provide functional services, and it can be observed that there is lack of consideration for elder-support products which are closely interacted with elder people in the living situation. In this paper, we analyze senior aids products that can be combined to the ubiquitous home service, and propose design procedure for senior aids products that can be applied to self-organizable ubiquitous services. We studied characteristics of elder people, current state of affairs for senior aids products, and home services that are highly required by elder people. Moreover, we observed that the ubiquitous home services related to health, safety, and amenity are urgently needed, and those services can be categorized according to residential areas. Following those observances, we proposed a design principle based on the universal design paradigm to provide self-organizable ubiquitous home service environment for elder people using senior aids products.

Due to the rapid increase of the elderly population, promoted desire for recreational activities in old age and so emerging importance of Leisure welfare facilities for the elderly. Although Senior community centers playing an important role in old people leisure life are quantitative resources occupying majority of the Leisure welfare facilities for the elderly. there are many problems of managing programs, aging facilities, small spaces and so on. So, many facilities are used as simple meeting places of old people without solution about qualitative problem. Also, because of negative perceptions of people about Senior community center socially, desires of using Senior community center of old generation will decrease. In order to perfectly play a role of Leisure welfare facilities for the elderly, we need to review regulations about facility and program of Senior community center and suggest ways to resolve these problems. According to these necessity, Integration senior community centers appeared as a new concept. These centers compensate the physical defects through integrating small Senior community center. The type of spatial composition was preferred one-room type(for single), 1-2 bedroom type with kitchen (for couple). And they preferred L/DK type. Also, they preferred furnished units not to bring their own furniture when relocating to the senior congregate housing, which was somewhat different result from previous studies.
There is an increasing curiosity in Nordic as well as Far East Asian countries about senior cohousing, where the middle-aged and elderly people, 55+. form a community for independent living.
